Promoting the White Nationalists

The Center for Vigilant Freedom continues promoting their allies, the Belgian white nationalist party Vlaams Belang, with a post on a report by VB leader Filip DeWinter: Dewinter: Islamisation Country Report - Belgium.

A reminder, in case you’ve missed the controversy and are tempted to believe DeWinter is a real friend of the counter-jihadists; on Filip DeWinter’s bookshelf we’ve seen the White Power symbol known as the Odin’s Cross:

The symbol also shows up in the Vlaams Belang youth magazine:

Also on DeWinter’s bookshelf, a framed photograph of him with French fascist Jean Marie Le Pen:

In May of this year, Filip DeWinter and Frank Vanhecke met with National Front leaders Le Pen and Bruno Gollnisch at the funeral of Holocaust denier—and Vlaams Blok founder—Karel Dillen:

And here’s some new information on the web of White Power connections; in 2005, DeWinter’s friends Le Pen and Gollnisch attended a white supremacist conference in France with ex-KKK leader David Duke, neo-Nazis Don Black and Kevin Alfred Strom (now in prison for pedophilia), and BNP leader Nick Griffin.

David Duke wrote about his meeting with Le Pen on his hate site:

Dr. Gollnisch introduced me to Jean Marie LePen, and LePen then also proudly introduced me around the EU Parliament and invited me to a private dinner that evening. LePen and I discussed almost every critical issue facing our people. I can assure you that he is as fully knowledgable and committed as I am on the issues dear to my heart. We formed a friendship and understanding that has endured to this day, and I believe it will continue after he is, as we hope, elected France’s next president.

It’s political suicide for US counter-jihadists to make alliances with these kinds of people, and those bloggers who are throwing their wholehearted support behind these groups will regret it.

UPDATE at 11/23/07 5:25:08 pm:

In other news about Vlaams Belang, today they lost their bid to split Belgium into two countries: Vlaams Belang Split Initiative Voted Down: Belgium United?
