More Than 10,000 Links Served

With more than 10,000 links in the database already, less than a month after launch, it looks like the “spinoff links” feature is pleasing to the ravening bloodthirsty hounds of the lizard army. Since the click counter was developed and launched on January 16, we’ve recorded 122,200 total clicks on the links.

On the LGF front page, the ‘Top Rated Links’ area now opens by default, to the ‘Most Recent Links’ category, so you can quickly see the links that have been posted since the last time you loaded the page. If you’d rather not have that area open, just click the link above it that says ‘Hide top rated links.’ Every time you click that link, a cookie is saved in your browser recording the current state, visible or hidden; if it was hidden the last time you loaded the front page, it will be hidden the next time (and the reverse).

The LinkViewer has a new button that lets you collapse/expand the link descriptions, to help you quickly look through the links by their titles.

And for the geeks among the bloodthirsty ravening hounds, the LinkViewer code is 100% valid HTML 4.01 Transitional (no tables in sight), and the Javascript is completely in the “unobtrusive” style (i.e., no ‘onclick’ attributes or embedded <script> tags). Again I must give a big plug to the powerful jQuery JavaScript Library.
