New York Welcomes New Overlords

I don’t know how many people complained about it, but it must have been a significant number.

The managers of the Empire State Building were determined to make their appeasement gesture anyway: Empire State Building goes green for Eid.

For the first time in its history, the Empire State Building in New York was lit in green in celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr.

It will be green till Sunday.

So far, the landmark tower has been lit in traditional colours every year only on the occasion of Christmas and the Jewish festival Hannukah. From this year on, lighting on Eid too will become an annual event.

At the end of Ramadan, Muslims throughout the world celebrate for three days to mark the end of Ramadan. In Islam, the colour green symbolizes a happy occasion.

Soaring 1,454 feet above Midtown Manhattan, the Empire State Building was recently named America’s most favourite building in the poll conducted by American Institute of Architects.

Investor’s Business Daily calls it: Sharia By The Inch.

In a monumental nod to political correctness, the Empire State Building is to be lit up green in honor of the Muslim holiday Eid. The separation of Islam from terror is officially complete.

Six years ago, Islamic terrorists screamed “Allah is Greatest!” as they slammed fuel-laden jumbo jets into two other New York skyscrapers. Six years ago, New Yorkers were worried about the Green Menace.

Now, for the first time, New York’s remaining famous skyscraper will be aglow in green — the color of Islam — to mark the end of Ramadan, a month of intense Islamic renewal. Officials say it’ll be an annual event, in the same tradition of the yearly skyscraper lighting for Christmas and Hanukkah.

What’s next, Ground Zero festooned with crescent moons and stars?

"Wowie Zowie" is what [Pamela Zarubica] says when she's not grouchy...who would guess it could inspire a song? No one would guess. None of you are perceptive enough. *Why are you reading this?* -- Liner notes for "You Didn't Try to Call Me" (yes, really) on "Freak Out!"
