They were gonna give it to Bill Clinton but...

The more they speak the clearer their intentions are.
They seem to ignore the fact that most of them would be first on the block so to speak...

Anyone know if Rice will be seated with the cabinet or with Al-Jazeera?

10 CyanSnowHawk  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:19:15pm

Maybe they'll learn something.

Or at least get a new set of photos to photoshop for their protest demonstrations.

11 newsjunkie_ky  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:19:17pm

The dems are pathetic.
NOW can we question their patriotism?

13 loflyer  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:20:35pm

Not really much difference in the coverage by Al-Jazeera and that of the AP, BBC or Reuters. Yep Al-Jazeera fits right in...

14 swamprat  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:20:36pm

Wouldn't want them behind me. Nope. Nosirree. Only way to seat them, in my opinion.

The Dems adore radical Islamic media. Radical Islam can blow stuff up while the Dems use their surrogates ( Alex Jones, Air America, and Michale Moore) to conjure up conspiracies that blame it all on Bush/Cheney.

21 Sharmuta  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:22:20pm

22 Cap'n DOC  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:22:20pm

Also, I would probe,x-ray,take apart their cameras and put them back together, etc, before I would even let them near the POTUS.

24 lawhawk  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:23:24pm

So, they're giving al Jazeera prime seating. Must be nice in the world of the leftists to on the one hand complain that Bush is taking away everyone's freedoms and rights, and on the other hand have not only the party of opposition have prime seating, but they provide it to the mouthpiece of the enemies of the US.

Gotcha.

It's all about the priorities.

My guess is that Helen Thomas might be bumped from her slot at the White House briefings in favor of someone even more anti-American. The Democrats are giving al Jazeera a shot at the crown...

25 The Shadow Do  Mon, Jan 28, 2008 5:24:00pm

I posted this list of the President's guests on the last thread, but a contrast needs to be drawn here:
- Staff Sgt. Craig Charloux of Bangor, Maine, who served in Iraq for 14 months and served as a leader of an Armored Reconnaissance Squadron. He was seriously wounded by two grenade blasts but was able to successfully complete the raid, in which eight al-Qaida operatives were killed.
—Dr. Bill Krissoff of the United States Navy Medical Corps. He applied to the Navy Medical Corps after his oldest son, Marine 1st Lt. Nathan Krissoff, was killed in combat in Iraq.

right after the Presidents speech - all the Democrats have been invited to a female genital mutilation party sponsored by Al Jiz. Fun times for morally equivalent rat bastards. It will most certainly get worse before it gets better, but it will get better. This country needs a Dem in the White house with a Dem. house and senate...then we'll learn. The Republicans surely lost their way and need one hell of a wake up call. Time to blast and start from scratch.

Ziggy (#51),

Yeah, definitely not a place to be in the fog. Watched a guy tumble out of control to the rock outcropping half way down, fortunately some brave souls "bowling pinned" themselves for him and stopped him before he hit the rocks. Watched another guy nearly disappear into a crevasse with a raging melt river flowing at the bottom. And had to scamper out of the way of a car sized rock that broke loose and right hand curved all the way down like it was tracking me. Fun times. ;-)

It will most certainly get worse before it gets better, but it will get better. This country needs a Dem in the White house with a Dem. house and senate...then we'll learn. The Republicans surely lost their way and need one hell of a wake up call. Time to blast and start from scratch.

But consider how much irrepairable damage could be done in that 4 years...

Also consider that this is very similar to the frame of mind of conservatives who were pissed off at G.H.W. Bush for backtracking on taxes... they stayed home in droves or cast "protest" votes for Perot allowing Slick Willy to be elected, all the time thinking that after 4 years of that clown the country would be ready to return the reins to the Republicans... how's that working out for ya?

It's a bad strategy that may not play out the way you think it will.
Far better to put someone in place as close as possible to your views, and try to strengthen conservative influence within the party and in the electorate in the meantime. Frankly, the most effective approach might be grassroots efforts to replace the wafflers with conservatives at the Congressional level... control of the legislature often has more effect than of the Presidency.

I plan to skip tonight's SOTU. Bush lost me when he proved that he cares more about illegal aliens than he does Americans.

I'm also skipping it and the reason you cite is one of the many that I have.

Not me. I love the SOTU. I don't remember a time when I missed it.

I just don't have any interest in watching. Bush will announce his great plans for this last year, while the Dems will be sleeping, snoring, or making rude hand gestures imitating masturbation.

Nancy and Harry just want to make sure that al-Jaz gets them from their "good side."

And, yes, the SOTU live-blog thread is the drinking thread. I say, every time Nancy blinks. Any other proposals?

I'm worried that watching her blink for too long can induce seizures. I'll just read the thread.

Fun times. ;-)

My friend and I were sternly warned by the ranger not to go. That night on the news they reported two died at Tuckerman's due to poor vis. Lost to a crevasse and raging melt river. No run is worth your life.

Sometimes I think it's just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. I hope I'm wrong. I need tfk to kick me into shape.

You know, a lot of us were feeling the same way, before Reagan came in and kicked congress and the Soviets in the ass. America can do anything, we just need good leadership and America will move forward again. I am waiting for Newt Gingrich to run in 2012, there is just something about Newt that I find very appealing. Intelligent thoughtful and full of ideas, some good some not so good. I was hoping he would run this election but he ran afoul of elections laws concerning the funding of his American Solutions organization.

The volcano experience? Eat a couple of egg salad sandwiches and find the smallest room in your house to spend some time in. :~(
When I was in Pearl Harbor 30 years ago, the oil was still bubbling to the surface. My daughter just went a couple of months ago and said it was still rising.
But it's a lllooonnnggg flight from the East Coast. We did the San Fran stop, then Hawaii to break up the trip.

Not to worry overly much, we'll come out the other end of all this just fine, America has had the knack of having the right person at the right time, in any given instance. The stumbles we endure are a reminder of the path we must take in order to sustain this great experiment.

Our forefathers worked wayy too hard and at MANY times during the forming of America encountered much rougher times than what the USA is going through now and thank the Lord Almighty that they didn't throw in the towel and say we were done for. I won't ever say America is done for, it just seems so disrespectful to them. I won't ever give up the fight, America deserves our fight/support and so do our troops to keep this land free and brave. We will always have to fight evil, that is just a fact of life.

re: #25 The Shadow Do

Thanks for posting this list. You know, bush ticks me off at times with stuff I think is not right, but he does a lot of good. That list is interesting and it would not surprise me if he handpicked them and not his staffers.

The CommieDems are good dhimmis... They are already appeasing their mohammedan masters.

Of course when sharia comes (inevitable if immigration from ROPland remains unchecked) they will be the first against the wall. We conservatives will be armed at least.

This is precisely why we must not allow the 2nd amendment to be messed with. It is what ensures not only the 1st amendment but keeps gov't in check. Imagine what chavez and fidel castro would do if they had a constitutionally allowed armed citizens. Even canadians have told me..whatever you do DO not give up your right to bear arms. They can see the effects.

I know some didn't grow up with guns nor shoot them..but I hope they realize how much it does help to have it in the back of these fat, dumb and happy politicians minds and keeps them slightly in check, they aren't all powerful in all sense of the word. Think about it, if there were an absence of guns...these politicians would be even worse, imo.

You go up to a house and it has a Beware of Owner sign with a handgun, as a robber do you choose that one or the next house? I'd choose the next :P .

And all the rest of whom for which to whensoever of partially indeterminate bio-chemical degredation. Seek the path to the sudsy yellow nozzle of their foaming nocturnal parametric digital whole-wheat inter-faith geo-thermal terpsichorean ejectamenta. -- From board tape at Zappa concert, outdoors, at Blossom Music Center, Akron, Ohio, summer 1984. This quote was in the middle of a spoken section of "The Mud Club" in which a dude walks into the club with a blue Mohawk and proceeds to "work the floor, work the wall, work the monitor system. . . ." The band was having monitor feedback problems at the Blossom concert, and there are numerous references to P.A. equipment throughout this ramble. Other than that, the quote is meaningless, I guess. But great imagery!
