I don't think that any one thing he has said is enough to sabotage his campaign. Collectively, that is a very different story.

If you say so.........

Iranian boats patrolling the Persian Gulf had no "confrontation" with a US Navy ship, an Iranian official told IRNA.

"Yesterday, Iranian vessels during a routine patrol mission asked questions from a US ship which is a common procedure between our coast guards and the transiting vessels," he said.

CNN television reported of a confrontation with the USS Typhoon on Thursday.

"There was no unnatural engagement between Iranian and the US boat, and CNN story is surprising," he added.

It denied the report saying the US vessel was allowed to continue its path after answering questions from the Iranian coast guards.

"American media are trying to say that the situation in the Persian Gulf is critical in order to set the grounds for a permanent US military presence in the region."
Last January, the same media reported of a similar engagement in the Strait of Hormuz.

It was refuted after Iran broadcast a video which made the US Navy in the region express doubts about the source of threats directed at their vessels.

What increasingly scares me about Obama is not his politics (scary as they are), it's his obvious and complete lack of judgement; as is evidenced by who he befriends. Is this really a man we want anywhere near the White House and appointing cabinet members like Jeremiah Wright? Even Hillary would be less dangerous.

The state of New Mexico has ordered a family owned photography company to pay more than $6,600 for declining a demand to take pictures at a same-sex ceremony, and a lawyer who is working on an appeal says it is an example of how "non-discrimination" or "hate" laws can be weapons in the hands of homosexual activists.

"The Constitution prohibits the state from forcing unwilling people to promote a message they disagree with and thereby violate there conscience," said Jordan Lorence, senior counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund, which is working on an appeal.

"The commission's decision shows stunning disregard for our client's First Amendment rights, and we will appeal...," he said.

That too is true. But I'm not so sure that Obama really h as a lot of those elite either. I think a lot of them saw an opportunity to land one right in the kisser on the Clintons and took the opportunity to do so, figuring they were safe. Now the Barry is becoming less and less viable a candidate every time he opens his mouth, who knows which way they're going to jump. What's more important? Kicking the Clintons in the teeth or the White House?

Democrats are doing a good job of gutting each other in this campaign. The longer Hillary remains in the race the better it is for McCain and the Republicans. I personally think the Republican party has turned into Democrat "lite" It is time for the Republicans and Democrats to reform to match their base supporters. Third parties will screw up elections for both parties, if they truly represented their constituants they wouldn't be in this situation....

What scares me about him isn't even his complete lack of judgment, it is his huge ego that does not even acknowledge that lack of judgment or experience. I about fell over when he claimed to have more foreign affairs experience than either Hill or McCain. And the words that he uses to describe his utter lack of military experience are flabbergasting.

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. 'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."

Keys, 27, said she's read several Black Panther autobiographies and wears a gold AK-47 pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power and killing 'em dead," according to an interview in the magazine's May issue, on newsstands Tuesday.

Another of her theories: That the bicoastal feud between slain rappers Tupac Shakur and Notorious B.I.G. was fueled "by the government and the media, to stop another great black leader from existing."

A BAHRAINI who orchestrated a vicious, knifepoint mugging of an Indian man by six teenagers has been jailed for three years.

The Bahraini teenagers, aged 16 to 18, were each sentenced to one year in jail, suspended for three years, by the High Criminal Court.

A 22-year-old Yemeni man was also accused of orchestrating the attack, but was cleared of all charges.

The Bahraini ringleader, aged 22, denied directing the teenage gang to ambush their victim as he walked through a Manama alley, in February last year.

Five of the six teenagers admitted beating and robbing the 34-year-old victim of his wallet and cash at knifepoint, while an 18-year-old denied being involved but was convicted.

The victim told police he was walking down an alley when he was suddenly ambushed by six youngsters.

They smashed a wooden plank over his head, threatened him with a knife and snatched his wallet, before running off

“The right of Muslims freely to leave Islam is emerging as an international human rights issue of the first order. Why We left Islam: Former Muslims Speak Out both documents and humanizes the tragedy of those born-Muslims who wish to pursue their conscience. The stories are vivid and the political implications profound.”

Robert Spencer, Director of Jihad Watch and NY Times bestselling author of “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)” and “The Truth About Muhammad.”
“Powerfully written and deeply compelling, these accounts of people of conscience who left Islam are rendered all the more poignant by the realization that each one of them, no matter their status or situation, lives under the death sentence mandated by the Prophet Muhammad for apostates from Islam. Why We Left Islam should be required reading for human rights activists and all those who value the dignity of the human person, so that they will see why this horrific denial of the freedom of conscience within Islam must be resisted by all people of goodwill.”

So, I went looking for flyover at wiki, they linked to "middle america". This is what appears under the "Politics" section...

The phrase Middle American values is a political cliché; like family values, it refers to more traditional or conservative politics, although places like Minneapolis, Madison, Wisconsin and Lawrence, Kansas (progressive but inland) provide exceptions to the stereotype.

Many of the political battleground states are situated in "Middle America".

And if you will adore me
And if you will take this throne
And if you bow before me
All I have is yours to own

There are those that look to Heaven
There are those that will never win
No one knows what will happen
There are those that turn to sin

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one will win this war
This is the way
This is the law

All the visions seen before you
All the kingdoms and the thrones
All are yours if you bow before me
Please adore me
All this you'll own

There are those that turn to Heaven
There are those ask questions why
If God is in the heavens
Why does God let children die

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one wins the war
This is the way
This is the law

(Solo)

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one wins the war
This is the way
This is the law

We are chosen...

Just as Satan tempted Jesus
And Jesus slips and falls
He is a dying on The Cross now
He has died to save us all

And Satan tempted Jesus
But Jesus resisted all
We all die
We are dying

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one wins the war
This is the way
This is the law

We are chosen
We are one
We are frightened of no one
And no one wins the war
This is the way
This is the law

Do you know where your Bitter, Angry Typical White Person is?

{BulgarWheat}

Upon reflection, Obama's remark reveals even more about his own Christianity. Jesus exhorts his followers to let go of anger and bitterness. People who wallow in anger and bitterness perceive themselves as victims of SOMETHING; the best way not to be a victim is not to act like one.

BAGHDAD (AP) - Iraqi soldiers acting on tips from detained Shiite militiamen found 14 bodies Saturday that had been buried in a field south of Baghdad, officials said.
It was the second discovery this week of mass graves in the area, raising to 44 the number of bodies located by Iraqi troops.

Twelve bodies found Saturday had been dumped in one grave about 500 yards away from the local office of radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al- Sadr's movement, while two others were buried together in a nearby area on the western outskirts of Mahmoudiya, a city spokesman said.

The spokesman, Ather Kamil, said the bodies were found after members of al-Sadr's Mahdi Army militia were detained and confessed to killing and burying dozens of Sunnis as well as some Shiites killed for criminal purposes.

The grisly discoveries came two days after the Iraqi troops found the remains of 30 people believed to have been killed more than a year ago in three abandoned houses elsewhere in the area.

An Iraqi army officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to release the information, also said the bodies were found after the recent arrests of several Shiite militiamen who provided information about where to find the bodies.

Good Morning Lizards for a wet and cold mid-Illinois.

We are supposed to get snow later today. Al Gore can kiss my foot.

Anyway, my comments in the masters so far:

Mickelson has surprised me. I did not think he cared anymore, but he obviously has put in a lot or work getting ready for this tournament. Currently. Trevor Immelman holds the lead at 8 under, followed by somebody named Brandt Snedecker at 7 under, then followed by Mickelson and several others at 5 under. MY pick, Lee Westwood, has fallen apart.

First, for some reason, the organizers of the Masters set the course up this year like a US Open course, where you are just trying to avoid disaster on each shot. You are not rewarded for a good shot, you have to hit a great shot to just not get hammered out there. Look for a bunch more big scores as guys get tired, make a mistake, and chalk up triple bogeys trying to throw the ball at the flag to get a birdie.

I think the real lead is with Mickelson at 5 under right now. Sometime this morning both Immeleman and Snedecker will look in the mirror, realize their names are not Nicklaus and Palmer, and will very quickly start clanking it around. By late Sunday you will hear their names in connection with announcer comments like "now over to the 15th will a par putt to stay even for the tournament".

As to Woods, he is 7 shots back at 1 under, has played not very well and is still in the hunt. I look for Woods to get a streak going, go about 3 or 4 under today, and be chasing Mickelson down all Sunday.

This Masters should come down to Mickelson and Woods, on the back 9, on Sunday.

Enjoy.

On, April 19, 2008, at 12 PM (noon) the neo-Nazi, white-supremacist organization known as the “National Socialist Movement” is planning to march and rally “against illegal immigration” on the National Mall in Washington, DC, on the North Side of the Washington Monument.

The National Socialist Movement, according to their website, are “America's Nazi Party”, and are “...inspired by our Fuhrer Adolf Hitler.” The group is currently, according to the Anti-Defamation League, the largest neo-Nazi group in the United States, largely due to the implosion of several other neo-Nazi groups.

They are the same organization that, in order to stir up hatred, marched in Toledo, Ohio (in 2005) in a neighborhood largely made up of people of color. They did indeed, get a reaction, as riots ensued, and the Nazis, and the police protecting them, were run out of the area for a time.

Who is going to pay for the background checks on those parents? In Pennsylvania there are both State Police and FBI background checks required to do anything other than a quick visit in a school. Not cheap.
All it would take would be one incident of a predator in a school in the state and any cost savings (if any) would fly out the window.

Rohtak: A one-week old baby boy who was declared dead by a doctor at Haryana's premier medical institution, PGIMS, here was found alive at the time of burial in this district on Thursday.

According to sources, Mukesh and his wife Mamta admitted their two day old child in the paediatric surgery department on April 5.

The parents of the child were issued a certificate by a doctor in the ward. The doctor certified that baby Vivek expired at 3 pm on Thursday. The parents took the ‘body’ to their native village Sangahera for burial.

As the baby was being placed in a pit for burial in the evening, the family members observed some movements in the body. On close examination, they found the child was alive.

The parents and other family members again rushed to the PGIMS and the child was admitted in the emergency ward for treatment. The child was responding to the treatment, a doctor on duty in the emergency ward said late at night.

PGIMS director Prof S S Sangwan said that the matter would be inquired into and strict action would be taken against the doctor who issued the "wrong certificate."

re: #154 realwest

Sorry for the delay, had to go eat breakfast.

Yep, Phil is in good shape. With the weather getting bad down there, Woods will have a hard time chasing him down. Immelman and Snedecker will hit it sideways, but I'm don't think Mickelson will.

I will be the first to say I was wrong about Mickelson and he surprised me. At this point I think he is 50/50 to get his third jacket. The filed has figured out that Tiger just sort of cruises the first two days of a tournament and then turns it on the last two. Well, the way to beat Tiger is jump out to a big lead and then make him have to chase you down. Problem is he then has to do it shooting to very tough pins on Saturday and Sunday.

So, if you just hit the ground running in a tournament on Thursday and Friday, you can put Woods in a very tough position. And like I say, they have Augusta set up like a US Open course this year (deep rough, shaved greens, very tough pin placements). I saw a guy putt from just off the green, and the ball rolled all the way off the green and into a pond on the other side. It's very hard to make up 5 or 6 strokes in 2 days on a course like that. If Mickelson can pick up 2 more strokes, nobody can catch him.

I have heard of a school* that ran a program like that, but it offered a discount to parents. Completely voluntary. But the parents worked in the lunchroom, only. Under supervision the entire time. They cooked, cleaned and shoveled food.

'Morning, all ye Lizards, and Happy Birthday to LeePro.

Late to the game here, but wanted to add my 2 cents re: BHusseinObama's comments about the good people of PA and the midwest.

Parsing: he basically says that faith/love of God and the Constitution is warped thnking - and the result of - job loss/depressed economy.

He truly doesn't comprehend that our faith in God and love of country/Constitution have been part of our souls since day one. We are the ones who seek to emulate our country's founding fathers - who believe in and live by that Constitution which confirms that right to love God, and to physically (w/ arms) defend our country.

Apparently in Obama's and Michelle's eyes this makes us losers.
What "CHANGE" is becomes more clear each time he thusly flaps his gums: he can cure what "ails" us (love of God/Country/Constitution), by convincing us we will be better people if we become his latte-liberal socialist lackeys.

Since a short while ago, we have been involved in collecting $60,000 for releasing a mother from prison. The convicted murderer of her 74-year-old husband, the 32-year-old Akram Mahdavi, is on the death row because she does not have the financial privilege to pay off the requested ransom. She killed her husband after a second arranged marriage was forced upon her by her family. Women’s rights’ activists describe her case as a very typical example of arranged marriages of teenagers to old men (her first husband was forty years older than her). Akram has a 17-year-old daughter from her first marriage

Would like details of the crime and the surrounding circumstances. IMO the mere fact that this was a forced marriage does not justify murder. They also have this insane "ransom" concept where a criminal can buy their way out of a sentence, even a death sentence, by paying blood money. If she killed her husband in self defence or if she was legally insane, then that's fine with me - otherwise, she should have her death sentence commuted to a few years in jail.

Someone said earlier that Barry's comments were not as bad in context.
In context it is just a little lipstick on a pig.
What he said is snarky & self serving.
He is saying that due to economic conditions, small town Americans are superstitiously religious, racist, xenophobic, gun nuts.
He then implies redemption by, Ta da! Barry Obama.
It is difficult to suffer a dishonest, egotist with a messianic complex.

378 x-ray  Sat, Apr 12, 2008 7:26:34am

The reason Obama and the rest of the elite (both R&D) don't care about illegal immigration is seen in that speech.
They have the same opinion of us poor rubes. We are all just ignorant pets trained to do their bidding and if we do not show the proper appreciation when thrown a bone they dismiss it as petulance.

I'll get back to you on that when HE answers me. (;

HE is steadfast. He does not follow orders from us. WE must LISTEN for His voice.

He ALWAYS answers prayer requests - sometimes the answer is "no", sometimes it's "maybe later", sometimes it's "yes".

The whole point in the phrase "...we ask in Jesus' name..." is knowing/accepting that the answer will be what the Trinity knows to be best for us - not necessarily what we want.

One thing's for sure: no prayer is ever answered with God saying, "Yeah, whatever".

Such situations are tantamount to slavery and repeated rape, with physical violence common. Given what I know of Iran and these types of cases, I'd bet in the US a justifiable homicide defense would work. As to the rest, Iran doesn't have a legal system, it has good-ole-mullah can be bought system.

All the policies he suggest have been proved to fail,i.e. Carter years.
Hillary's policies are basically the same, so that leaves his personality.
How pathetic is some one that looks to government, much less the President to give them a sense of meaning.
Voting for some one to build self esteems?
If he is our next President, we may be in for more trouble than just his socialism.
If that many people buy the brand of government he is selling, it is them that scare me as much as BHO.
