RetweetDay of Prayer: Muslims Raging Worldwide

Fri, Jun 22, 2007 at 7:48:18 am PDT

It’s the day of prayer for Muslims, and that means worldwide rage over Sir Salman Rushdie, as Islamic leaders incite their followers with calls for Rushdie’s death: Rushdie fatwa looms again amid new protests.

“In Islamic Iran, the revolutionary fatwa issued by Imam Khomeini remains valid and cannot be modified,” leading Iranian cleric Hojatoleslam Ahmad Khatami said during his Friday prayers sermon in Tehran.

“The old and decrepit government of Great Britain should know that the era of their empire is over and today they are a valet in the service of the United States,” Khatami added.

Khomeini’s successor as supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said in January 2005 he still believed the British novelist was an apostate whose killing would be authorised by Islam. ...

Business in Srinagar, the summer capital of Indian Kashmir, ground to a halt Friday as traders heeded calls by Islamic militants to strike over the award. Shops in the main market were shuttered following the call by hardline separatist group Jamiat-ul-Mujahedin, although there was little impact in other parts of Kashmir.

“The Kashmiri nation has to rise in one voice to show resentment against the shameful decision (to award the knighthood) by observing a complete shutdown,” said Jamiat spokesman Jameel Ahmed.

In Pakistan, demonstrators took to the streets in several cities. Around 300 people in Islamabad, watched over by riot police carrying batons and shields, chanted “Our struggle will continue until Salman Rushdie is killed!”

“Britain must withdraw the knighthood and hand Rushdie to Pakistan to be punished under Islamic laws,” Fazalur Rehman, a pro-Taliban cleric and leader of the parliamentary opposition, told the protesters.

Hey, Islamists aren't just about issuing fatwas.

They're also busy bestowing the Sword of Islam on Osama.

The Pakistan Ulema Council has given bin Laden the title "saifullah," or sword of Allah, the council's chairman said yesterday.

"If a blasphemer can be given the title 'sir' by the West despite the fact he's hurt the feelings of Muslims, then a mujahid [Muslim holy warrior] who has been fighting for Islam against the Russians, Americans and British must be given the lofty title of Islam, saifullah," the chairman, Tahir Ashrafi, said.

These people frighten me because although they're absolutely out of their f*cking minds they are willing to die for their insane beliefs. The more I read and learn about Islam the more I see them like the pre-WWII Japanese. After a huge loss of life, the Japanese understood that we had no compunction in killing as many of them as we had to until they surrendered. I'm afraid that the only way to get the Muslims to become "moderate" is to give them the only thing that they truly understand – death.

Speaking of Kashmir, former "rebel" injured by a cigarette bomb.

SRINAGAR, India (Reuters) - A former Kashmiri rebel was wounded when a tiny detonator planted in a cigarette by suspected militants exploded when he lit it up in a police station, a newspaper report said Thursday.

The small blast, the first of its kind in the revolt-torn Himalayan region, took place in a remote village of Doda district where Mohammad Rafiq had surrendered to police, the Daily Excelsior said.

Separatist militants fighting Indian rule in the disputed region since 1989 frequently target their former colleagues who surrender to the police or the army.

"The small detonator, planted inside the cigarette, exploded when Rafiq was smoking, causing him minor injuries. He has been hospitalized," the newspaper quoted a senior police officer as saying.

Weather fairly dull today, although maybe one or two tornadoes in Iowa or Illinois, but probably slower than yesterday. And the tropics are quiet

Tornado risk for Iowa and Illinois isn't all that high.

Tropical cyclone has moved inland in Andrah Pradesh, and the Indians have down-graded it to a tropical depression.

Yurpian Community model says a much more significant cyclone slams Northeast India about this time next week.

Caribbean and Gulf fairly quiet as seen in Channel 2 IR loop.

The main part of the Western Caribbean tropical wave has crossed Panama into the Pacific, and I am hoping the Northern end North of Honduras might try to do something, but the shear is less than favorable.

The non-tropical low off Florida is having its deep thunderstorms sheared off to the East by unfavorable Westerlies in the upper levels.

There is still a weak surface low East of Melbourne, but it is being sheared and is now losing its circular appearance, and degenerating into a trough as seen on the Florida visible loop

BTW, none of the modesl predict tropical cyclone formation in the Atlantic, which makes complete sense, however, many models carry the Northern piece of the tropical wave that is now near Honduras up into the Gulf, bringing generous rains to the Gulf, possibly between Texas and Alabama.

Epidemic of Domestic Violence hits England

(Only in the last paragraphs does the report mention "honour" in "Asian" families.)

Doctors' leaders warned of an "unspoken epidemic" of domestic abuse today, which they described as ultimately unquantifiable because some victims were not believed while others did not realise the abuse they suffered was a crime.

A new report from the British Medical Association says domestic abuse - which mostly affects women, but also some men - needs urgent attention and calls for doctors to be trained to spot victims and help them.

***
The report calls for health professionals to be aware of the potential for abuse in ethnic minority groups, where the breach of codes of honour may be punished by violence. For example, it says, women in some Asian families may be expected to tolerate abuse by their husband rather than seek help or leave the family home.

Domestic abuse can take place in forced marriages, where the partners have been coerced and do not know each other and may not have consented to the arrangement. In extreme cases, "honour crimes" may take place, which can involve violence and even killings.

What the fuck?

Pakistani traders offered a reward of 10 million rupees (165,000 dollars) late Thursday for anyone who beheads Rushdie, while a group of Islamic scholars awarded Osama bin Laden their highest honour in a tit-for-tat move.

Got that? Rushdie is as offensive to "Islamic scholars" as Bin Laden is to civilized people; therefore, it's the same thing.

:Charles has made all these wonderful changes to LGF, so I thought it'd be nice if we had some way measure islamic reaction to current events as they unfold. This is my new Acme 2000 Seeth-o-meter, BooBoo.

:Wow Yogi, how's it work?

:Well BooBoo, you just take this moderate muslim out of the box and insert this probe in his ass, and then we can calibrate it.

:First we show him a picture of the pope, aaannd yep, the meter went to 10. Then we zero him out.

:uumma...uumma...uumma...caliphate...caliphate...c aliphate...Aisha...Aisha...
Aisha. There we go, got him reading a nice flat 0.

:Then we show him "The Satanic Verses", and yep we got a 7.5 on the meter. He's calibrated and ready to go.

:That's great Yogi, it must have cost a lot.

:Nope, Acme discontinued this model. They couldn't get enough moderate muslims to meet production. They replaced it with the 2000R, but it's a lot harder to calibrate, BooBoo.

:Why's that, Yogi.

:Stick a probe up a radical muslim's ass and you'll find out BooBoo.

The red sign in the third pic from the top... is the Islamic Rage Boy in question angry at the "MSM"? Or is the message something like "Please, MSM, be sure to broadcast our image"?

(Also, the big-lettered message right over that appears to read, "RUSHDIE dropped a DOOKIE in the Islamic toilet!" Of course, I'm extrapolating a bit.)

Imam: It doesn't matter. Just get out there and do your best seething... especially you, Rage-Boy. We're counting on you.

#29 AW 6/22/2007 8:00:28 am PDT

Can someone who has read the Satanic Verses explain why the Muslims are so offended by it?

Because it quotes what Muhammed said in the Koran, AW:

"Allah" is a pagan moon-god that had three daughters by the sun goddess. Allah, the moon god, was married to the sun goddess. Together, they produced three goddesses called 'the daughters of Allah'. These three goddesses names were Al-Lat, Al-Uzza and Manat. It can be said, "Allah has no son." But also said, “he did have three daughters."

Muhammad substantiated this in the Quran in Sura 53:18-20: "Verily, he saw one of his Lord's greatest signs. Have you thought on Al-Lat and Al-Uzza. And Manat, the third, the other?"

The Muslims HATE it when people bring this up because it is written in the Koran. There is nothing that they can say about it...except to kill people that mention it. They either have to admit that theirs is a pagan religion, based upon pagan ideas & teachings, or kill anyone that would bring it up.

Read the rest of it (click here)

It's pretty sickening, really, when you think about it: Millions of people all over the world are living in misery & poverty all so that an ancient non-existent pagan Arabian moon-god can be venerated...

" The Quran...has been sheltered and (whoever) dared to challenge it, in Muslim countries, face prison or death. It fails the test of truth when looked at closely.

It takes a fool to believe that the sun rises out of a spring (well) in the east and sets in another in the west. In Muhammad's time, the earth was thought of as flat but the God of the Bible knew better.

Look at what the God of the Bible says;
Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:

Notice that the God of the Bible knew the earth to be circular. Compare what the god of the Quran says;
Sura 18:83 they will ask you about Dhu'l-Qaynayn. (supposedly Alexander the Great) Say, “I shall recite unto you a remembrance of him.' 84. Assuredly, We made him mighty in the land, and gave him the means to all things.85. One such way he followed.86. Until he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a pool of opaque water and found people around it...
89. Then he followed another way.90.Until he came to the rising place of the sun...

There was a time when ignorant men could believe this sort of thing but time is past. Only the simple embrace such nonsense. "

This is why you'll never see a watch or cell phone for sale that was made in a Muslim country. Work is for women and the very, very young. Sure, Pakistan has highly skilled gunsmiths. But that's an anomoly, and mostly due to the gravitas that comes with the profession.

In 1994/95 I did fiber optic cable design/engineering for Riyadh Telephone Cables in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Virtually the entire workforce consisted of imported Indians, Philippinos, and Pakistanis. The company was owned by a Syrian family, ostensibly in competition with SCC (Saudi Cable Company) owned by the House of Saud. In the fiber optics plant there was no latrine, merely a hole in the ground behind the manufacturing plant. Well, two holes.

There was one telephone, jealously guarded by the Plant Manager, an Egyptian. He was OK. I sorta liked him, but he was occasionally cruel to his employees. I don't know why. There was no reason.

The plant was idle in the afternoon by order of the King to preserve electricity. Muslims were called to prayer 7 times a day. In my hotel room, on the wall, there was an embossing of a pointing finger with the words 'To Mecca' in Arabic and English, pointing towards Mecca, so one would know in which direction to pray. It was the Salidin Hotel, which I believe was where Dan Rather reported from the rooftop during Gulf War 1. The food was extremely good. However, whenever a member of the Royal Family was scheduled to visit, I was forced to stay in my room, and food was brought up. Otherwise I was often one of perhaps only 10 or 12 at the most who would eat at the hotel restaurant. There would be ice sculptures, lamb, vegetable, fruit, and dessert presentations worthy of a 5-star restaurant. I couldn't understand how they were staying in business. Still don't know how. I always had some attendant standing directly behind my chair ready to fill my glass or take away an empty dish immediately. Very troubling.

To sum up---all work in this cultural center of the Middle East---Saudi Arabia, is done by outsiders. The Saudis don't do anything themselves. At least, not that I witnessed. I was subjected to some level of animous at times due to the fact I was not Middle Eastern, but obviously Western, and so probably not Muslim. At that time, though, some of the Saudis were still kindly inclined to America and many couldn't understand why George Bush, Sr. wasn't re-elected. As a population they don't think they should have to work for a living.

All of the above is to answer the question, why are these people seething? The Devil finds work for idle hands.

The Rushdie Production: A review.

Set/Props/Costumes: 2/5
I've seen this same look before in other productions. Nothing new here. The signs in arabic don't appeal to a world audience. This production really needed a fresh look to seperate itself from others. It gets a 2 though for the excellent beard work from the makeup team.

Content/Story: 1/5
Again, the tried and true format of a people being 'maligned' in some odd way begins the protaginists fight for resolution. It's wearing thin. Been seen in many recent productions worldwide. No love interests, no betrayls, the story just falls flat.

Special Effects/Action: 2/5
Someone please show this production the door to the 21st century. No high-tech pyrotechnics or computer animations. Just a little bit of fire and some hand drawn signs. The action is just lame. No street battles, no government crackdowns, just a bunch of unemployed men shaking fists and shouting.

Acting: 5/5
Top notch acting in this production. The intensity of the performances is really the only redeeming quality. You can almost feel the hatred seeping out of every one of their pores. Such conviction in every scene, such command of emotions - well really only one emotion - hate. The infamous Islamic Rage Boy has the leading role and he does not disappoint. He puts on a show as if his life depends on it (maybe it does). Kudos to the acting talent displayed here. I hope Hollywood is watching because there are some future A-listers in this production.

Overall: 2/5
The excellent acting and even Islamic Rage Boy cannot pull this production out of the pit of a horribly overdone story, bad costumes and set work, and virtually no action. Skip it, everything here has been done before.

No western country is going to extradite a citizen/legal resident (I'm not actually sure what Rushdie's status is in the UK) to a third country to stand trial for something they don't even recognize as a crime. I'm fairly certain that blasphemy is not considered a crime in the UK today.

Also, the Brits won't extradite anyone to stand trial even when the charges are valid if the possible sentence would be death.

I am confused. I thought islam was a religion of peace. Why are all these IRBs running about with "Death to someone we really don't like" on their signs?

Why are there IRBs?

If islam is a religion of peace, then shouldn't there be no IRBs? IRBs are islamic rage boys.

If islam is a death cult of intolerance and hatred, IRB would fit right in.

Have they ever read Sir Rushdie's works, before proclaiming a death sentance upon him? Was his writing really that horrifically bad?

Is islam able to deal with challenges without loping peoples heads off?

With every IRB that seethes and screams, shows signs demanding blood, and proclaiming unbridled hatred, the myth of islam as a tolerant religion is further subsumed by its reality as a fanatical death cult.

Not all followers of islam are like this. Some are genuinely nice and peaceful people. Enough aren't so that our airports need extra protection, our subways need bomb sniffing dogs, our soft targets need protecting.

This low barrier to radicalization, to formation of the IRB state is troubling. In the distant future, some muslim somewhere will feel aggrieved after getting an ingrown toenail, and launch jihad on someone's ass.

At some point, civilized society is going to say "no, we are done with this shit." That time is getting very close. What happens after that? I don't know, though I bet that people whom have been abusing their "civil rights" will find themselves without any, and all the consequences that this has.

Ordinary people are sick beyond belief of the shit that we have to go through thanks to aggrieved muslims. They have made an impact in the world. Not one any civilized group should be proud of. IRB shows us that the best policy may be containment of the contigen. Quarantine. Prevent it from escaping past where it is, so it does not infect.

I take it I am not alone in this erosion of my tolerance. If the wave of reaction is big enough when it breaks I think I shall just let myself be washed along with the majority.

Do they have a central casting where they can go to get the most bizzare individuals to protest?

I'm guessing the ones who want their picture taken really have to ham it up to ever get noticed by the MSM photographers. Thus the litany of extreme rage facial expressions right on queue. I bet they screen for the most intense ragers in the crowd and then egg those people on to rage really big for the camera.

You know when I hit my head on something by mistake, it does tend to make me angry and put me in a foul mood for a while. Now imagine how angry someone might get after hitting their head into the ground over and over again on purpose just because everyone else is doing it.

Look at the foreheads on the adults in the crowd. I see the prayer bump indentations on just about every one. Actual dents in the skulls from repeatedly slamming ones head into the ground.

Man, that can't be good for the ol' gray matter. So, The more devout a Muslim is, the more they pray and slam their head into the ground and the stupider and brainless they get. Sometimes the simplest explanation is the best.

How very sad.

God Save the Queen.

You may have something there with your head-slamming theory.

Certainly humans do not have the sophisticated brain suspension and cushioning that woodpeckers have.

I clipped this from a site about mild head trauma that can lead to brain issues... Check out the list of symptoms.

BEHAVIORAL CHANGES:

Irritability
Angry outbursts
Rapidly changeable mood
Disinhibition
Poor social judgement
Anxiety
Depression

HA. If I asked people to describe a Muslim crowd after Friday prayers, thats a pretty good list starter, no?

Am I the only one who notices that these asshats would usually have the gendarmes smashing their heads in for demonstrating against their country, but make it the west and they are barking their little heads off with their "professionally" done posters, pictures or banners. (esp the portraits of their "heroes")

Does anyone know where they get their sharpies and poster board?

Mitch-head banging is one thing, actually I believe its more like forehead rubbing, but what about the sleep deprivation:

Muslims pray 5 times in every 24 hours. That means no devout Muslim ever has in their lifetime a complete cycle of 8 hrs sleep. You cannot divide 24 by 5 and get 8! That 8 hrs is not just a cultural norm. Its been found to be biologically necessary for normal neurological function. Devout Muslims are in a permanent state of sleep disruption if not deprivation. You know what that feels like and how it feks up ones thought processes?

Then theres the practice of waking up your kids every few hours to make them pray. Is that not child abuse? And how young do they start making them pray?

I used to share a flat with a Mossie and he was praying all night long it often seemed. And I live near a mosque to which the areas taxi-drivers go to pray...like I say, on and off all night through. Theres one in particular who parks up opposite my windows, goes to pray, then is off again. 5 times hardly cuts it. I reckon the really devout ones fit prayers in whenever they are not otherwise occupied.

I wonder how many have actually read Rushdie's book.
