That article about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad by Associated Press writer Nahal Toosi we pointed out yesterday, with the outrageous wording about “defending the right to cast doubt on the Holocaust,” has been quietly rewritten today: Ahmadinejad questions 9/11, Holocaust.

Here’s the original lead paragraph:

NEW YORK - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad questioned the official version of the Sept. 11 attacks and defended the right to cast doubt on the Holocaust in a tense appearance at Columbia University, whose president accused the hard-line leader of behaving like “a petty and cruel dictator.”

Here it is now, after an editor noticed that the pro-Ahmadinejad slant was a little too blatant:

NEW YORK - Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad defended Holocaust deniers and raised questions about who carried out the Sept. 11 attacks in a tense showdown Monday at Columbia University where the school’s head introduced the visitor by calling him a “petty and cruel dictator.”

This is how they do it, folks. The first version has already been disseminated around the world, of course.
