An Email from a Columbia Student

Here’s some more information about those clapping and cheering students at Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s Columbia speech, from the same Columbia student who emailed earlier today:

I was sitting on the left hand side of the audience towards the middle. Around me were a lot of members of Hillel, and they had all made t-shirts for the event:

Many of them were arguing beforehand about what they’d like to do—to walk out in the middle of the event, to boo loudly, to sing the Star Spangled Banner when he first walked on stage (that would’ve been awesome). In the end, they seemed to decide that no reaction was the best reaction. Ahmadinejad was out to piss people off, and nobody wanted to give him any gratification other than the looney leftists.

I’m sure you can guess which students applauded him—it’s the Pro-Palestinians. It’s the kids who wear “Lan Nasmat” (“We will not be silent”) t-shirts, and kaffiyehs whenever they can. These people aren’t stupid enough to deny that the Holocaust happened, they’re just stupid enough to think that A) Israel is the real evil in that region and B) Iran is pursuing power, not weapons. They are the fools who believe that your enemy’s enemy is your ally; I can only hope that one day they will realize that your enemy’s enemy is just an even greater tyrant.

Compare Electricity Prices in your area. Texas Electricity is deregulated; you have the right to choose Texas Electric Rates from among many Texas Electric Companies.

The solution remains elusive.
