Zombie: Audio of Obama's Elitist Remarks

Sun, Apr 13, 2008 at 8:43:12 am PDT

Zombie has a decent quality audio file of Barack Obama’s “gun-toting Bible-thumping hicks” statement: Obama’s “bitter small-town Americans” speech at Getty fundraiser: good, clear audio file now available here!

It isn’t getting a lot of attention, but also note that Obama was putting down small-town Americans in front of an audience of upper crust “progressive” wealthy people. He was preaching to the choir in the language he thought they would understand.

Zombie’s accurate transcription:

You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, a lot of them — like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they’ve gone through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, and they cling to guns, or religion, or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment, or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

It is not surprising when an aspiring politician turns to garden variety Socialism as a substitute for meaningful economic reform. This man has all the answers. Take money from some people and give it to others. What a genius. I am sure that thought has never occurred to anyone before in the entire history of the human race.

So is it to late to call him "Two Face" because he certainly is not Janus? What I find frustrating is for all their talk about tolerance, diversity, and multi-culture they, the Left, are the worst hypocrites about understanding opposing views. The second they're done fooling the masses and within their ivory towers they take off their masks and laugh at the very people they are trying to woo into voting for them into office. I guess "F*** Middle America" is not just a sign but policy.

Gullible people will fall for Obama just like they fell for sub prime loans. Obama and sub prime loans both sound good in the beginning but eventually bring a world of pain. The same gullible people will say they were not made aware of the fine print re: Obama when the reality of what Obama really is inevitable hits them in the face like a shovel. On the bright side, the "ignorant, little people" who foolishly love their freedom, religion and guns will see through the Obama charade long before the progressives will.

God-Damned Senator Obama thinks that Conservatism can be explained away through sufficient deconstruction. This is more of the leftist "Conservatism as Pathology" pap that has been increasingly an explicit belief of those on the left. Stand by for medication and incarceration for holding sufficiently conservative positions. We already have mandatory re-education programs.

You go into some of these big cities in California, a lot of them — like a lot of big coastal cities, socialism hasn't worked now for over 25 years and nothing’s replaced it. And they’ve gone through the Carter administration, and the Clinton administration, and each successive Democratic administration has said that somehow socialism is gonna regenerate and it has not. So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, and they cling to pacifism, or environmentalism, or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them, or anti-white sentiment, or anti-American sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

I don't think the Dems understand this fundamental principle: Bush didn't win in 2000 or 2004 by people voting for him. They lost because many people voted against Gore & Kerry. McCain will win handily come November for this same reason. Are they that out of touch, or are they deliberately trying to lose? It's beyond parody.

Depending on which economist you ask, a 5.1% unemployment rate is within the range that indicates statistical full employment. Which means, like Nevergiveup (ever so cynically but accurately) said, crushing recession if a Republican is in the White House, economic gangbusters if a Democrat is in the White House.

58 engrpat  Sun, Apr 13, 2008 9:05:35am

It is interesting to note that Obama's theme is "anger"...and his wife does look kinda "angry"...his pastor looks kinda "angry" and I think he projected those "anger" onto the middle America that did not vote his way....because they were "angry" thus they were holding onto guns and religion and so forth...

Hmmm

So the "Change" he is prescribing is everyone to vote for him and then be "angry" no more? That everyone follow his ways and they will be not "angry" anymore? Ah, but I think his prescription would cause MORE "anger" than any president in history, including our venerable President Bush, who everyone seems to be angry with, and blames him for everything, including that he caused hurricane Katrina!

Well, looking at the Clinton administration, he brought down employment AT THAT TIME to the lowest point in 30 years, to the 5%-ish figure. He also created more jobs than any president before him, 22 million jobs. Brought the deficit of $290 billion to a surplus of about $230 billion. It was an economically prosperous time.

It's amazing - when these leftists speak their mind, it's called a "gaffe", a "mistake" or "taken out of context".

I'd far prefer that they keep revealing their innermost thought processes - telling us what they REALLY think deep down inside. Every time they do, it just drives another nail in their political coffins.

While McCain wasn't my first choice (Pat Buchanon wasn't running), he's FAR less scary than the elitist left.

Sorry--no patience for Pat Buchanan. There's a reason he's not running. Republicans have no room in the tent for that POS. The largest difference between Republicans and Democrats today is that the Republican Party knows how to take out the garbage. The rest flows from there. No David Duke, no Pat Buchanan.

98 Nevergiveup  Sun, Apr 13, 2008 9:27:12am

It is kinda funny that Obama blames the economy of the last 25 years on how rural people in small town PA act. I spend many summers in small town rural PA over 40 years ago. Back then the populace of those areas were gun toting, bible thumping, toothless, and I might say seemingly content bumpkins. I describe it this way not as an insult or with any derision. Just don't want Obama making up facts to fit his peculiar brand of socialistic mambo jumbo.

I keep trying to figure out what is wrong with these remarks, and here's what I get. Twenty years ago, those comments made some sort of sense in regard to the "rust belt" phenomenon of closed steel plants and manufacture moving to Mexico (pre-China). Obambi just added a bit of socioeconomics as a cherry on top, would have been totally unremarkable - twenty years ago. Today, this is seen as elitist? Good grief? And who is the leading cheerleader for calling it elitist - Hildabeast Antoinette Rodham-Clinton? Pu-lease.
I just listened to the Sunday morning talking heads of both parties, almost all calling it elitist. It's NOT. It's expressing some concern for what should be the heart of the democratic party. So why all this noise?
Because - the rust belt settled into a new mode ten years ago. It's not like the old days, but it's OK. Obambi is just behind the times. And the democrats don't want to talk about the middle class, THEY are the real elitists, sucking up to billionaires, always have been the technocrats and the condescending academic elites. And, to the Farakan wing of the party, talking about the rust belt - well, it isn't so much them, apparently, or those today don't recall it that way. They'd rather listen to Rev. Wright.
OK, Obambi was being sanctimonious about God and guns in order to ingratiate himself to an audience that pretends to know neither, but the comments of themselves are mostly harmless, I think. What is wrong is that it shows Obambi out of touch, spouting obsolete talking points, in an obsolete style. And a little infelicitious wording, I suppose.

Missing from the MSM commentary is that Obama reveals himself as an abject liar practicing "old politics" by painting "anti-free trade" as being a bitter reaction for these people.

Wasn't Obama talking about repealing / renegotiating NAFTA when he was campaigning in Ohio? And wasn't one of his advisers caught telling Canadians to "never mind" the NAFTA talk - Obama was just doing what he needed to do to get elected?

At the time Obama distanced himself from the advisor's admission of duplicity using Obama's patented double speak which "progressives" find so alluring. It won't hold with the rest of the country.

Obama is going to have a very hard summer and a disappointing fall.

Is Mr. Obama aware that precisely what he is talking about can be found in the depopulating regions of Europe?

The Guardian:

Last month alone, three prominent cases hit the headlines. In mid-February a 22-year old woman from the east German town of Lübben in Brandenburg admitted drowning her newborn baby in the bath. She told investigators she had not wanted the child and had felt overwhelmed by the responsibility of motherhood.

In the town of Frankfurt an der Oder, on the Polish border, parents aged 19 and 21 are under investigation for murdering their six-month-old son, Florian, by deliberately starving him to death. In another case a mother in the town of Nauen, near Potsdam, is in custody after admitting wrapping her crying baby in a plastic bag and hiding it in a cupboard until it stopped breathing.

There has been a string of other similar killings. The most shocking concerns 40-year-old Sabine Hilschenz, a dental assistant from Brieskow-Finkenheerd, close to the Polish border, who was convicted of murder after admitting letting eight of her newborn babies die and drowning one in the toilet.

Obama knows his audience. Here's an Obama supporter, commenting at theatlantic, wondering what's the big deal, and feeling superior to an invented rural person:

"So this is what our political discourse has come to: While the Earth is heating up like a poaching egg, and billions of people are starving, slaughtering one another and fooling around with nuclear weapons, Marc Ambinder is hyperventilating over the possibility that a presidential candidate said something that could possibly be construed as condescending to people in small towns in Pennsylvania. The alternative candidates are (a) a senile right-wing maniac who wants to bomb foreign countries for spite and (b) a pair of corrupt narcissists no longer able to distinguish between truth and fantasy, collecting zillions of dollars to promote the interests of anyone who pays enough. I'm glad you can see through all this, Marc, to home in on the really, really important question: a possible slight to the sensibilities of Edna in Upper Turkeyfoot.

My beef with Obama's statement is his lack of knowledge of history in this regard.

And p.s. it's all over the news shows this Sunday morning.

Yah, I was in the army at that time. He said he was "downsizing" the government. what he was doing was downsizing the military, the intelligence gathering capabilities of the U.S. not too long after that, some religious yahoos flew a couple of airliners into the twin towers. we didn't see it coming because he gutted our intelligence gathering abilities.

As for Obama, for a black man with a racist pastor, its plain to see that he too stereotypes people...and like his pastor, he is vocal about it.
The largest failing that politicians have is that they think we're actually not paying attention to their shenanigans. Kind of like when Bush wanted to ram amnesty for illegals down the taxpayers' throats. That should have been their wake up call...its time to clean house, and get our government back!

AOL has been running with Obama's statements as it's top story of the day with a poll. The word is getting out.
Here's the poll as it stands right now - and their polling is usually very liberal.

What do you think of Obama's choice of words?
They were ill chosen 61%
I don't have a problem with them 39%

Total Votes: 333,280

Do you think he's "elitist and out of touch"?
Yes 60%
No 40%

Total Votes: 326,764

173 forrest  Sun, Apr 13, 2008 9:54:33am

This story is getting attention here in PA, and it will likely end pretty badly for Obama - unless he gets 1,000,000 votes from a population of 870,000 in Philadelphia - which is quite possible.

An Obama campaigner came to my door yesterday and I mentioned the remarks. He told me "I needed to understand the context" of Obama's remarks. I told him the context was that he was telling a bunch of millionaires in San Francisco that we're rednecks.

I gotta give the campaigner some credit though. He drove all the way up from Ann Arundle county, MD in his BMW convertible to knock on the doors of us ignorant hicks who had just been insulted by his guy. It takes commitment to do that.

It is not surprising when an aspiring politician turns to garden variety Socialism as a substitute for meaningful economic reform. This man has all the answers. Take money from some people and give it to others. What a genius. I am sure that thought has never occurred to anyone before in the entire history of the human race.

Actually I think this sort of behavior goes back to the stone age.

Perhaps it is time to coin a new term for this kind of behavior.

Karlism obviously refers to Karl Marx but the name Karl when anglicized is Charles, the name of two English Kings who believed that they were divinely ordained to rule over those who were deemed to be lesser beings and thus has to be removed from the throne.

And 350 horsepower under the hood to make a quick exit if needed?

Here's the poll as it stands right now - and their polling is usually very liberal.

What do you think of Obama's choice of words?
They were ill chosen 61%
I don't have a problem with them 39%

Total Votes: 333,280

Do you think he's "elitist and out of touch"?
Yes 60%
No 40%

Not quite. Charles I was removed from the throne and executed - but more for being a complete idiot than because he believed in the Divine Right of Kings.

Obama has identified a problem (which, I assume, his administration has a solution for). How is his administration going to replace those jobs, to comfort these people so they don't cling to guns, religion and racism?

Money Talk

Bob Brinker, respected host of this long running radio program (20+ years), breaks down Obama's tax proposal for eliminating cap on Social Security, and creating "doughnut protection" for earners south of $200k per annum.

For earners above that cutoff, the top marginal tax rates are:

NEW YORK: 64%
CALIFORNIA: 62%

Which means that on the margin -- at $200,001 AGI -- for every dollar over the cutoff, you pay about 2/3 of that dollar to the IRS.

Brinker, in the financial advisory business for over 4 decades, says this is "the most stunning and ill-conceived tax proposal" he has EVER seen...

One thing that would be helpful, is to dissect the actual proposals put on the table by Obama, because they are disastrous (in addition to his elitist posturing).

Call it oligarchic demagogy. That's what it amounts to: a small, rich strata trying to gain oligarchic control through the manipulation of the crowd.

Remember what John Adams noted: The Republic will last only so long as it takes for the people to discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public purse.

That's what this fight comes down to. Some people seem - probably because they haven't thought it through - to be ready to trade their rights as citizens for money taken from those they perceive as having "too much."

re: #151 towerclimber37

I don't know if you mean to say you're blaming Clinton for 9/11 and I know some people have, but I think it's unfair. Reagan praised the mujahdeen as freedom fighters and armed them in Afghanistan so how far back you want to go? Clinton chased Bin Laden all over. Bush didn't find him either. Bush's Middle East policies with regard to the Arabs and Israel aren't any better than Clinton's, in fact, I find them much worse. He's the only president to call for a 2 state solution, the millions he wants to give Abbas (with no method of repayment) and bypassing the first clause of the road map, for Arabs to stop the violence before anything else is done, tops my list.

The point to my post is that we lived in a time of economic prosperity during the Clinton years which Obama lied about. The increase in jobs, unemployment and inflation at a 30 year low, more people owned homes during his administration than any other, none of that has to do with downsizing our defense.

I do agree with you that Obama was pandering to a wealthy California crowd.

Bill Clinton was an Economic dunce. Confusing productivity with waqe increases, taxes with income, prices with cost, etc. He was influenced by a GOP House and good Treasurer. Bush knows economics. His desire to suppress wages (cost of production) by an open border policy is unfortunate and has many societal costs he refuse to acknowledge. All three of the current candidates are idiots. The Dems have made it clear they neither understand economics and do not care. For them the deconstruction of America, starting with capitalism is what is important. McCain has stated he does not understand economics and it clear he is being manipulated by some big corporations. Nevertheless, I expect to see a competent team emerge that can advise him intelligently.

re: #229 The Other Les

Still, my point is that I think we need a new term for this brand of elitist attitude problem.

Fascism will do nicely.

Whether it's for technocratic, or moral, or selfish, or theocratic reasons, the idea that certain individuals should rule others, against their wishes, is basically fascism. It doesn't have to be nasty, it can be a *benevolent* despotism, but it's top down and coercive. Communism is too often like that, but in theory, it's something else. Make it by class instead of individuals, and you get Marxism.

Ths is all after a recent reading of Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism", but these are my definitions, he never quite gets around to giving one, at least not so concisely. And Goldberg tends to look in other directions, perhaps validly, perhaps not, for the core ideas of fascism. Well, the very name refers to the binding together for strength, "we're stronger together, labor and capital and government", the original "third way" between left and right, if you listen to them. Yesss, but it's very hard to distinguish left from right from middle, on a lot of those issues, other than demonizing your opponents.

When the mujahdeen started out they were freedom fighters opposing Russia. When we failed to support them and threw them to the wolves, things changed.
Clinton did not chase bin Laden all over. He only used OBL when he needed to distract the press from his various scandals. his actions in Somalia emboldened the muslim terror organizations and convinced them we were a paper tiger afraid to fight.

What's more important is who was recording him. Pardon my French. I'd rather Obama any day than this twisted fantasist. ...assuming that was the only choice.

And as for her bit about her grandfather working in a lace mill in Scranton at the age of 11 - fact check needed stat. Watch this space for more about Hillary's grandad when no doubt we'll hear about how he circumnavigated the globe in a bathtub, beat Kaiser Wilhelm in a game of conkers thus bringing WW1 to a speedy conclusion, or how he once wrestled a tiger and punched it's lights out before going on to discover X-rays and invent cornflakes.

There is a whole lot of clinging going on in this Nation.

A clinging to a false belief that the political messiah who will correct what is wrong with (fill in you favorite grievance)... is a young charismatic glib Black man who has no actual experience fixing anything. But does have ready excuses for why he did not hear when he should have heard, and had not seen what he should have seen.

Vote for this political messiah, nothing will be fixed, much will be made worse, but the outcome will be that in the more difficult times that will be certain, even suffering elitists in San Francisco may look for salvation in guns and religion.

I really think this is the moment when you can stick a fork in Obama. He's done on any meaningful national level. Probably not just for 2008, but forever.

Huh? Iowa Electronic Markets participants do not think so. Other such markets don't think so either. The polls don't show it. Things to keep in mind:

(1) Hillary's snipergate fiasco has reminded everyone that either she simply cannot tell the difference between truth and fantasy, having lied so often and so well that she has now achieved that magic hat trick of deceiving herself, or, she imagines that she lies so well that she can at any rate deceive everybody else, 7/24. This doesn't finish her off, but it offsets and mutes the damage to Obama from PennsylvaniaHicksgate.

(2) Obama has a delegate lead. Barring blowout wins by Hillary, even in states that were leaning his way, she cannot catch up.

(3) Supposing that for reasons (1) and (2), he wins the nomination, he'll be running a general election campaign in the context of an unpopular war and a faltering economy. He'll be the Democrat. That's one hell of a tailwind. He can lose, but he'll have to shoot himself in both feet, emptying the magazine and reloading, to bring it off.

OT: Note in the article that indicates how Carter defended his visit with Hamas it said

WASHINGTON (AP) - Former President Carter said he feels "quite at ease" about meeting Hamas militants over the objections of Washington because the Palestinian group is essential to a future peace with Israel.

Carter, interviewed Saturday for ABC News'"This Week," airing Sunday, also said he would oppose a U.S. Olympic boycott and hopes all countries will join in the Beijing games.

He spoke from Katmandu, Nepal, where his team of observers from the Carter Center monitored an election that appeared likely to transform rule by royal dynasty into a democracy with former Maoist rebels in a strong position, judging by incomplete returns.

WHAT!?

Former maoists rebels ruling Nepal and he is personally monitoring that?

331 Arbalest  Sun, Apr 13, 2008 11:02:23am

Recall that, from the Huff Po piece yesterday about Barak Hussein Obama in Pennsylvania, the trip was his first time through (rural) Pennsylvania, and the article states that he had no familiarity with the people.

The Huff Po piece, then, puts Barak Hussein Obama’s conclusions about Pennsylvanians in a clear light:

So it’s not surprising then that they get bitter, and they cling to guns, or religion, or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them, or anti-immigrant sentiment, or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

Note how BHO, a man who claims to be a devout Christian, subtly denigrates religion: “and they cling to guns, or religion. . .”.

Isn’t religion supposed to be a source of strength in times of hardship and trial?

It looks like Barry’s faith isn’t what he says it is. The mask slips.

Barak Hussein Obama’s words are pseudo-intellectual crap, and are said in that tone.

It sounds like a somewhat more articulate version of Wright’s nonsense, although BHO probably could’ve said it better if he had been reading off a teleprompter.

It’s important to not let these things go. Once forgotten, they will be regarded as “settled”, “over”; resurrecting them will be tough. Keeping them alive is important.

BHO can be backed into a corner and forced to recant (and exposed as a poser? fraud? political-machine-stooge?), or, more likely, forced to make another “so?” defense (just like when he couldn’t abandon Wright anymore than he could his grandmother, who he then abandoned).

BHO has enough trouble publicly dealing with pressure and counter-arguments; but recantations hurt him severely.

Former maoists rebels ruling Nepal and he is personally monitoring that?

Yup.

Those rebels were funded and supplied for decades by the Chinese government in Beijing. Without that backing, they'd be a tiny powerless group (and deservedly so). They're not even a "native uprising," just tool of the communist Chinese who want to widen their sphere of influence.

Carter is a fool of the first order.

Obambi's making it a causal link is silly and actively offends conservatives, but tell me just why Hillarious democrats (and, say, the MSM) can get a bad reading out of this?

I'd say that even Obambi didn't mean that, if everyone had a great job, they'd give up religion and guns and racism and voting Republican, but that is sort of how it came out. But what's ironic is that is pretty much exacty what Hillary *does* believe.

People do turn to religion more in times of economic hardship. It's just an obvious fact. Oh, I know, it's not the only reason people turn to religion but really, this is mild condescension at most. There really is nothing to see here. What's more important is who was recording him. Pardon my French. I'd rather Obama any day than this twisted fantasist. ...assuming that was the only choice.

But otherwise, whenever I have not gotten a job or when I have lost a job, I have never thought to myself that the government is somehow complicit. But, even more, I have never thought that the government will make everything better. I just don't give the government that much credit.

And, the Kos Kid from one of the threads below who said he was bitter: time to get off your ass, off your computer and make your own opportunities. If you think Barack Obama is going to make it all better, then you might as well vote for McCain because Barack has as much control over you getting over your bitterness as anyone else does. At least McCain will tell you the truth. You are the only one who can help you. no, it's not funny; it's how they are. they are the quintessential bully. they attack the weakest and work their way up. they follow whatever is the strongest horse at the time. they have no principles of their own - just brute strength/force/aggression.

re: #385 baldylox,

Baldilocks is a major blogger named Juliette. Someone I'd call a friend. She used to post over here, but hasn't for a while. Given the nic similarities, I'd hoped you were her.

My appologies.

re: #400 opnion

Isn’t religion supposed to be a source of strength in times of hardship and trial?

It looks like Barry’s faith isn’t what he says it is. The mask slips.

For that you get an up.
Democrat Christianity seems too often to involve denigrating God.

For far left elitists like Obama, Christianity is an opiate that keeps people from becoming their true selves "Global Citizens"
I do not believe that Barry has an ounce of loyalty to this country.
No hand on the heart for the pledge, no flag lapel pin, you know because they are vulgar displays..
I believe that Barry thinks that we should be punished & reeducated.

The christian concept of grace, and graciousness, is that God has blessed us far beyond what we have earned - and it is our job to show graciousness to others in away that won't cripple them. Christianity is the oxygen of the masses.

Not only can the Government not protect anyone from a specific crime, but is under no obligation to. Two Supreme Court cases have absolved Government of any responsibility to provide protection to citizens.

having grown up in south central, don't i know that!

police leave when the riots get out of hand. because they can.

I think that for me, if I had to chose a Democrat it would be the one who actually said what he believed rather than the brazen liar who will just say whatever she thinks people want to hear to get her elected (but who actually thinks EXACTLY the same as the former).

I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator.
Barack Obama - 'Time' magazine June 2005.

John Kerry believes in an America where hard work is rewarded.
Barack Obama - Keynote speech to Democratic National Convention, July 2004.

No one is pro-abortion.

Barack Obama

You would vote for someone who actually said and believed these things?

Which explains why we are the first to help in times of trouble, even when it is things like the earth quake in Qum Iran.

Did you see your Pajamas Media page on San Francisco's torch that one guy replied to me saying that Tibet is autonomous because it is called Autonomous Region of Tibet? I replied back that calling something is not the same thing as being one...

Yeah, it seems like, near the end of the thread, the Chinese government propagandists stormed aboard the comments section, and started posting these 20,000 word-long screeds about how wonderful Chiense is and how evil the west is.

They posed as "average" Chinese westerners, but it was patently obvious they were government shills.

Amazing how they couldn't tell how transparent they were.

hi DT. after pops funeral, i had pneumonia and bronchitis. when i went back to work in February, the leg started to swell but it's good. no pain really.

Christianity is not something I "cling" to - it is something I practice, and embrace - I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Makes me wonder how much Obama even understands about Christianity with Wright as his mentor. His is not a Christianity that I recognize.

Thanks for the vote. I thought it necessary to point out the sudden and undetected change in Barak Hussein Obama’s attitude towards religion

Until now, BHO has been seen to be a serious Christian.

Now, in a moment of unguarded honesty, he shows how much he values religion (in context, Christianity).

Religion (in context, Christianity) is for people who are bitter, and from the context of his words, not highly educated, unemployed and possibly unemployable, and who simply give up and blame others, rather than man-up and do something about their situation.

Religion (in context, Christianity) is not really suitable (doctrinaire?) for us; it is only for the simple and weak.

Are these the values Wright, his friend and mentor of 20years, taught him?

What's next? Do we find out that BHO's claimed desire to provide his children with a stable home is not suitable for the rest of us ?

It's also a Christian concept that we reap what we sow- which is the same as the Hindu and Buddhist concept of Karma.

I was being facetious with the term 'funny'. I know exactly what you mean.

Take Islam out of these people and things would be 10000% better.

oh. sorry.

yes, getting rid of their satanic influences would be a great start. but, i think it would take generations to eliminate the hate.

I dunno, I've gone back and forth on these two. I'm actually still registered democratic, and in the California primary voted for ... Edwards. Purely on the math, to reduce (ha!) the percentages for both Obambi and Hilda, not that I think Silky Pony is any better.
