Here’s an ominous note that makes perfect sense as the United States appears to be on the brink of a complete surrender and retreat from Iraq, cheered on by the largest mainstream newspapers. Clearly, Turkey is preparing for that eventuality and the genocidal chaos that will ensue, by amassing an army on the Iraqi border—either to make a move on Kurdistan when the US leaves, or simply for their own protection.

UPDATE at 7/9/07 10:04:03 am:

In another disturbing move, Syria has sent troops three kilometers into Lebanon.
