To free up some screen real estate and get things organized a little better, all those little boxes full of links in our left sidebar have now been replaced with a series of popout menus, right below the login area.
These menus were created with jQuery and the Superfish plugin, along with some tricky CSS. The exceedingly cool thing about them is that they even work in most modern browsers with Javascript turned off; without Javascript you get fully operational menus lacking only the extra niceties like the animated effects and the timed hiding when you mouse away from the menu.
Best of all, the HTML code to create this type of menu is extremely simple, accessible, and easily maintainable.
