LGF Makeover: Pagination

The reaction to my idea for a feature that would show the currently logged in users was decidedly mixed, with many good arguments on both sides, so I’ve decided to hold off on this for now until all the ramifications can be properly assessed.
Here’s another question for the Lizard Army: I have a very nice little pagination class that I’ve developed for the search and ‘Show All Entries’ pages, and now that all the content is dynamically generated it wouldn’t be very difficult to add pagination to the comments pages. In English, that means that comments would be broken into chunks of (say) 50 or 100, with links at the top and bottom to let you navigate through the list of pages. But if you think about what it means in practice, many issues come up. I have my own list, but rather than tell you my concerns I’m tossing this out to the Army for discussion.
