SWAT Teams Swarm Oakland Muslim Bakery

Fri, Aug 3, 2007 at 10:01:00 am PDT

SWAT Teams Swarm ‘Your Black Muslim Bakery’.

EMERYVILLE, Calif. — Oakland and Fremont police have surrounded the Your Black Muslim Bakery in Oakland.

NBC11 News has learned that SWAT team negotiators and various high-ranking police officials are at the scene.

Officers from Oakland, Fremont, Alameda and Emeryville are at the scene, reported NBC11’s Christie Smith. The police chief and assistant police chief from the Oakland Police Department are also at the scene, reported Smith.

Such a heavy police presence was needed to serve the warrants because of the violent nature of the alleged crimes, according to Oakland Assistant Police Chief Howard Jordan.

The alleged crimes include, “serious violent felonies including murder, robbery and kidnapping,” said Jordan.

Yusef Bey IV is one of the men detained, reported Smith.

OAKLAND, Calif. — A veteran journalist and newspaper editor who was shot to death on his way to work reportedly received threats before he was murdered in what police are calling a premeditated hit, according to The Oakland Tribune.

Chauncey Bailey, 57, editor of the Oakland Post and a former reporter for The Oakland Tribune, was shot about 7:30 a.m., police said.

Click here to read the full story in the Oakland Tribune.

According to the Tribune, witnesses say a masked man ambushed Bailey and shot him at least three times. The man then fled to an awaiting van and drove away. At least one of the shots hit him in the upper part of the body.

The Tribune reported that the killer knew Bailey's routine in the mornings and shot him before the news editor had any time to react.

Publisher of the Oakland Post, Paul Cobb, said both he and Bailey had received many threats over time but police have asked him not to comment in detail, the Tribune reported
Oakland Police spokesman Roland Holmgren said police don't have a motive for the killing, but it did not appear to be random.

He also said it's not clear whether the attack had anything to do with Bailey's journalism work but investigators would be looking at that angle.

Early Friday police surrounded an Oakland eatery, Your Black Muslim Bakery, which Bailey reportedly had been researching before he was killed.
It remained unclear whether the police activity, a yearlong investigation resulting in more than a dozen being detained, was connected to the killing.

"All of those possibilities will have to be definitely explored and explored thoroughly," he said.

Bailey was shot multiple times in daylight near the county courthouse, Holmgren said. Witnesses to the shooting were cooperating in the investigation, but there were no suspects yet, police said.

Holmgren said the weapon used was not a handgun, but he would not disclose the gun's caliber.

Bailey was a familiar fixture on the local news scene, working at the Tribune for more than a decade and at other area media outlets, including KDIA-AM radio and cable channel Soul Beat TV. Before that, he worked for 10 years at the Detroit News.

In June, Bailey was named editor of the Post, a weekly publication geared toward the Bay Area black community.

Oakland Mayor Ron Dellums said Bailey will be missed.

"It is a tragedy when any person loses his or her life by an act of violence. The crime and violence on Oakland streets presents me with the most painful and difficult challenge I've ever faced," Dellums said in a statement.

In a statement, Oakland Tribune managing editor Martin Reynolds called Bailey "a friend, a valued colleague and a loving father" whose coverage of Oakland's black community was "a tremendous asset" to the newspaper.

Reynolds said he saw Bailey only last week wearing his trademark suit and tie and "we chatted as we always did when we saw each other, and I congratulated him again on being named editor of the Post."

Bailey's death "has left all of us at the Oakland Tribune shocked and deeply saddened," Reynolds said.

3! Yes,there is talk of a link.Evidently, this business has been around for a few decades and run like a Gaza clan. They owned an apartment house across the street from the main bakery where family members and other employees lived and utilized intimidation with great frequency to keep the neighborhood the way they wanted it-them at the top. The suspicion in the journalist assasination (it is being called that in the local MSM of Oakland) is that the reporter was doing an investigative piece on the bakery and the family that runs it...maybe getting a bit to close for their liking.

Indeed! I recently heard an interview with a Black Muslim on an extreme leftist moonbat talk radio program hosted by Coz Carson. (This was former congresswoman Cynthia McKinney's Communications Director--the one that McKinney said was "a fool" while she was within a few feet of an open mic with a network feed.) Anyway, Coz and his guest spent the whole time talking about how the Southern States should pay reparations to the descendants of American slaves.

Ironic doesn't even begin to describe it.

Chauncy Bailey, the black journalist whom they murdered, used to own a black cable TV station on which Yusuf bey Sr. would give fiery anti-white and anti-Semitic sermons, broadcast to the whole Bay Area. That was one of the reasons Bailey was fired from the Oakland Tribune -- he was half journalist, half activist. And he used to be chummy with the Bey clan of NOI.

Then, later, he apparently had a split with them.

It's the oldest story in the book. Radicals ususually murder those closest to them -- apostates.

Yes, it has always struck me as supremely ironic and sad that more and more in the black community identify with Islam. Its the only religion that actively supports slavery today and has been since its inception. Have a look at the "True History Of Slavery" chapter in Dr. Sowell's book for taste of the Arab's treatment of slaves:
[Link: www.amazon.com...]
(For those few that don't know already, Dr. Sowell is black.)

In the famous video of UBL chuckling about how successful 9/11 was, at one point he refers to "the slaves". That, evidently, is still a common word in polite Arabic for black people.

re: #68 zombie

Chauncy Bailey, the black journalist whom they ALLEGEDLY murdered, used to own a black cable TV station on which Yusuf bey Sr. would give fiery anti-white and anti-Semitic sermons, broadcast to the whole Bay Area. That was one of the reasons Bailey was fired from the Oakland Tribune -- he was half journalist, half activist. And he used to be chummy with the Bey clan of NOI.

Then, later, he apparently had a split with them.

It's the oldest story in the book. Radicals ususually ALLEGEDLY murder those closest to them -- apostates.

Observe the niceties Z

As the Military and Progressives panel came to an end, a young man in uniform stood up to argue that the surge was working, and cutting down on Iraqi casualties. The moderator largely freaked out. When other members of the panel tried to answer his question, he demanded they "stand down." He demanded the questioner give his name...

OT, Good news:

No jail for corporal in Hamdania killing

By: North County Times
Jury still contemplating sentence for his squad leader

A Marine corporal guilty of conspiracy to kill an Iraqi was sentenced to a reduction in rank and time served this morning, meaning he will soon walk out of a Camp Pendleton jail and back into Marine life.

Cpl. Marshall Magincalda, who was in on a plot to kill the man but testified that he did not actually shoot him, hugged his family after his sentence was read.

"I get to go home," said the 24-year-old Magincalda. "I'm still in the Marine Corps."

Magincalda, whose rank will be reduced to private, could have been sentenced to life in prison. Prosecutors wanted him sent to jail for 10 years.

OTOH, his squad leader was found guilty of murder.
The sergeant did not offer apologies for the slaying. But during his sentencing hearing, he spoke about his squad's "frustration" of knowing specifically who the area's lead insurgent was. He said they were unable to stop him. The suspect had repeatedly been arrested and released, according to testimony.

"We could not do anything about it," Hutchins said. "Or I should say, we had done everything we could about it."

So they went after the insurgent on their own. When they couldn't get to him, they grabbed his neighbor, Hashim Ibrahim Awad, and carried out the rest of the plan.

Justice or PC bullshit? My bet is the latter.

THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD'S LAST SERMON
(This Sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H in the Uranah Valley of mount Arafat ) Note: Found on the Net, but without source or copyright information. Please contact halsall@muray.fordham.edu if you have information

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I don't know whether, after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you carefully and TAKE THIS WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (Interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived...

Beware of Satan, for your safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have right over you. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and comitted helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to commit adultery.

O People, listen to me in earnest, whorship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadhan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to. You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. YOU ARE ALL EQUAL. NOBODY HAS SUPERIORITY OVER OTHER EXCEPT BY PIETY AND GOOD ACTION.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer for your deeds. So beware, do not astray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand my words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QUR'AN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me direcly. BE MY WITNESS O ALLAH THAT I HAVE CONVEYED YOUR MESSAGE TO YOUR PEOPLE."

re: #150 Eowyn2,

Yeah, the last thing a soldier needs is having to worry about a bunch of Monday Morning Quarterbacks sitting in a comfortable room a thousand miles away second guessing his every move in the middle of a firefight. The enemy we are facing doesn't wear uniforms, doesn't hold to "fronts" where the sides are clearly delineated, and generally tries to blend in with the civilian population as SOP. In that environment, I am highly skeptical of "murder in combat" charges.

Yes, civilians will be killed by mistake in such an environment. That is the fault of the enemy that hides himself amongst the civilians, and the civilian collaborators that aid the enemy in masking himself as a civilian.

I'd rather the ROE called for us to shoot first, and not really ask questions later. That may sound hard and harsh, but war isn't a game where you get to call "time out", and go home and rest.

The knowledge of self is so powerful that it will instill pride an the need to bring our people out of the state of mental bondage that permeates our existence here in the hells of North America.  We groom our children for ownership.  The kind of ownership that serves humanity.  Our children learn to break the pattern that continues to enslave our minds.  No longer will we subscribe to the slave masters patterning of get a good education to get a good job.

I think "Black Muslims" are an offshoot of the "nation of Islam" or even the from "nation of Islam" before Eliza Mohammad admitted that his racist cult wasn't really Islam and asked his followers to learn about Islam.

So it's possible that "Black Muslims" are some weird racist cult that isn't very Islamic.

Actually, this isn't the first time the Nation of Islam cult (actually, it really isn't muslim) has been involved in serious criminal activity in the Bay Area.

Remember the Zebra murder spree? The massacre turned out to be Black Muslims holding a murder contest.

Wonder why no movie has ever been made of the Zebra affair.

We probably know some of the same people. I'm a local. (don't feel comfortable saying more)

Right now, the only thing that I can pass on definitely, is an snippet from wsbradio.com

Jane Kuria's husband was murdered in Kenya because of his opposition to female genital mutilation.
Cook, who represents the Kuria family in their bid for asylum in the United States, said he was confident that they would get their wish to remain here. He says Kuria was panic stricken about the possibility of returning to Kenya for fear her daughters would be forced to submit to female circumcision. Cook hopes the murders are not in retaliation for the family's flight from Kenya in 2001.

I had not seen that. Again, FGM is not solely a Muslim custom, so until someone named Muhammed is tied to this incident, I don't feel it's accurate to say "Kenyan muslims seeking revenge for seeking asylum." It sounds like the police are exploring that angle and probably others as well.

Feel free to email if you'd prefer to take this offline.

re: #85 rokbassist

Funny how they use the surname "Bey". From Websters:

1 a : a provincial governor in the Ottoman Empire b : the former native ruler of Tunis or Tunisia
2 -- used as a courtesy title in Turkey and Egypt

Guess they fancy themselves hotshots.

Not your everyday Mom and Pop kinda place either.

one of their related businesses is listed as "Security".

Having security companies is a good way to be able to keep firearms. Al Fuqra (black Muslims who live in rural compounds around the U.S. and Canada) sometimes own security companies.

The Black Muslim Bakery worship Elijah Mohammed, who was denounced by Malcolm X for having sex with teenage girls.

Nasty little outfit, preaching Black Supremacism. Not sure how they fit that with Islamic supremacism, but I suppose birds of a feather flock together.

Well if they hold on to Elijah Mohammad's original teaching, they have a theology that's completely insane and has nothing to do with Islam.

The original Mohammad was also completely insane, of course, but he didn't teach that white men are demons created by an evil african sorcerer who "grafted" them on to the human race in order to torment the real men.

I write etc. because it's hard to remember insane ravings, since none of them make sense... I don't remember the rest. But for some reason the voices in Elijah Mohammad's head told him nonsense unrelated to the nonsense dictated from voices in the head of the original Mohammad.

The antisemitism is a given; it is included via both the Islamic trappings and the black supremacism.

That's one of the many reasons why Islam can't be reformed.

I've got some background on Yusef Bey IV

Evidence recovered during the police raid at Your Black Muslim Bakery Friday morning links members of the organization to the ambush killing of Oakland Post Editor Chauncey Bailey, authorities said.
...
Police would not give specific details about the cases they believe are linked to the people associated with the bakery, but did say some were committed last year and earlier this year.

Two are believed to be shooting deaths of two men last month within a few blocks of the bakery, in pre-dawn hours. One was the July 12 shooting death of Michael J. Wills Jr., 36, who had addresses in both Oakland and Fremont. He was gunned down in the 6200 block of San Pablo Avenue.

Four days earlier, Odell Roberson Jr., 31, was shot to death in the 1000 block of 60th Street. Police suspected the murders were connected because of the circumstances and similarities of weapons used.

Charles's original link above now goes to an article titled, "Attorney: Slain Journalist's Article To Implicate Black Muslim Bakery." It contains this sentence:

Yeah, it may be tempting but I wouldn't go so far as to connect these thugs to the global jihadists. At least not based on what we've heard so far.
They remind me of a similar black nationalist cult in Miami, the "Yahweh" sect. They were a gang of anti-white racist separatists who, believe it or not, proclaimed themselves to be the only true JEWS!
Through an ostensible agenda of neighborhood "improvement, "entrepreneurship" and "crime fighting," the "Yahwehs" got lots of praise and adulation from the myopic metro Miami political set until someone noticed they were terrorizing their neighborhood, and even committing murders.
Finally the cult leader Yahweh ben Yahweh was locked up for a whole list of RICO type offenses.
Not that "Your Muslim Bakery" COULDN'T be yet another jihadi incursion, but it could just be homegrown lowlifes wrapping themselves in the indimidating costume of Islam.
