Religion of Peace Strikes Again in Restive Thailand

Thu, Oct 4, 2007 at 1:03:27 pm PDT

Five more dead in the South Thailand jihad: Islamic separatists kill five.

FIVE people, including an army ranger, were shot dead by suspected Islamic separatists today in a spate of attacks in Thailand’s Muslim-majority south, police said. The killings highlighted the almost daily violence in the troubled region where a separatist insurgency since early 2004 has left over 2600 people dead.

A 42-year-old Muslim army ranger was shot dead in an ambush in Narathiwat, one of three restive provinces bordering Malaysia, police said, adding that an elderly Muslim man was also gunned down at a market in the province. A 44-year-old Muslim man who belonged to a volunteer village defence force was shot dead in an ambush in Narathiwat earlier in the day.

In neighbouring Pattani, two Buddhist men aged 41 and 65 were killed in separate drive-by shootings.

No one ever will be able to convince the Muslims that it's OK to be a minority in a country.

It just doesn't jibe with the whole supremecy thang.

My question is, if they get independence and they have no economy (since all non-muslims will have gone to non-muslim north Thailand), no one to kill, no reason for continuing their "inner struggle", then what?

Oh never mind. They'd kill each other trying to decide who gets to be in charge, and then they'd attack the New Southern Thailand again for independance.

Hillary Clinton may be charged with felony charges from her "fundrasing" concert in 2000

US Statutes: 2 U.S.C. Sec 441a (a)(7)(B)(I) provides:

Expenditures made by any person in cooperation, consultation, or concert, with, or at the request or suggestion of, a candidate, his authorized political committees, or their agents, shall be considered to be a contribution to such candidate. (Therefore Peter Paul's expenditures cannot be deemed to be a "soft money" contribution)

(f) No candidate shall knowingly accept any contribution in violation of the provisions of this section...

(a)(1)(A) No person shall make contributions... to any candidate with respect to any election for Federal office which, in the aggregate, exceed $2,000.

2 U.S.C. Sec 437g(d)(1)(A)(I) provides:

OK now that I have seen the word 'restive' 10,000 times officially, it's time to finally go to the dictionary to find out what it means!

It's very overloaded even for an English word.

Impatient, AND refusing to move forward. Among others...

handy link to dictionary.com

Usage Note: Restive is properly applied to a feeling of impatience or uneasiness induced by external coercion or restriction, and is not a general synonym for restless: The government has done nothing to ease export restrictions, and domestic manufacturers are growing restive (not restless). The atmosphere in the office was congenial, but after five years I began to grow restless (not restive).

OT - hope this hasn't already been posted today

The American Textbook Council examined the coverage of Islam in seven widely adopted world history textbooks used in grades seven through twelve. In February 2003, it published its findings in a review, Islam and the Textbooks.
Since 2003, several reports have documented bias and evasions in world history textbooks. Textbooks misrepresent Islam past and present, critics agree. They contain fallacies and untruths about jihad, sharia, slavery, status of Muslim women, terrorism, and international security.

For the love of Allah, when is Thailand going to DO something!

Gates of Vienna has a great article about the Thai "insurgency".

[Link: gatesofvienna.blogspot.com...]

As it did in India, Islam is devouring a peaceful religion without any sense of decency or shame. The Thais as a national character are always in search of "sanuk" or fun, and any form of confrontation makes them extremely uncomfortable and upset. As with many other countries, if they just mustered the willpower they could crush the sadistic, uneducated morons comprising the Islamic "insurgency" - but the deck is stacked against them. And of course the few times they have, the Muslims just use it as an excuse to keep attacking them. A classic example happened a while back when the authorities caught wind of all the students from a Religion of Peace madrassa planning to raid Thai police stations in the south. So the Thai police stocked up with assault rifles and armored vests and waited. Sure enough, hundreds of fanatical Muslims students came running out of the woods with machetes and rifles and got blown to pieces. Immediately, the local imams started bitching about how the police response was "disproportionate" and an "attack on Islam", and used the fact that the Thais dared defend themselves as the reason to plot more attacks. It all had a familiar ring to it...

Ethiopia pledges 5,000 peacekeepers to Darfur

Ethiopia pledged 5,000 troops to a future U.N.-African Union peacekeeping mission for Darfur on Thursday, just days after the worst attack on peacekeepers already in Sudan's war-ravaged region.

The 26,000-strong joint mission is to replace a hard-pressed AU force that lacks experience, equipment and cash and has been unable to stop the conflict. Some 200,000 people are estimated to have died in the fighting and an ensuing humanitarian crisis.

I know what you're thinking: UN. Peacekeepers. But after what the Ethiopians did to the Islamic Courts (aka Al Qaeda) in Somalia, this might just be what stops the genocide in Darfur.

separatist insurgency

Characterizing the jihad this way is misleading. The jihad is a global enterprise that seeks to grab as much turf as possible for islamofascism, and then to use that turf as a base for grabbing more territory for islamofascism.

What the jihadists carrying out terrorism in the southern part of Thailand are seeking is a sharia-ruled base, that will then acquire more advanced weapons and use that base to carry out jihad in other parts of Thailand.

The "insurgency" spin on this is meant to suggest that if only Thailand would cut off the southern part of Thailand and write it off, then it would have peace. It would not. That southern base of sharia would then be the base for a wider jihad.

As the leaders of the spark of the 20th and 21st century jihad revival have written -- that is, Khomeini, al-Banna, Maududi, Qutb, and Azzam -- there cannot be an end to jihad until all of the world is ruled by sharia.

That means that once territory is gained for rule by sharia, it becomes a base for jihad for seeking more territory for sharia to rule. National concepts have nothing at all to do with it.
