CAIR Supports Carter's Meeting with Hamas

Fri, Apr 11, 2008 at 6:35:24 pm PDT

You might think that with all the negative publicity they’ve received lately for their connections to Hamas, the Council on American Islamic Relations would lay low for a while and refrain from openly shilling for the terrorist gang.

You might think that, but you’d be wrong: CAIR: Jimmy Carter to Meet with Hamas Leader in Syria.

Carter would be the first Western leader of his stature to meet with the Hamas chief. Though Meshal met with Clinton officials in the 1990s, the Bush administration has sought to isolate Hamas, enforcing rigid sanctions on its government in Gaza and refusing to meet with its leaders unless it recognizes Israel and abandons terror. . .

But Ibrahim Hooper, communications director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a non-profit advocacy group, said Carter’s efforts demonstrate he’s a true partner in peace.

“I think if true, this report would indicate that President Carter is willing to travel any road in search of peace,” he said. “I think President Carter would only undertake such a mission if he believed that something could be achieved in terms of peace and reconciliation in the region.”

Hooper added that because of Carter’s reputation among Palestinians he might be able to bring some pressure to bear.

“Obviously President Carter has a great amount of credibility in the region because of his past efforts seeking peace internationally,” Hooper said.

Damn. The last playlist thread's dead, this one's not even close to being lighthearted...

Where's the FNDT?

conservgirl said she'd have a martooni tonight!

Lighthearted?

Here's a joke.

A husband walks into Victoria's Secret to purchase a sheer lingerie for
his wife. He is shown several possibilities that range from $250 to $500
in price; the more sheer it is, the higher the price.

He opts for the one that is most sheer, pays the $500 and takes the
lingerie home. He presents it to his wife and asks her to go upstairs, put
it on and model it for him.

Upstairs, the wife thinks, "I have an idea. It's so sheer that it might as
well be nothing.? I won't put it on, I'll do the modeling naked, return
it tomorrow and keep the $500 refund for myself."

So she appears naked on the balcony and strikes a pose.

The husband says, "Good Lord! You'd think that for $500, they'd at least
iron it!"

He never heard the shot.

Funeral on Thursday.

Also check out the history of Angola and Mozambique and of course South Africa.
Lots of people were working to save ability of these countries (Rhodesia and RSA) to feed africa, and transition toward majority rights. Instead Carter pulled the CIA funding for the pro-democracy forces and handed these countries over to the Cubans, Chicoms, and Russians who naturally sponsored totalitarian dictatorships, with black front men natch, but whose main job was funnel cheap exotic ores to Warsaw Pact --which was just beginning to need foreign materials (and currency) that Reagan ramped up to win the cold war. And of course they needed to deny the USN the Cape in the event of say an invasion of Afghanistan, since any relief to Iran (for a short time yet still our ally in SWAsia) would have to go the long way because Egypt and the Suez canal was still closed to the US.

This is OT and I should do it in an open thread - but I really wanted to share this before I retire for the evening.

This time last week I was crying in my beer (actually - I was just drinking it) because I had just gotten canned from my job (although - it was without cause I got 6 weeks of severance pay - but I digress) and I was feeling pretty glum

You good folks were so great to me (especially Catttt - I know there were a lot of others - but I remember her the most - I was really drunk! She told me to go to bed!) I just can't thank you all enough!

I just wanted to share the news that I have obtained new employment and I start on Monday. It's a better job and one I've wanted for many years now - at the Pentagon.

Again, I just wanted to thank all my Lizard-buddies for your kind words and support when I had a REALLY bad day.

And with that, I will say Good Night!

I think Carter turned against Israel -- no, wait... the entire sane half of Western civilization -- as a response to the grinding humiliation of the hostage crisis. You see, he applied the highest of "enlightened" liberal policy to the task of freeing the hostages... and yet it failed. He desperately needed a scapegoat to keep his ego and worldview intact, and that scapegoat couldn't be the Iranians... they should have responded to his ham-handed overtures with love and adoration. No, the only forces on earth powerful enough and evil enough to undercut his "enlightened" liberalism was America and International Jooism! He had to blame someone, and it wasn't gonna be himself or his policies.

Funny thing about the left -- whenever they fail, the finger of blame eventually points toward the Jews. Domestic or foreign, its always the Jews.

Funny, that.

No, not really funny at all, is it.

What do y'all make of this little meeting in Texas tomorrow?
Governor Perry to host Muslim sect's spiritual leader

Texas Gov. Rick Perry plans to host a private dinner followed by fireworks near Austin on Saturday to honor the Aga Khan, a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad celebrating his 50th year as the spiritual leader of a Muslim sect.

Earlier in the day, the leaders are expected to be on hand as the University of Texas signs an agreement with Aga Khan University, which has campuses in Pakistan and other countries, fostering student and teacher exchanges between the institutions....

Neither Perry's office nor members of the Ismaili community said who is paying for Saturday's invitation-only party nor did they divulge who will attend it. Perry spokesman Robert Black said it would not be financed by the state or from economic development funds.

About 20,000 to 30,000 people are expected to hear the Aga Khan on Sunday in San Antonio. His U.S. schedule also includes stops in Georgia, Illinois and California.

The fuel is almost double what it was 18 months ago and the fuel adjustments in most shipper rates do not make up for the 50% increase in fuel costs. At best those adjustments increased the rates by 20 to 25%. The margins are paper thin as they are, so the little guy gets squeezed out. They simply cannot make it. Their will be contraction in the supply of trucks and the rates will increase significantly to those that remain. This means you will see increases in the price of most everything you buy that gets delivered by truck.

Im surprised it hasnt happened yet. I'm staring out the window of the truckstop and its at $4.13 a gallon. Our controller sends us qualcomm messages on national fuel prices and Indiana has good prices this week.

Which means it is costing you just under $1/mile to run.... just for fuel. This doesn't even include Truck/Trailer note, Insurance, Maintenance, Taxes.... etc. Rates off of the east coast right now pay for fuel and maybe a couple of sandwiches for the driver on the way out. It is a shame. I've heard talks of a strike before but usually nothing much comes of it. It is going to take a whole mess of little companies just shutting down before the economy will start to notice what really is going on.

Should have kept the SP1 I bought back in 73. Sold it for traveling money. Another sad side effect of marriage.

Unless the Supremes do the right thing on the 2nd Amendment, I think our three (one) choices are going to be not so friendly on gun rights. That's why I bought the AR now, before the election. I had budgeted it for next year, but it wouldn't do me any good to have the money and then have Obama and the democrat majority forbid me from buying it.

The worst thing Lucas did was take the older, original Anakin out of the three Jedis montage at the end of Episode 6 and substitute the new, punk Anakin. My husband and I started yelling at the screen the first time we saw the updated edition. My kids thought we were nuts.

You can't even parody this period of time, its a parody in itself.

It's sad. I'm 30-something, and I know it must be even more jarring for those in the Baby Boomer generation.

I remember morning in America. I remember my folks having ONE credit card, and only using it for emergencies. I remember sharing bedrooms with brothers and sisters instead of having my own room, and cable, and a video game in my room.

How did we all get to be drowning in debt, our government drowning in debt, in thrall to unqualfied politicians who would be unemployable in any real job? How did it get so screwy? Why am I having to prepare for an economic and political meltdown in the greatest country the world has ever known? Why can't we even name the enemy in the global war we're fighting?

And yet, and yet, I'm personally doing well financially. I am healthy and still have my parents. I count myself lucky every morning to be born in this country. I'm pretty much master of the part of my destiny I can control. I don't ask anything of the government except for roads, cops, and killing jihadis. When I think things are bad, I try to keep that in mind.

But it's hard sometimes, really hard.

What's worse then that Jew-hating scum Jimmy Carter?

How about an Israeli leadership that will meet with that antisemite?

Israeli officials to meet Carter

Israeli government officials will meet with former U.S. President Jimmy Carter when he visits the country next week.

President Shimon Peres, Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Shas Party chairman Eli Yishai and Israel Beiteinu leader Avigdor Lieberman will all meet with Carter, despite outrage in Israel over a planned meeting with a Hamas leader, the Jerusalem Post reported. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni both declined to meet Carter, citing "scheduling conflicts."

Leaders in Washington and Jerusalem reacted with outrage this week to reports that Carter planned to meet with Khaled Meshaal, a Hamas leader in Damascus.

A State Department spokesperson said senior officials had counseled Carter not to proceed with the meeting, and all three leading presidential contenders -- Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John McCain -- said they disagreed with Carter's plans.

Carter plans to arrive in Israel on Sunday and travel to the embattled town of Sderot on Monday.

NO, Jimmy Carter is a calculating traitor and all around Nazi wannabe.

I keep telling you, Carter was NOT a nuclear engineer. He went through Annapolis during WWII under a 3 year program that did not grant an engineering degree - much less a degree in nuclear engineering. He was part way through nuclear officer's training when he resigned his commission to go home and run the peanut business after his father died. If he ever got near a nuclear boat it was the Nautilus - while it was under construction. He never served on a nuclear boat.

Listen, I love peanut butter. So I'm not about to boycott Georgia peanuts in all forms. But I think LGF needs to have a strict policy of serving only Virginia peanuts on drinking threads and in the Lounge. No sacrifice, my scaly friends, because Virginia peanuts are the best gourmet peanuts in the world. So how about we start a special peanut-restriction movement in dishonor of Jimmah?

There's a ton of stuff over there that I'd just about die for. I have a rendering that belonged to my grandfather, who was an engineer for Ford, of the Piedmont, an all aluminum concept car from 1959. Back in '91 I took a trip to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. I asked the folks about info on old concept models, and managed to weasel my way into their archive room to look through pictures, and brochures. I didn't find the Piedmont, but I did read the brochure for the Nucleon which was going to be the first atomic powered car. It never got off the drawing board either.

I've been sleeping, for about 2 hours or less at a time. I'm trying to get more than that at one time. I've been up and down so much in the last three days, my body doesn't know day from night. So, I forced myself to actually do some stuff today (laundry etc) and only took one nap. I had a regular meal. I figure another 1/2 hour or so and maybe I'll get to sleep until sunrise.

This flu was like living in an alternate universe. I'd wake up because I was shivering so much my teeth were chattering -- take tylenol --go back to sleep and then wake up a hour later drenched in sweat.

GAWD it was AWFUL!

I had the flu once, years ago, and don't remember it being anything like this virus.
