It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly American criminal class except Congress.

Kids in Gaza have a new street game: Hamas vs. Fatah.

One kid explains the rules:

"We use rifles and handguns that fire plastic ammunition. Those hurt by the fire must surrender, hand over their weapons, and put their hands up. After they surrender, we chain their hands, place them under arrest, and beat them up."

If I owned Gaza and Hell, I'd rent out Gaza and live in Hell.

Maybe not on point and stop me if you have heard this.....

THE GEOGRAPHY OF A WOMAN
Between 18 and 22, a woman is like Africa, half
discovered, half wild, fertile and naturally beautiful!

Between 23 and 30, a woman is like Europe, well
developed and open to trade, especially for someone
with cash.

Between 31 and 35, a woman is like India, very hot,
relaxed and convinced of her own beauty.

Between 36 and 40, a woman is like France, gently
aging but still a warm and desirable place to visit.

Between 41 and 50, a woman is like Great Britain,
with a glorious and all conquering past.

Between 51 and 60, a woman is like Israel, has been
through war and doesn't make the same mistakes
twice, takes care of business.

Between 61 and 70, a woman is like Canada,
self-preserving but open to meeting new people.

After 70, she becomes Tibet, wildly beautiful, with
a mysterious past and the wisdom of the ages...only
those with an adventurous spirit and a thirst for
spiritual knowledge visit there.

THE GEOGRAPHY OF A MAN

Between 1 and 70, a man is like Iran, ruled by a
little prick.

Hello all!

An afternoon proverb:

The Ant & the Grasshopper old and new versions OLD VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
House and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and
Plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed. The
Grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

_________________________________________________
MODERN VERSIONnew version:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
House and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and
Plays the summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and
Demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed
While others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the
Shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable
Home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp
Contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor
Grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody
Cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green."

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where
The news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Jesse
Then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's
Sake.

Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry King that
The ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call
For an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & AntiGrasshopper Act
Retroactive to the beginning of the summer.

The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green
Bugs and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is
Confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her former employer, the Rose Law Firm, to represent the
Grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried
Before a jury comprised of singleparent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of
The ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens
To be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't
Maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house,
Now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the
Once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote.

Re: #37 rappmandu

Confirmed by ABC ...

[Link: blogs.abcnews.com...]

ABC News' Jack Date and Pierre Thomas Report: A stolen fuel tanker truck carrying 7100 gallons of diesel fuel has been found intact in southeast Washington, D.C.

D.C. Metro Police are on scene and investigating, and a spokesman for the department confirms that the vehicle was unoccupied and that no arrests have been made.

The truck was taken from the 3100 block of Vera St. in Baltimore around 5:00 a.m. Friday morning. Baltimore City Police Spokesman Sterling Clifford said the assailant, described as a male wearing a blue jumpsuit, brandished a semi-automatic handgun at the driver.

After the theft, the truck and its tanker trailer, operated by Baltimore Tank Lines, were seen heading towards Interstate 95. Baltimore and Washington, D.C. are connected by I-95.

Clifford said, "This is being investigated as a robbery, there is no connection to terrorism at this point." The Joint Terrorism Task Forces from Washington and Baltimore have been assisting local police in the investigation as a precaution.

The Maryland Department of Homeland Security has also been monitoring the situation, and the Baltimore City Police Department has taken the lead on the investigation.

VARIOUS GOVERNMENT & ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURES:

CAPITALISM
You have two cows.
You sell one to buy a bull.
You end up with a whole a herd of cattle.

SOCIALISM
You have two cows.
The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.
Then the government makes rules that tell you and your neighbor
how you must manage your cows.

COMMUNIST
You have two cows.
The government seizes both and provides you with milk.
You wait in line for hours to get it. It is expensive and sour.

AMERICAN BUREAUCRACY (Republican)
You own two cows. The government pays you to pour half the cow's
milk down the drain.

AMERICAN BUREAUCRACY (Democrat)
You own two cows.
The government taxes you to the point where you have to sell both
cows to support a man in a foreign country who has only one cow,
which was a gift from your government.

AMERICAN CORPORATION
You have two cows.
You sell one, lease it back to yourself and do an IPO on the 2nd one.
You force the two cows to produce the milk of four cows.
You are surprised when one cow drops dead.
You spin an announcement to the analysts stating you have
downsized and are reducing expenses.
Your stock goes up. You get an interest-free loan from your
company to exercise your stock options, then you retire.

FLORIDA CORPORATION
You have a black cow and a brown cow.
Everyone votes for the best looking one.
Some of the people, who like the brown one best, vote for the
black one by mistake. Some people vote for both.
Some people vote for neither.
Some people can't figure out how to vote at all.
Finally, a bunch of guys from out-of-state tell you which is
the best-looking cow.

NEW YORK CORPORATION
You have fifteen million cows.
You have to choose which one will be the leader of the herd,
So you just pick some fat cow from Arkansas

CALIFORNIA CORPORATION
You have millions of cows
Most are illegals
Arnold likes the ones with the big udders

RUSSIAN CORPORATION
You have two cows. You have some vodka.
You count them and learn you have five cows.
You have some more vodka.
You count them again and learn you have 42 cows.
The Mafia shows up and takes over whatever cows you really
had.

TALIBAN CORPORATION
You have all the cows in Afghanistan, which are two.
You don't milk them because you cannot touch any creature's
private parts. Then you kill them and claim a US bomb blew
them up while they were in the hospital.

IRAQ CORPORATION
You have two cows.
They go into hiding.
They send radio tapes of their mooing.

Joke:

I just got my new Lexus RX400H, and returned to the dealer the next
day, complaining that I couldn't figure out how the radio worked.

The salesman explained that the radio was voice activated. "Watch
this!" He said, "Nelson! The radio replied, "Ricky or Willie?"
"Willie!" He continued...and On The Road Again ! came from the
speakers.

I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say,
"Beethoven!" I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said,
"Beatles!" I'd get one of their awesome songs

One day, a couple ran a red light and nearly creamed my new car,
but I swerved in time to avoid them. I yelled..... "ASSHOLES!"
The French National Anthem began to play, sung by Jane Fonda and
Michael Moore, backed up by John Kerry on guitar, Al Gore on drums
and Bill Clinton on sax...

Damn, I LOVE this car!

One-Third of Sessions at UN Conference Devoted to Abortion
Pro-family leaders decry "obsession with abortion" and poor attention to womens' real needs

NEW YORK, October 18, 2007

[Link: www.lifesite.net...]

“The best way to reduce maternal and child deaths is with skilled birth attendants and emergency obstetrics. Yet skilled birth attendants is addressed in only 6 sessions, emergency obstetrics in one,” stated Susan Yoshihara, Ph.D., Executive Vice President of Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute.

“Post-natal or peri-natal care, fistula, female genital mutilation, newborn health, violence against women, cancer, malaria, and failing health systems get three or fewer sessions each. The handful of panels on HIV/AIDS focuses on rights, not treatment. No sessions address primary child health issues such as vaccine availability, clean water, sanitation, basic nutritional supplementation such as prenatal and children’s vitamins, or the training of village health workers in spotting or combating protein calorie malnutrition.”

Lola Velarde, President of the Institute for Family Policy EU, stated “The medical journal Lancet reported recently on the 100 million missing girls lost to sex selection abortions and female infanticide. Not one session at Women Deliver tackles this leading cause of death of girls. Lancet’s special theme issue for Women Deliver appears to neglect its own revelations on girl-child deaths.”

Sometimes you have an actual "first" (I admit I've been guilty of that), along with a couple of wannabe "first" misses that are actually second, third, etc.

Banning it seems a bit harsh, but the "firsts" add nothing, and get old. Its Charles football, he can call the game.

L.A. Times’ latest sugarcoating investigation:

An unlikely treasure-trove of donors for Clinton
The candidate's unparalleled fundraising success relies largely on the least-affluent residents of New York's Chinatown -- some of whom can't be tracked down.
. . .
Dishwashers, waiters and others whose jobs and dilapidated home addresses seem to make them unpromising targets for political fundraisers are pouring $1,000 and $2,000 contributions into Clinton's campaign treasury. In April, a single fundraiser in an area long known for its gritty urban poverty yielded a whopping $380,000
. . .
Clinton has enlisted the aid of Chinese neighborhood associations, especially those representing recent immigrants from Fujian province. The organizations, at least one of which is a descendant of Chinatown criminal enterprises that engaged in gambling and human trafficking, exert enormous influence over immigrants. The associations help them with everything from protection against crime to obtaining green cards.

Many of Clinton's Chinatown donors said they had contributed because leaders in neighborhood associations told them to. In some cases, donors said they felt pressure to give.
. . .
The effort is especially pronounced among groups in the Fujianese community. More than a decade ago, Fujianese cultural associations ran gambling operations and, more ominously, at least one was home to a gang that trafficked in illegal Fujian native immigrants.
. . .
Although [FBI investigator] Motyka is wary of the havoc wreaked in the past by Fujianese organized crime, he said: ‘I welcome signs that the community is participating in politics.’

TRANSLATION:
"Hillary has united with Chinese organized crime syndicates to employ classic "protection racket" intimidation to extort huge 'donations' from the poorest and most powerless of immigrants. Many of the donations are knowingly fraudulent and a front for illegal contributions."

The two main routes from Baltimore, where the tanker was stolen, to DC are I-95 and Baltimore-Washington Parkway (I-295 is Anacostia Fwy near Bolling, DIA, and Naval Research Lab). A lot of locals take other routes, but I-295 is often a quicker route than I-95.

Question is, was the tanker headed farther south (Viriginia) or into DC?

The leader of the Islamic faith in Samoa, Mohammed La’ulu Daniel Stanley, has been found guilty of two charges of carnal knowledge.

But a panel of assessors found the 60-year-old defendant not guilty of the other two counts of rape.

The police charged the religious leader after an incident between the defendant and a girl under 12 years old .

Mohammed La’ulu as well is a well-known accountant and auditor who operates his own accounting firm.

The Supreme Court will deliver a sentence later next month.

The maximum penalty for carnal knowledge in Samoa is seven years in jail

Conference Focuses on Israel's Jewish 'Defamers'

A pro-Israel organization that monitors press coverage of the Jewish state will hold a conference Sunday about high-profile Jews who speak out against Israel's policies and, in some cases, its right to exist.

Sponsored by the Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America, or Camera, the gathering — called "Israel's Jewish Defamers" — comprises sessions on perceived bias in the Israeli press, as well as in articles penned by Jews and published in elite journals, such as the New York Review of Books and the London Review of Books. It will be held at Park Avenue Synagogue on East 87th Street.

Snip

The Taub Professor of Israel Studies at New York University, Ronald Zweig, told the Sun he thought it was wrong for Camera to single out Jews among Israel's harshest critics. "I'm a serious critic of Norman Finkelstein," he said, referring to a high-profile Jewish anti-Zionist. "I'm not going to talk about him, that he's Jewish; I'm going to talk about what the says. The packaging is irrelevant."

Zweig was my prof at TAU.

My kind of reward...

Brewery offers lifetime supply of beer in return for stolen laptop

Laptop theft is unfortunately common these days. It generally only makes the news when the laptop in question belongs to a company or government agency and contains enough personal data to make identity theft a very real possibility for hundreds—or even thousands—of people. In the case of a laptop stolen from the Croucher Brewing Company in Rotorua, New Zealand, the laptop contained financial records, contract details, and other proprietary information (maybe the recipe for its Belgian Blonde ale?).

In an attempt to get the laptop back, the brewery is offering a somewhat unusual reward: a lifetime supply of free beer. Whoever fingers the thief will get a 12-pack per month (a bit skimpy, perhaps) for the rest of their days, according to the BBC. That beer could really come in handy for a dedicated Kiwi rugby fan trying to erase the memory of the All Blacks' spectacular flame-out in the quarterfinals of the Rugby World Cup two weekends ago.

Man guilty of murder for gunning pregnant friend

EDMONTON - A former methamphetamine addict who claimed at various times to be the son of Satan, the angel of death and Jesus Christ has been convicted of first-degree murder in the shooting death of a pregnant 19-year-old.

...

Baker's lawyer argued that his client committed the act in the throes of a methamphetamine psychosis, and was not criminally responsible.

During cross-examination, Baker told court he believed a former girlfriend had stolen his sperm and given it to the American government, who then inseminated Talbot with his child. He also said he and Talbot had intercourse and the baby may have been his.

At the time, he said, he believed he had special powers, which he called "the gift." He said he also believed his "gift" was going to be passed to the child Talbot was carrying.

"I thought in order to walk as Jesus that I had to stop the government from passing the gift onto this new child," he said.

"I had to stop the baby from being born. ... (I had to) kill her."

I did so! The last straw was today. I had this toll ticket that I got on the PA Turnpike that I turned into the licensing department last month and Lindsey said she would get it taken care of. Dave demanded that I sign a form to deduct the 25 bucks out of my paycheck when it was their damn routing that put me on the turnpike in the first place. I told him I wasn't going to pay the thing and he got all pissy and I then told him where does he want the fucking truck because I am done.

14 months of his whining and moaning and more BS than the Koran and that ticket did it for me.

I did scale work of WA state for awhile, I hated hanging paper on the driver for stuff that was the companies problem, but State law required I hang it on the driver.

I had more that one feed up drive actually come in ask me to red tag their rig and call their dispatcher. They were tired of getting jerked around, force to drive unsafe equipment etc...

Good for you, there are good companies out there, look for drivers.

Officers found the vehicle unoccupied near the intersection of 2nd Street and Malcom X Avenue, three blocks Bolling Air Force Base.

A source tells ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 reporter Jennifer Donelan that the tanker was found shortly after 1 p.m. It had been drained of its 7100 gallons of fuel before it was abandoned. Investigators checked the vehicle for explosives but found none.

A barolo or a chianti perhaps.

Or, if you want to be bold, go with a cab.

If you're going with aged gamey buttocks, I'd lean towards the cab first.

A twist would be go with a zesty white. A dry riesling or a sauv blanc.

7100 gal is a lot, had to have a place to put it.

Back to what Reloadingismyhobby, mix with ammonium nitrate fertilizer and you get ANFO (Ammonium Nitrate Fuel Oil). ANFO is the the most commonly used commercial explosive used.

7100 gallons is approximately 50,000 lbs. way in excess of any practical deliverable explosive.

Re: # 284 jcm

I posted two stories up in comment #238 where gas thieves have been using converted, covert trailers for siphoning gas from gas stations. In both instances, the tank drum in the trailer could hold up to 3200 gallons of gas. If this was a heist, police should be looking for trucks towing such trailers in the area.

It seems that fuel theft is becoming increasingly more common nowadays, and people are going to extreme measures to get the gas they want to sell to others elsewhere.

They didn't drive that tanker down Route 295 in Maryland. No trucks allowed and heavily patrolled by Park Police.

They drove it down Route 95 to the DC beltway and then East around the beltway to the location it was dumped. Lots and lots of big rigs and very few Maryland State Police on patrol.

The area of DC that the truck was dumped in is a well known dumping ground for vehicles that have been stolen in the Maryland area.

Most of those dumped vehicles aren't stolen to be chopped up and resold. They're stolen for the free ride. We call 'em crack taxi's around here...

This was just another crack taxi, albeit a very large and potentially dangerous crack taxi.

From The Weekly Standard...

www.weeklystandard.com

Pete Stark needs kicked in the nuts...

Pete Stark Stands by His Vitriol
Pete Stark tells San Francisco's KCBS radio that he stands by his attacks yesterday on House Republicans and President Bush:

During his outburst, the Fremont lawmaker said “you don't have money to fund the war, or children, but you're going to spend it to blow up innocent people if we can get enough kids to grow old enough for you to sent to Iraq to get their heads blown off for the president's amusement...”

When asked if he would take back any of his statements, Stark told KCBS “Absolutely not. I may have dishonored the commander in chief, but I think he’s done pretty well to dishonor himself without any help from me.”

He added the real dishonor is that Republicans refuse to expand the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. “The fact is that I do support the troops in Iraq. They’re there fighting to protect our children here,” said Stark. “I think (Republicans) owe the troops in Iraq an apology for not protecting the children that those troops left behind.”

Pete Stark says the president is waging the war in Iraq for the fun of seeing innocent Americans get their heads 'blown off,' but Democrats still support him. Keith Olbermann calls Stark's comments 'refreshing.' And Stark has been warmly embraced by the Daily Kos, where he thanked the site's readers for their support. But they all support the troops, right? Oh, and the children, too.

Would you still be around? :)

I've finished that report that I promised you a copy of, on how to cleanse the innards of one's body from the effects of that dirty yellow dust-residue from the falling of the Twin Towers in New York.........would you still like a copy? My nic is blue --you can e-mail me, if you want. Thanks! :)

re: #277 GeicoGecko

Welcome aboard....play nice in the sandbox and these nice people will still pick on you! Actually, no. I'm still impressed with the caring and support the lizards show when another is ill or has suffered a loss of some kind. A great community. I'm still reluctant letting loose because on some, well respected, sites - one strike you're out.

Being a professional shopper I can proudly solve your holiday shopping needs. The gecko headcover is available online from the Geico Store. Could be your signature gift for the holidays.

If you want to try something a little different consider a Finger Lakes ice wine for dessert.

Thaxn for the thought, but I like Port to be more like port, and less like $60 / bottle... ((-'pb

May also have something to do with everyone sporting cammo. Unless you look at boots, haircuts, and back straight appearance, you could be fooled. Every outdoor hunting store sells what appears to be military cammo. I think it's a security issue - but, hey, ya gotta sneak up on those aminals.

Thanks for that ...
I had not thought of that angle.
Evidently, Chelsea wears cammo as dress-up garb on Friday nights and was offended at the military dissing her choice.
HA!

Let me see if I understand this? Do you think publishing any person's address is correct and proper? Or simply a high profile law enforcement officer? How about those serving in the military?

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. Let's see if this works.
Nope. Here is the address as I can't figure out a link.
