Religion of Peace Strikes Again in South Thailand
Three more people dead in the south Thailand jihad: Three killed as Thai police chief visits Muslim south.
NARATHIWAT, Thailand (AFP) — Three people were killed Wednesday in a string of attacks by separatist militants in Thailand’s Muslim south, where the national police chief was meeting with local commanders.
A Muslim man was killed and four others injured when a bomb hidden inside a refrigerated case at a convenience store exploded. The blast went off as the man opened the door to the cooler to grab a drink, police said.
A 10-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl were among the people wounded in the blast early Wednesday in Yala province, police added.
Another bomb went off outside a home in Yala town, but no one was injured. Police said experts defused five other bombs they found around the province early Wednesday.
Meanwhile in neighbouring Narathiwat province, two Muslim men aged 37 and 68 were killed in separate drive-by shootings, police said.
