The Islamist-Leftist Convergence

With each new statement, Egyptian physician Ayman al-Zawahiri sounds more like the nutroots. At this point, if you ignore the religious stuff, there’s almost no difference between his jihadi talking points and those of any “progressive” blog picked at random. I expect him to start posting a diary at Daily Kos any day.

The Jawa Report has the latest: Yet Another New Zawahiri Ranting.

Bush suffers from an addictive personality, and was an alcoholic. I don’t know his present condition (Americans know best about that, as they are experts in alcohol and addiction to it), but the one who examines his personality finds that he is addicted to two other faults: lying and gambling. As regards lying, his record is well known, and he has gone down in history as one of its most notorious liars. As for his addiction to gambling, it motivates him to continue to place losing bets until he goes completely bankrupt, which is the obvious psychological motivation behind his Iraq policy. And were the Americans to leave him alone, he would continue to send their forces to Iraq until the Mujahideen kill the last one of their soldiers.

UPDATE at 2/13/07 9:13:21 am:

This convergence is not coincidental. The jihadis have an unerring instinct for recognizing and exploiting their enemies’ weak points. Lefties, we’re looking at you.
