Judging from the photo on their flyer:

I never knew how much Minneapolis looks like Mecca.

16 sushiisusii  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:24:21pm

can you say "high value target"?

17 mama winger  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:25:15pm

Okay - this baffles me . Why Minnesota ? I mean, Minnesota has always been a little left of center (Hubert Humphrey, Walter Mondale) but still - it is a state filled with hard-working people, lots of them farmers ands sons of immigrants from Northern Europe. These are solid Midwesterners.

Why Minnesota ? How did muslims get there ? When I spent summers there as a child it was lily-white Lutheran-land.

18 M. Murcek  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:25:16pm

Gee, how come my religion (Lutheran) doesn't have a front group to tell everyone who doesn't believe like me that they are haters?

22 psaturn  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:26:55pm

So they show Mecca...

And you know that only Muslims can go there...

contrast that with the Vatican...anyone can go there or even any Christian churches.

How about the Western Wall, the holiest Jewish site in the world? Anyone can go there...I did and I am a Christian!

23 akak  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:26:58pm
For Yasin, terrorist bombings in Bali are justified by hundreds of years of Western oppression of Muslims.
24 astronmr20  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:27:02pm

can you say "high value target"?

"Target rich environment" is more the phrase you're looking for - not much of 'high value' in there, I'm thinking.
And, natch, if we talk of "targeting" innocents, we're pure evil.
They boast of actaully doing it, and they're heros. It's a doubel standard, man, but that's the way it is.
Cute nic, btw.

That is a very good question.

Ellison is a "black muslim," having jack squat to do with "real" islam.

Not neccesarily. Black Muslims have a serious case of stockholm symdrome, imo. They're motivated and indoctrinated by the same religion that sold their ancestors into slavery originally, slavery that still goes on to this day all over the Islamic world (without the black Muslim's ire or mere disappoval).

53 Ben Hur  Thu, May 24, 2007 2:35:10pm
She then continues by echoing the question asked by her own mother upon her conversion, "What kind of woman would want to be a Muslim, afterall they are oppressed!" So Dr. Killinger debunks this myth by outling the status of women in pre-Islamic Arabia and how Islam liberated and dignified them by giving them rights which are still upheld to this day.

Hopeless romantic.

Time to relocate closer to cold beer, but before I go...

Quote of the Day

"She reminds us that in 1787, two days before their work was done, the
55 delegates to the Constitutional Convention "adjourned to a tavern for
some rest, and according to the bill they drank 54 bottles of Madeira,
60 bottles of claret, 8 of whiskey, 22 of port, 8 of hard cider and 7
bowls of punch so large that, it was said, ducks could swim around in
them. Then they went back to work and finished founding the new Republic."

- Robert Harris, quoting Barbara Holland in a review of Holland's
recently published book The Joy of Drinking.

I think this explains that no quartering troops in the house thing.

It's a real toss up as to who sits on their asses more.

No kidding, PA is currently my home state... Taxes are high, insurance is thru the roof, and the roads suck...

The local drive time radio host keeps hammering home that 36% of the State's revenues (collected from da' peoples via taxes of course) goes toward welfare in this State.

Only in Pennsyltucky can a person who almost single-handedly bankrupted Philadelphia's school system, be elected TWICE to govern over ALL 501 districts in the state.

Having said that...recently there have been signs of life here. 2 elections ago, we ousted a sitting Supreme Court Judge and almost de-throned another. Also, just last week we told Gov. Ed Spendell to stuff his Act 1 "tax shift" proposal.

/Rendell and Pa government rant off

Hopefully, we won't be seeing an influx of...ROP'ers of the explosive bent.

Saudis arrest Christian for entering Mecca

Saudi officials have arrested a man in Mecca for being a Christian, saying that the city, which Muslims consider to be holy, is off-limits to non-Muslims.

Nirosh Kamanda, a Sri Lankan Christian, was detained by the Saudi Expatriates Monitoring Committee last week after he started to sell goods outside Mecca's Great Mosque.

After running his fingerprints through a new security system, Saudi police discovered that he was a Christian who had arrived in the country six months earlier to take a job as a truck driver in the city of Dammam. Kamanda had subsequently left his place of work and moved to Mecca.

"The Grand Mosque and the holy city are forbidden to non-Muslims," Col. Suhail Matrafi, head of the department of Expatriates Affairs in Mecca, told the Saudi daily Arab News. "The new fingerprints system is very helpful and will help us a lot to discover the identity of a lot of criminals," he said.

From an ad trying to flog a lecture on DVD by Dr. Lisa Killinger, yet another “revert”:

…This lecture serves as a tool to help in this great challenge as Dr. Lisa Killinger, an Amercian convert to Islam, shares her experiences with non-Muslims both before and after September 11th. She opens by telling her story of how she discovered Islam in 1979 on the Iowa State University campus. She then continues by echoing the question asked by her own mother upon her conversion, "What kind of woman would want to be a Muslim, after all they are oppressed!" So Dr. Killinger debunks this myth by outling the status of women in pre-Islamic Arabia and how Islam liberated and dignified them by giving them rights which are still upheld to this day. Some of the rights she discusses in this talk: the right to vote, to inheritence, to divorce, to the use of birth control, to marriage to whomever is desired, and to an education. Nevertheless, the actions of some Muslims may speak to the contrary but, as the speaker reminds the audience, these actions must be distinguished from the teachings of the religion itself. All too often the cultural practices of a person get confused with the religious practices. The speaker also looks at the example of Aslamia: the first female physician in Islam, modesty and the head-covering common to all the Abrahamic faiths, the example of Khadijah, how to explain polygamy to others, Islamic prohibitions that benefit women, non-Muslim attitudes about hijab (head covering), and the role of Muslim women in a non-Muslim society. The lecture is concluded with Dr. Killinger sharing the results of a post-9/11 survey about non-Muslim perceptions of Muslim women.

I got my first taste of Minnesotans while going to the Univ of ND. The friends I had in my nursing class that were from ND were solid conservatives. Because of the Geographical location, we had a bunch of students that were from Minn. We would get into all kinds of debates and those from Minn were as moonbatty as they come.

Our psych rotation really brought out their liberalism. It was truly disturbing to see a girl crying about a rape case, only to discover that she was crying for the rapist being sent to prison rather than his victim. She actually said "what about help for him, he obviously is mentally ill". Her reason for diagnosing him as mentally ill...why because he raped someone and nobody would do that unles they were mentally ill. I'm never moving to Minnesota I can tell you that! Oh yea, and the case was in the media about the woman in South Carolina that drowned her two little boys, the minn moonbats felt so very sorry for her too.

I'd have to say it's Minnesota because basically, the Leftist nature of the Twin Cities makes Massachusetts look like Wyoming! Rockwell says:
The term "Islamofascist" is utterly without meaning, but packed with emotional explosives. It is a propaganda creation worthy Dr. Goebbels, and the latest expression of the big lie technique being used by neocons in Washington’s propaganda war against its enemies in the Muslim World.

This ugly term was probably first coined in Israel – as was the other hugely successful propaganda term, "terrorism" – to dehumanize and demonize opponents and deny them any rational political motivation, hence removing any need to deal with their grievances and demands.

Nice. This is not the first time I have seen this claim.
It is obviously untrue, Lets look.

Wiki
Main article: History of terrorism
The modern English term "terrorism" dates back to 1795 when it was used to describe the actions of the Jacobin Club in their rule of post-Revolutionary France, the so-called "Reign of Terror".

Hmm no ISraelis ther.
ISlamofascism
According to Roger Scruton of the Wall Street Journal, the term was introduced by the French Marxist Maxime Rodinson to describe the Iranian Revolution of 1978[17].
The origins of the term are unclear but appear to date back to an article which was published on September 8, 1990 in The Independent. In the article, "Construing Islam as a language," Malise Ruthven wrote:
“ Nevertheless there is what might be called a political problem affecting the Muslim world. In contrast to the heirs of some other non-Western traditions, including Hinduism, Shintoism and Buddhism, Islamic societies seem to have found it particularly hard to institutionalise divergences politically: authoritarian government, not to say Islamo-fascism, is the rule rather than the exception from Morocco to Pakistan.

Doesn't seem to be an Israeli invention either.
why do moonbats say that anyway ?
