Wednesday Traffic Jam Thread

All I can say is, those poor, poor hamsters in server 1 are having a really rough time of it today. We not only have traffic still coming from fark.com, every lefty blog on the web decided to attack as well. I should have known better than to poke Murphy with a stick yesterday, and brag about the improvements from the database makeover. Murphy no like. Murphy smash!

The database conversion will pay off, however. The problem is that we have so much incoming traffic that the Apache server just runs out of connections. The DB makeover will also let us add new web servers, although the process is somewhat more complicated than adding new DB servers.

Anyway, here’s an open thread while the tsunami recedes.
