CAIR Supports Carter's Meeting with Hamas

Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 6:35:24 pm PDT

You might think that with all the negative publicity they’ve received lately for their connections to Hamas, the Council on American Islamic Relations would lay low for a while and refrain from openly shilling for the terrorist gang.

You might think that, but you’d be wrong: CAIR: Jimmy Carter to Meet with Hamas Leader in Syria.

Carter would be the first Western leader of his stature to meet with the Hamas chief. Though Meshal met with Clinton officials in the 1990s, the Bush administration has sought to isolate Hamas, enforcing rigid sanctions on its government in Gaza and refusing to meet with its leaders unless it recognizes Israel and abandons terror. . .

But Ibrahim Hooper, communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a non-profit advocacy group, said Carter’s efforts demonstrate he’s a true partner in peace.

“I think if true, this report would indicate that President Carter is willing to travel any road in search of peace,” he said. “I think President Carter would only undertake such a mission if he believed that something could be achieved in terms of peace and reconciliation in the region.”

Hooper added that because of Carter’s reputation among Palestinians he might be able to bring some pressure to bear.

“Obviously President Carter has a great amount of credibility in the region because of his past efforts seeking peace internationally,” Hooper said.

Might be just a bit over the top.

My AR-15 should be here in a couple of days. I just bought a nice locking steel cabinet for it and the rest of the boomsticks. I also bought an 18.5-inch barrel for the Mossberg 500 12-gauge to make it a little more wieldy for home defense. I'm keeping the walnut stock, though. For a girl like me, a pistol grip is too "tacti-cool"--the kick would hurt me more in the wrist than the shoulder.

Its going good. I hooked up with a good outfit. Normal people, thank God

That is the most important thing. I said on an earlier thread that a lot of the owner operator type people that I work with are looking for greener pastures because this fuel thing is killing them. It's tough out there right now.

Howdy Iron Fist!

so, how's this Garmscian Whore of the Caliphate thing working out for you tonight? I'm not entirely enjoying it.

I guess I better just grab a beer and enjoy the ride tonight.

re: #108 Opilio

The scandal/response is the front page story over at dKoz now. The comment section devolved immediately into slobbering Obama worship.

What other kind is there?

The true believers are truly insane. The prose is religious.

I swear, if I saw dogs and cats sleeping together and Four Horsemen I would not be at all surprised.

re: #90 livefreeor die

Did anyone wade into the cesspool of the KosKidz to find out their take on this?

I was just over there 10 minutes ago. From their perspective, it's all good. The Clinton and McCain comments on Obama's statement reflect desperation... Obama hit it out of the park with his "clarification"... dKoz has become a cult of Gozer Obama worshippers in the last month or so.

Truckers have to pay for their own fuel? I never knew that.

“Obviously President Carter has a great amount of credibility in the region because of his past efforts seeking peace internationally,” Hooper said.

Let me re-phrase this a bit:

“Obviously President Carter has a great amount of credibility in the region because of his past (anti-Semitic, Anti-American) efforts seeking peace internationally (to comfort criminals internationally),” Hooper said.

That's better now!

That's okay. I'm sure it wasn't too stressful for him-someone probably helped him with the big words.

I recall that he sent me an "autographed" picture. I would give ANYTHING to have that picture now... ;)

...and so would some of my friends, who would use it against me for blackmail purposes....

Owner-operator means you own the bills, too.

re: #98 Sarge1984

Damn. The last playlist thread's dead, this one's not even close to being lighthearted...

Where's the FNDT?

conservgirl said she'd have a martooni tonight!

Lighthearted?

Here's a joke.

A husband walks into Victoria's Secret to purchase a sheer lingerie for
his wife. He is shown several possibilities that range from $250 to $500
in price; the more sheer it is, the higher the price.

He opts for the one that is most sheer, pays the $500 and takes the
lingerie home. He presents it to his wife and asks her to go upstairs, put
it on and model it for him.

Upstairs, the wife thinks, "I have an idea. It's so sheer that it might as
well be nothing.? I won't put it on, I'll do the modeling naked, return
it tomorrow and keep the $500 refund for myself."

So she appears naked on the balcony and strikes a pose.

The husband says, "Good Lord! You'd think that for $500, they'd at least
iron it!"

He never heard the shot.

Funeral on Thursday.

Also check out the history of Angola and Mozambique and of course South Africa.
Lots of people were working to save ability of these countries (Rhodesia and RSA) to feed africa, and transition toward majority rights. Instead Carter pulled the CIA funding for the pro-democracy forces and handed these countries over to the Cubans, Chicoms, and Russians who naturally sponsored totalitarian dictatorships, with black front men natch, but whose main job was funnel cheap exotic ores to Warsaw Pact --which was just beginning to need foreign materials (and currency) that Reagan ramped up to win the cold war. And of course they needed to deny the USN the Cape in the event of say an invasion of Afghanistan, since any relief to Iran (for a short time yet still our ally in SWAsia) would have to go the long way because Egypt and the Suez canal was still closed to the US.

Nope. Eeeevil black rifle for now. We'll save the customizing until the budget allows. I'm still trying to afford enough 5.56 to fill four or five mags.
