Got Six in Scandinavia
Norwegian and Swedish police have arrested six non-Buddhists on suspicion of funding terrorism in Somalia.
Oslo/Stockholm - Police in Norway and Sweden on Thursday detained six people on suspicion of funding terrorism abroad. The raids were apparently coordinated between police forces in the Nordic neighbours.
Swedish security police spokesman Jakob Larsson said three arrests were made in the Stockholm area and that the suspicions against the three Swedish nationals included “preparing terrorist crimes and funding of terrorism.”
He declined to offer further comment.
Other media outlets reported that the suspects attempted to fund terrorism in Somalia. There was no link to cartoonists or artists involved in making controversial cartoons of the Prophet Mohammed.
