Religion of Peace Strikes Again in Restive Thailand
Three more dead in the south Thailand jihad.
NARATHIWAT, Thailand (AFP) - Three people, including a soldier, were shot dead by suspected militants in separate attacks in Thailand’s restive Muslim-majority south, police said Saturday.
A 22-year-old soldier was gunned down in an ambush Saturday in Pattani, one of three troubled provinces bordering Malaysia, and a 22-year-old university student was killed in a drive-by shooting in the province in the afternoon.In nearby Narathiwat, a 43-year-old Muslim man was shot dead late Friday while walking.
More than 2,500 people have been killed since the insurgency broke out in the region in January 2004.
