YALA, Thailand (AFP) - Two Muslim men were killed Sunday in drive-by shootings in the latest violence in Thailand’s insurgency-hit south, police said.
A 45-year-old Islamic religion teacher was shot dead at a morning market early Sunday in Yala province, one of three hit by separatist unrest that has claimed more than 2,400 lives, police said.His wife was injured in the attack and taken to hospital, police added.
In neighbouring Narathiwat province, a 51-year-old railway worker was killed at the morning market.
