RetweetVideo: Israeli Vets Care For Endangered Animals

Fri, Apr 4, 2008 at 2:36:38 pm PDT

Here’s a very telling contrast to our earlier post about the rare sea turtle butchered by Palestinians (so they could drink its blood as an aphrodisiac): a CNN/IBN report from last month, about Israeli vets caring for and healing endangered sea turtles.

This shows the difference between cultures that chose to build and those that chose to destroy.
One of the many side benefits of building is you can afford to spend time doing these kind of altruistic endeavors.
And those that chose to destroy spend all their time destroying and making up stories how the destruction makes their dicks grow.

Well, with as long a coastline as Gaza has, they could have turned it in to a gorgeous tourist destination for the eco-oriented types, but instead, they've done gone and trashed the place in the hopes of destroying Israel. Israeli beaches are gorgeous, to say nothing of the views, and imagine what a little tourism could do for that moribund economy. Of course, the Islamists hate everything about the West and tourism, to say nothing of their misogynistic ways.

You have air in your lines. Try the suggestion above to open all your hot water taps. If that does not work there is probably a valve on your furnace for bleeding the lines, but if you don't know what you are doing with the furnace you might consider calling somebody like your dad, a neighbor or if worse comes to worse, the oil company. (Try really hard not to call them on Friday night. Weekend rates are over the moon. A hotel so you can sleep would be much cheaper.)

106 Ludicrous  Fri, Apr 4, 2008 3:20:34pm

Sea turtles are suffering a herpes-like epidemic.
Turtles infected with the virus develop wart-like growths. In many cases, the tumors develop around and on the turtles's eyes leading to blindness.
In other cases, the tumors develop on internal organs and cause death.

Very tragic end to awesome animals.
The Turtle Hospital in Marathon FL treats and releases sea turtles suffering from this epidemic; they also rescue and rehabilitate injured turtles.

Don't know about that virus, but turtles/tortoises also happen to carry salmonella which can and does spread to humans.

So... this former Green Beret is showing us how to de-link .50BMG ammo, so that we can load the rounds into Barrett mags. You basically take the linked rounds, tap them gently against a wooden workbench business-end first, that loosens 'em up enough to pry out. He hands off to IF and turns away; IF, with his trademark zeal, begins cheerfully bashing away these enormous BMG cartridges against the bench. Me, I'm starting to edge away, wondering where IF's thumb is going to land when it's all over... Green Beret turns around again, grins, and tells IF "you don't really have to be THAT enthusiastic" or something to that effect...

To be expected, no? Israel is a modern, civilized country. Much unlike the Arabs next door (come to think of it, on all three counts). I wonder if at least some of the attraction the barbarians seem to hold for the Leftiecrats and their news media has to do with this -- some kind of weird mutation of admiration for the Noble Savage. Garbage in, garbage out.

Or it may just be that the savages like to keeel people who say bad things about them.

It's the difference between right and wrong, good and evil, the civilized and the barbaric.

How can some people be so blinded by hatred of Jews that they can't see this? (I'm not referring to anyone on LGF.)

Why would Reuters state that the "Palestinians" gave some of the turtle's blood to "children suffering from trauma" if not to implicate Israel in the suffering of the children? What is this endless, endless picking away?

Yet here, thankfully, we have proof of the kindness of Israeli vets towards these vulnerable turtles.

U.N. Forecasters: Global Temperatures to Decrease

Average global temperatures in 2008 are forecast to be lower than in previous years, thanks to the cooling effect of the ocean current in the Pacific, U.N. meteorologists say.

The World Meteorological Organisation's secretary-general, Michel Jarraud, said it was likely that La Nina, an abnormal cooling of sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, would continue into the summer.

If the forecast holds true, global temperatures will not have risen since 1998, prompting some to question climate change theory.

I guess the Libertarians never came. There was supposed to be an emigration of up to 20,000 (!) a few years ago. I wonder why they initially chose Claremont?

Anyone who misses even one in that gang can join American Soldier and post at their hate site.

Here is the thread where Charles so rightfully banned them.

I'm with you. I normally keep my peace on this subject, but I gotta back up up here, hon. With all due respect for the people involved, I have to judge by how they were blogging here, and it was scary. I got pretty tired of picking up and dusting off picked on newbies hit by that gang for NO reason whatsoever. The last week was like a horror movie, as far as I'm concerned. Mean mean mean, and glad I am that they have their own blog(s) to grouse on - which I will not be visiting - ever.

The only part of Florida I like is Key West and I can not afford to move there for the winter, if I was going to do a summer winter thing it would be New Mexico and New Hampshire.

Reaganite was way off base, and so was Ann. To be honest, they shocked me. I respect his service to our country, and up until that mess, he and Ann were no problem, which IIRC, it was the bullying POS Rayra that told Charles off, and also thought he was Charles. He is the worst of the worst. The gang all chimed in, and we who were there when it happened were just in shock at how little we really knew those cretins. Take a look at the LGF Watch Lite they call a blog, and see how many banned lizards go there, and how some, like American soldier, post on both blogs. And see what they say about LGF, Charles and the posters here. They have to have a double agent or 3, but Charles has an amazong ability to spot their numerous sockpuppets and ban them.

They will start bad mouthing me over there where the sun don't shine in 10,9,8...

We just finished R&J. I had ordered the Oxford schools version of that and several others and one lone Cambridge (heavy on drama, light on the in-line notes) for a different play for comparison. I ended up having to order the Cambridge for the kiddo (that was what she liked best), but she did enjoy it more than a little and worked quite hard at it. Wreaths of flowers would not have gone over well, but she did quite enjoy Leonardo's version of Romeo & Juliet. Not the "best" I've ever seen but primo for communicating a real understanding of what is going on to today's kids in terms they understand.

The primitive belief that turtle blood is an aphrodisiac is typical of a superstitious culture. The desire for an aphrodisiac in a culture that denies women any rights and denies most men a woman is stupid. The Palis are no better than the primitives in other areas of the world who want ground rhino horn and tiger gallbladders for whatever imagined uses they can contrive.

I am not an environ-mental nut. I do not worship mother earth. I do, however, feel responsible to take good care of the planet God gave me to live on and pass it on in good shape to my children and grandchildren. I think animals are cool. Some of them are good to look at, and some of them are good to eat. I know the difference. I also believe that people are more important, in general.

Does that clear things up for you, FoolsMate?

I don't really know if this is where we as a people want to go on this. There are far more important matters than this.
I love sea turtles, horses, dogs, cats, pigs, and other fantastic animals that the good lord or the great tree trunk gave to our small world.
Sure many of us mistreat and improperly 'care' for the wild around us. But, and this is kind of important; the killing of the sea turtle was not what I initially thought it would be... It was quickly killed and drained of its blood. Much like a ritual killing of old in any biblical sense. Probably much more painlessly and humane than those we in the US go for our daily meat.
This thread of articles does not improve our standing.

I wish I had missed it, too. I think it took a lot of us who saw it unfold thinking we were in the middle of a nightmare. There is also another thread, but that one shows what they did better, I think. And Charles did not immediately ban them..it was that thread I posted, I think, where he did.

I posted there when it first was started, in good intentions, when bayou_king was using Charles' kindness to raise monies for victims of Katrina to fill up his own bank account. We were furious, as a lot of lizards had given him money and products. We were posting about it, and Charles rightfully asked us to take it off of LGF, and thus their blog started with good intentions. When it disintegrated to the point where a beloved lizard was attacked by the one who runs the now-hate site posted an angry post to this wonderful Viet Nam veteran, who the blog owner knew personally, because he didn't post on a military thread the owner put up on July 4th, and who had recently lost his Mum, a group of us protested and we were out of there for good, and have never looked back.

That is the end of it...a lot of lizards know more than they want to, as they also witnessed the 2 days of the garbage leak.

I can't recall you getting into a flame war with anyone.

Have a great evening and weekend!

I had no problems. Everyone to and from was nice. I ended up chatting with people both ways, but that always happens to me (I'm not shy).

My boss is a typical white person, btw. :)

The difference between a culture that honors life, and a culture that worships death.

Reminds me of a main page insert over at religionofpeace.com

"In 2007 Islam and Judaism's holiest holidays overlapped for 10 days.
Muslims racked up 397 dead bodies in 94 terror attacks across 10
countries during this time... while Jews worked on their 159th Nobel Prize."

What exactly, have the Palestinians contributed to humanity?
Anything?

I understand. I'm used to Baltimore, but it could be a shock for someone from NH! And there are definitely bad areas that I have no problems with in daytime but would not walk through at night, as a rule.

I have a co-worker who lived in a really bad area for a time, when she first started with my company. She wouldn't let her son play outside. The good news - she bought a nice home in a good hood. The bad news - the old hood is still there and still bad.

Cattt,

Sorry I missed your post. If you are still online, I hope you will see this. I agree with you, It was indeed a horror movie, and I must admit that I have jumped on newbies, but they were ones who were obviously trolls, mobys, or sockpuppets of banned posters who threw off a familiar smell. A troll is a perfect target to hit, and it is amazing how the ratings system helps...and now the monitor lizards will use their special sense of smell to find them, and also delete their poop.

They were like a gang...20/20 hindsight on my part. Anyone who defends them should join them on their hate site. BTW, for any who want to check out their hate site? Hazmat suit required.

re: #253 NY Nana

This is Charles' home, and they dirtied the carpets so badly that they had to be thrown out.

They are so jealous of Charles that they reek of drool.

Darlin', I have taken great pains to stay out of the Blog Wars rhetoric here and elsewhere. I interact with a great many people in Cyberspace and Meatspace; some of whom I will have a polite and even enjoyable conversation with but won't invite into my home for a beer. I even occasionally dine with Dummocrats and Wiccans.
I have never personally insulted Charles Johnson, NBPundit, Baron Whateverhisnameis, or even you. I'd appreciate it immensely if you'd dial down the language where I am concerned. I have enough to do fighting my little corner of the GWoT without dealing with cybersquabbles.
Thank you.

re: #336 American Soldier

I have never seen you insult anyone, and I respect what you and your wonderful son do so much.

As you and I know, RN's do not shock easily...but seeing someone who I respect as much as I respect you post there was truly a shock...and it still is. Ed tried to keep posting here, but he was also begging to be banned as he extolled the virtues of the enemy, aka the hate blog..and got what he deserved.

/Had any discussions with rayra the bully about the expulsions of Jews from Jewish land in Israel that he supports so strongly? I wonder if he has a clue as to what their lives are really like? He insisted they would get new houses, money, etc. You and your son know just how ridiculous that is.

And yes, I also respect rayra's service to this country as a Marine.

You have my email addy if you wish to discuss this further. Shabbat shalom, and have a zissen Pesach.

Well, I tell ya...that puts me to mind of Paul...though he went to "the other side" all his strengths and every powerful thing about him remained, stretched to the limit in traveling the way he knew was far better than the old... :)

In mine own life too, I find that --it was sheer physical strength exerted, a lot, when my kinds were little, to bring them up...but now that they exert minds of "their own" 100%, the work, though all internally wrought, towards them, is TONS harder...

Just sayin'... :)

re: #289 cookielady

Sea turtles are a delicacy and their meat is highly prized for its taste around the world, and has been for hundreds of years. There's every reason to believe the meat was sold and eaten and in that sense, I think this kill was different than, say, shooting a rhino solely for sawing off its horn. Further, scientists estimate roughly 100-250k sea turtles are killed for eating every year; I don't think the contribution of Pali fishermen to this number is significant.

The superstitions are of course nonsense and unfortunate, as you describe, but not unusual in the undeveloped world. No one here seems to have considered that in all probability the average Pali fisherman is ignorant of the turtle's endangered species status. I do think many of the comments here are driven by squeamishness over butchering animals and the opportunity to portray the Palis as savages. They are, but not because of this.

Let me just finish by saying there is plenty to condemn the Palestinians for, starting with suicide bombings that routinely target women and children, cheering after 9/11, and hatred of Jews taught to children in their schools.

re: #350 FoolsMate

in all probability the average Pali fisherman is ignorant of the turtle's endangered species status.

No doubt they are, and that is part of the problem.
With the billions spent on them, they should have had educational system and health care systems to rival Canada's, or Finland's, for example.

That they remain mired in poverty and superstition is really what this thread is all about. Not the poor turtle, who is only their victim du jour.

If they can slice and dice each other up, their human enemies, and turtles, can expect no better.
