Dutch Intifada Traffic
We’re getting a large amount of traffic from Dutch blog geenstijl.nl, about our posts on the car-burning spree in the Moroccan neighborhood of Amsterdam, that followed the shooting of a Moroccan Muslim who stabbed two police officers: De auto’s branden weer in Amsterdam-West.
Can any LGF reader translate what it says? Believe it or not, I don’t speak Dutch; and Babelfish’s translator is worthless for this one.
UPDATE at 10/23/07 2:28:49 pm:
Several readers were kind enough to email translations; here’s one of the clearest:
The Dutch Intifada. Night 8. Around 7h30 tonight, another car went up in flames at the Maarten Corver court in Amsterdam. Just coincidence? Well no. Check that little Google Map at Alarmeringen.nl. (note: A site that tracks emergency calls) If it isn’t Slotervaart, our Paris suburb in Amsterdam. Yes, the Netherlands appears in colors once again. Rightwing blogs in America are already talking about a Dutch Intifada. And that’s what the boys with the Cola bottle “peut” (=firebomb, Molotov cocktail) in Slotervaart think of as super-cool, of course. Kind request to the police in 020-West. Curfew please and taser anything that walks the street. If they explode they can be arrested (optionally). Good luck. The night is still young. UPDATE: Vehicle for handicapped on fire. Police says investigating.
LGF commenter “Red Sock” has another translation and more info here.
