LGF Technical Update - Popups and RSS Traffic
I’ve tweaked the popup article descriptions a bit more, by inserting a quarter-second pause when the mouse hovers over a headline in our Ajax News Feeds section. This way, the popups only appear if you want them to, not if your mouse is just passing over on the way to something else.
The little comment excerpt that appears for the ‘last comment’ field on the front page now also uses the same Javascript popup method.
And an interesting statistic, from the logs for our RSS feed files: in addition to LGF’s normal traffic of 120-150 thousand pageviews a day, our RSS feeds are being loaded 78,000 times a day. Nearly 4,000 people are subscribed to our feeds with Google Reader.
