Lefty blogs are buzzing like foul-mouthed bees over the poll showing nearly 50% in favor of impeaching President Bush.

Without getting into the possible bias in the questions and methodology, what this poll really shows is not that Bush is about to be impeached. It shows a rather disturbing amount of ignorance in the people surveyed, who obviously don’t realize that Presidents aren’t impeached just because they’re unpopular. “Bush lied, millions died!” is not a conviction of a high crime or misdemeanor; it’s an opinion—for some, a highly irrational opinion.
