The Curse of the Sock Puppet

Glenn Greenwald again.

I know, I know; the legendary wielder of sock puppets; the left’s most dishonest blogger; I wouldn’t write anything more about this disingenuous self-appointed leftist attack sock, except I need to clarify something.

Here’s what Mr. Sock wrote:

UPDATE: Johnson is apparently embarrassed by this post becasue [sic] he has now re-directed all of the LGF links that come from here away from his blog, thus requiring that all the LGF links be re-directed through Google. While he found the time to do that, though, he has still not deleted the posts from his regular users expressing support for Al Qaeda plots to murder Jimmy Carter.

Note to Glenn: it’s not embarrassment. The posts are still there, as you can see, and as always they reflect only the opinions of the individuals who posted them. There’s serious doubt whether any of the ones you quoted rise to the level of hatred that showed up in Arianna’s readers’ Cheney-related comments. I don’t think they do, and I think most honest readers would agree. Those who know your history of posing as people you aren’t, and egregiously lying about your opponents, are well aware of why you write these attack pieces.

So it’s not embarrassment. Hmmm. What could it possibly be? Why would I redirect those links? Why would I take all of five seconds to do such a confusing and mysterious thing?

Have you considered the possibility I could be making fun of you?

(Here’s where I redirected his links—Wuzzadem’s classic sock puppet theater: He Said/He Said. Notice how quickly Greenwald fixed all the links in his Salon post when he saw what was happening. He was rushing so fast he made a simple typo. It’s the curse of the sock.)

 Frank says:

Throwing objects such as this are capable of damaging expensive musical equipment and musicians. Any more of this and there will be no more music. -- FZ, Autumn 1981 at Northrup auditorium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. After someone threw a plunger on stage about two-thirds of the way through the show, he stopped the band with a wave of his hand speaking in the general direction that the dangerous object was thrown, while holding it in his hand. This did not prove to be an amusing act and Franks mood hardened. - It was, however, an evening of excellent, serious musicianship around the release of 'Shut up and play your guitar'
