Islamists and Leftists Converge at The Nation

Here’s the hit piece on the military at The Nation, quoted in that despicable “Killitary” post: The Other War: Iraq Vets Bear Witness.

Notice who wrote this article: Chris Hedges, author of the discredited anti-Israel article “The Gaza Diaries,” and … none other than the daughter of Islamic Jihad kingpin Sami Al-Arian, Laila Al-Arian. Nice company they’re keeping at The Nation.

Michelle Malkin suggests that the Democrat candidates at tonight’s debate should be asked why they’re attending the YearlyKos convention, when insane anti-military garbage like this is standard fare at Daily Kos. (But they won’t be.)

UPDATE at 7/23/07 9:02:28 am:

Here’s another example of the anti-military wing of Daily Kos, in a post from February of this year that remains on the site: Daily Kos: Arkin Was Right - We Do Have a Mercenary Army and They Do Owe Us!

UPDATE at 7/23/07 9:07:01 am:

Jules Crittenden weighs in on the Hedges/Al-Arian article: Psycho-Death Cult.

UPDATE at 7/23/07 9:43:01 am:

The military blogger at The Shield of Achilles has an excellent response to the Hedges hit piece: …and Disinformation from ‘The Nation’.

UPDATE at 7/23/07 10:54:50 am:

And don’t forget zombie’s coverage of the debate between Hedges and Christopher Hitchens: Christopher Hitchens vs. Chris Hedges Debate.
