Monday Afternoon Linkfest

I’ve fixed a couple of small bugs in the spinoff links feature today, and also tweaked some little interface elements:

* You can only rate one link at a time. If you click the rating button for another link before the rating process is finished, nothing will happen. Previously you would see an incorrect and confusing error message, and that’s never a good thing. Just ask Bill Gates.

* The “Show top rated links” click-thingy (it’s not really a link, although it looks like one) in the top center of the page is initially disabled and unclickable, and only becomes active after the page is finished loading. This is to prevent odd behavior if you click it before the Javascript click handler is properly installed, because we all know how painful that can be.

* There are two new categories to pick from when you post a link: “Video” and “Moonbats.”

* Internally, the code is inching closer to pure Unobtrusive JavaScript, and a lot of extraneous ID tags and other non-semantic markup has been eliminated through use of the jQuery Library and its powerful XPATH/CSS-based parent/descendant/sibling selector syntax. (“Wha?!” says the reading audience…)

With those update notes and the technical gobbledygook out of the way, here’s that linkfest open thread…

Compare Electricity Prices in your area. Texas Electricity is deregulated; you have the right to choose Texas Electric Rates from among many Texas Electric Companies.

Ron Paul knocked some sense into me and now you guys seem really are out there.
