The Ron Paul Phenomenon
The emails from Ron Paul supporters continue to pour in, including a very long, incredibly tedious “9/11 was an inside job” rant from a Canadian. In between expletives and ad hominems, many of these emailers tell me I’m dead wrong and/or lying about the poll spamming, that Paul really does have a massive groundswell of support, a phenomenon unparalleled in US history, and that our silly internet poll is merely a reflection of this majestic reality. (And then there’s Andrew Sullivan.)
But if it’s true, wouldn’t you expect Paul to get more than 2% somewhere in some non-internet poll? You know, a real poll, with real statistics gathering and analysis methods?
Any poll?
Here are all the released polls to date at pollingreport.com. On most of them, Paul gets 1% or less: WH2008: Republicans.
2% max.
Reality. It’s a beautiful thing. (Sometimes.)
