 RetweetIBD: PBS' Homage To Islamism

Tue, Apr 24, 2007 at 9:02:39 am PDT

Investor’s Business Daily is one of the very few mainstream media outlets that doesn’t shy away from honest discussion of the Islamist threat, and here’s another example in an editorial about PBS’ ridiculously whitewashed documentaries on Islam in America: PBS’ Homage To Islamism.

PBS just aired a “documentary” intended to chronicle “the diversity of Muslim life in America.” So why does it give so much face time to anti-American Islamists?

Secular Muslims who want to reform Islam are nowhere to be found in producer Robert MacNeil’s film, “The Muslim Americans,” part of a PBS series called “America at a Crossroads.” Instead, extremists masquerading as moderates are lionized.

Take Sheik Hamza Yusuf, who has a starring role. According to MacNeil, the California imam preaches “tolerance” and “peace,” and even hiply incorporates the “Super Bowl” into his sermons. This, we are told, is the progressive face of Islam in America.

To prove Yusuf’s bona fides as a moderate and a patriot, MacNeil notes that he was one of the Muslim clerics invited to the White House after 9/11. But he leaves out the fact that just two days before the attacks, the same imam suggested in a speech to Muslims that America deserved severe punishment.

“This country is facing a terrible fate,” Yusuf said in California on Sept. 9, 2001. “The reason for that is that this country stands condemned like Europe stood condemned because of what it did. And lest people forget that Europe suffered two world wars after conquering the Muslim lands, Europe’s countries were devastated, they were completely destroyed. Their young people killed.”

(Hat tip: LGF readers.)

..."And lest people forget that Europe suffered two world wars after conquering the Muslim lands, Europe’s countries were devastated, they were completely destroyed. Their young people killed.”

Proving, once again, that you can create any historical analogy you like, and it won't mean anything.

The world wars had nothing to do with the conquest of islamic countries. That is very, very weak.

A Palestinian man was seriously injured on Tuesday in an explosion in his home in the Gaza Strip town of Jabalya.

The blast was seemingly the result of an accident which occurred while the man was working with explosive material, Israel Radio reported.

Wisconsin's Ward Churchill discovers "9/11 keymaster";

World Trade Center custodian tells heroic 9/11 rescue tale

The last man alive out of the World Trade Center’s North Tower Sept. 11 2001, janitor William Rodriguez, told his story of survival and heroism Saturday at a lecture sponsored by the Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth.
---
Rodriguez’s visit was sparked by an invite from UW lecturer and 9/11 conspiracy theorist, Kevin Barrett.

Barrett said Rodriguez wrote to him, and wanted to visit to “set the record straight,” after the College Republicans hosted a 9/11 survivor in March and much of the talk surrounded Barrett’s conspiracy theories.

He is the custodian of truth that can save the world—he is the 9/11 key master —the key to unlocking the truth,” Barrett said of Rodriguez.

He will come in one of the pre-chosen forms. During the rectification of the Vuldrini, the traveler came as a large and moving Torg! Then, during the third reconciliation of the last of the McKetrick supplicants, they chose a new form for him: that of a giant Slor! Many Shuvs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Slor that day, I can tell you!

This sort of PBS whitewash with omission of fundamental facts is all part and parcel of the soft porn "truther" / Michael Moore paradigm that there is no Radical Islamist threat.

There they go- they are telling us what they will do to us again- when will we get everyone to pay attention?

We in The West try very hard to keep from thinking about conquering anything. Some of us are even ashamed that our culture is so successful and powerful that most of the conquest we do these days is of the non-violent, social and cultural kind. There are any number of leftists who speak of western “cultural hegemony” as if it were a bad thing. They bemoan the loss of native cultures and the metastasization of Hollywood product around the globe while ignoring that fact that the reason why it is happening is that our culture is dominant for good reasons- it offers better protection for the less powerful and it provides better economic opportunity than any other. It is fine for leftists and progressives to bemoan the spread of democracy and capitalism but precious few of them would want to live under any of the alternatives. It is, still, a conquer or be conquered world but we are so used to having our own way and becoming dominant wherever in the world we happen to be that we have forgotten how hard the fight for survival can be and how quickly it can turn desperate. We really need to keep reminding ourselves that just because we no longer have the urge to conquer that no one else does.

Needless to say it was the usual Lefty factiods and even Rosie fatass Odonell was mentioned as a truther as well.

I was laughing at the typical Lefty accusations of the Right not looking into the facts when their stupidity shows all over the comments they leave that its the Left who wont/doesnt look into the actual facts. They just believe whatever the MSM and the wacky conspiracy nuts spit out.

Talk about projection.

This to address people's concern about the Left's appearence of gaining power and numbers against conservatives of all fronts. Keep this in mind. Even though the left generates more donated moneies, has the majority MSM's full backing, has more blog sites dedicated to Progressive Liberal agenedas, have control of Democratic leaders who do their will, and out number political conservatives more than 3:1...

Keep in mind they fear us more than anything else in the world! Even more than the real enemies.

Why? Most conservatives are too busy producing the goods and services that make this world move. The left desperately requires us to give up to their will in order to enslave us for their collectivist efforts. They can't survive without our consent and our minds. The Left does not stand for anything, They are a Black Hole and like a black hole will suck all resources into an abyss.

When conservatives do manage to raise money. It's put to productive use. What they fear most is our recognition of this fact.

NYC Radio Hosts Suspended for Prank Call

NEW YORK - Still recovering from the Don Imus scandal, CBS Radio suspended two local shock jocks after they twice broadcast a racially charged prank call to employees at a Chinese restaurant.

The hosts of the daily morning show, WFNY-FM's "The Dog House With JV and Elvis," have been suspended indefinitely without pay, CBS Radio spokeswoman Karen Mateo told The New York Times in an e-mail Monday. One of the hosts, Jeff Vandergrift, apologized on Monday's show, she said.

Local chapters of the Organization of Chinese Americans, an advocacy group, released a statement Sunday protesting the segment. By Monday, California state Sen. Leland Yee and others joined the campaign.

In the segment, broadcast on April 5 - a day after the infamous Imus comment on CBS - and again last week, a caller to a Chinese restaurant intersperses an order for takeout with lewd language.

The caller tells one female employee he wants to come to the restaurant to see her naked and refers to a part of her body as "hot, Asian, spicy." The caller also attempts to order "shrimp flied lice."

The show's hosts, Vandergrift and Dan Lay, have been campaigning online and on the air in support of Imus since his firing for calling the Rutgers University women's basketball team "nappy-headed hos" on April 4.

A CBS Radio spokeswoman did not immediately respond to telephone and e-mail messages from The Associated Press late Monday.

Community advocates pushed for CBS to fire the hosts of the show, which can be heard only in the New York City area and on the Internet.

"If they don't fire the DJ's, it will be a double standard," said Vicki Shu Smolin, president of the New York City chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans.

Apart from the Islam vs. Islamist debate generally, there's the question of what to believe about "moderates" like Yusuf. Regarding his earlier anti-west, antisemitic rhetoric, supposedly Yusuf's repented since 9/11: The Guardian held him out as something of a reformer, attracting the ire of the Islamists.

Yes, consider the source, including Yusuf himself. Radical Muslims can espouse wildly contrary positions depending on their audience.

Consider too that President Bush's staff would have thoroughly vetted Yusuf. Whatever the FBI might have suspected in the confusion immediately following 9/11, presumably they found nothing incriminating.

So the question is: does anyone know the truth about Yusuf?

Funny how these people always leave out the Muslim conquests of Europe. They are still mad that the Spaniards kicked them out in 1492, and they still think they are entitled to Spain and that it is a major injustice that they do not have it now.

Frank (the producer) is on Limbaugh's show atm

Yeah, and I heard him giving out the phone number to call PBS and tell them what they thought about their handling of this "Islamists vs Islam" film... and I rubbed my hands together with glee thinking "Oh yes, their PBX is gonna melt! Muahahahaha!"

The substitute-teacher guy hosting on Rush's show today just stated that he'd not intended, or expected, him to give out those phone numbers on the air, and about had a conniption fit when he heard the numbers being given... and wasn't in a position to bleep him or to tell him not to...

I heard him say that, and thought, "But... but... I'm glad he gave out those numbers!"

Anyway, hopefully their PBX did melt! :-D

The US State Department has been staffed by uber-leftists since the 1960s. It is about on a par with the UN. I say, scrub both of them clean with industrial solvents, and then let's decide whether we want them to come back.

"Their message seems to be that anyone who dares to express any concern about Islam is simply hysterical or a racist."

Meaningless names.

I have utter contempt for islam. If that makes me "hysterical" or "racist", then I wear the labels proudly.

"I watched the first episode of Crossroads. It could have been written by the muslim brotherhood."

Maybe it was.

Pity they were just arrested. British courts, of course, will let them off in short order. There was a time when such treasonous and vile filth would have suffered "accidents," or at least been deported. Nowadays, they are made into celebrities and are the toast of the town.

..."And lest people forget that Europe suffered two world wars after conquering the Muslim lands, Europe’s countries were devastated, they were completely destroyed. Their young people killed.”

Proving, once again, that you can create any historical analogy you like, and it won't mean anything.

It's far, far worse than that. When he talks about "conquering Muslim lands", I have no doubt he includes the liberation of Spain, Greece, the Balkans, and Italy (among others).

I'm not a fan of any islamist, but I hear stuff like that in bapist churches - the country is condemned, its immoral, god will punish us, etc - a lot. That alone is not proof that you're an islamofascist.
