ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - A suicide bomber in a car killed four policemen and wounded two in an attack in northwestern Pakistan on Sunday, police said.
Violence has escalated in Pakistan since a peace deal with tribal fighters linked to the Taliban and al Qaeda broke down in North Waziristan, and after the army assaulted a militant mosque in the capital, Islamabad.Senior police officer Mohammad Iqbal in the northwestern town of Swat told Reuters the bomber was traveling in a car and blew himself up when police stopped him at a checkpost.
