Hamas Gives Three Week’s Notice

I haven’t written much about the so-called Palestinian “unity government” because, to be honest, it’s such a transparent fraud that the topic disgusts me. Here’s the latest episode in this clumsy attempt by a group of genocidal murderers to get the international money faucets turned back on: Palestinian unity govt ‘in three weeks’.

GAZA (Reuters) - Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh said on Friday he would form a Palestinian unity government within three weeks, but its future looked bleak after diplomats said Washington planned to boycott it and keep sanctions in place.

The United States has warned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that peace talks with Israel will go nowhere if his Fatah faction joins the agreed unity government with Hamas, the diplomats and Palestinian officials said.

Haniyeh was speaking a day after Abbas formally asked him to draw up the government. Palestinians hope it will end bitter factional warfare in which 90 people were killed, and lift economic sanctions.

“I am full of hope that we will be able to accomplish this (government) in less than three weeks,” Haniyeh told worshippers before Friday prayers in Gaza City.
