Obama is a long way from sunk. He still could be President come next January. Such is the number of adherents, and their refusal to be swayed. And on that note, I am off for a hike with a slobbering dog.

Get a load of this:

I've been posting stuff about Nadhmi Auchi and Barack Obama all weekend, and it's finally come up in the Rezko trial.

Obama linked to 2004 party at Rezko's home

Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama's name came up again at the Antoin "Tony" Rezko corruption trial and in a way that earlier filings in the case did not telegraph.

Stuart Levine, the prosecution's star witness, said he and Obama were at a party Rezko threw at his Wilmette mansion on April 3, 2004, for Nadhmi Auchi, a controversial Iraqi-born billionaire who Rezko was trying to get to invest in a South Loop real-estate development.

Auchi, now a citizen of the United Kingdom, has faced criminal charges in Europe. He also figured in the revocation of Rezko's bond early this year after attempting to wire him more than $3 million. Upon learning of that attempt, U.S. District Judge Amy St. Eve declared Rezko a flight risk and ordered him held in a federal jail in the Loop.

The Rezko party in 2004 was designed to induce Auchi to pour money into the South Loop investment. Obama's presence at the party was not previously known. At the time, Obama was fresh off a surprise win in the Illinois Democratic primary for U.S. Senate and was riding a crest of national publicity.

This could be really bad news for Barry.

BTW Big oil makes an obscene 10 cents or so profit per gallon while in WA combined State and Federal tax is around 60 cents a gallon. Since people are driving less with the high cost and better average economy vehicles, gas tax revenues are down. They're talking tolls to regain the lost revenue.

From the SunTimes blog:

When Tony Rezko held a reception at his home for Iraqi-born billionaire Nadhmi Auchi on April 3, 2004, White House hopeful Barack Obama and his wife were also there, Stuart Levine testified just now at Rezko's trial.

Auchi is the man who provided Rezko a $3.5 million loan that Rezko did not disclose to the court -- resulting in his January arrest.
"Mr. and Mrs. Obama were there, were they not?" Rezko lawyer Joseph Duffy asked.
"Yes, sir," Levine said.

Obama and his aides have said Obama has no recollection of ever meeting Auchi.

Obamamania Extends Beyond U.S. Borders

Recently, Al Jazeera reported on a group of young Palestinians in the Gaza Strip who took it upon themselves to get together and randomly cold-call Americans in the U.S., encouraging them to vote for Obama. In an interview on the English version of the Arabic news network, 23-year-old coordinator Abu Juyyab told the reporter that hearing Obama speak won him over.

“I thought, this was a man who is capable of change outside of America. ... I think he can also bring peace to the area — at least that this is what we hope,” Abu Juyyab said through an interpreter. Since January, he and 17 friends have called Americans randomly via the Internet before each primary. ...

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama, who has come under attack by his presidential rivals for describing small-town voters as "bitter," seems to be weathering the storm to this point as far as voters are concerned. He maintains a 10 percentage point lead over Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination, 50% to 40%, according to the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking.

Force BHO out now, lots of damage looks bad to force out the front runner for the insider Clinton machine.

Force out HRC, some damage hope to repair by Denver. Party unity, need to focus on McCain, HRC is behind can't catch up, time to move beyond Bush / Clinton / Bush / ....

All fight at the convention worst case for the (D) which every side wins core supports of the other side walk. Lots of folks turned off they loose another block, and McCain wins big.

Rasmussen claims Obama's numbers haven't changed....
Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

I still believe despite everything Obama will probably win, the Presidency I mean. He's the perfect down-with-us candidate and the down-with-us forces are strong. Electing Obama will make the world like Americans again, take away the root causes of war and poverty and restore the cosmic balance.

Washington?....My Senators are Kennedy and Kerry BOTH OF THEM!
Try living with that! We would do better with the cast of Hee Haw than those two. And on top of it, Kerry is always trying to talk down the cost of any bill he gets,,,parking, dinner... and Kennedy just does not pay vendors. No local will do business with them any more.

Anyone else find it very interesting that Obama may have gotten foreign funding via Rezko?

I had assumed that right along. I think a huge chunk of his funding is coming from overseas. Note that anyone from anywhere in the world can go to his website and donate up to $200, which Barry does not have to track and does not have to report.

Actually, the most embittered people I know are well-off white liberals. They also cling to their non-god-based belief system with a tenacious faith that would put many church- or synagogue-goers to shame.

isn't there a GK CHestertonm quote from in that soup you describe there? someting like "those who believe in nothing, will believe in anything.." something like that?

After listening to Barack Obama's various "Elitist" statements and reading excerpts from his books and listening to the teachings of hie spiritual leader, I've concluded that Barack Obama is either a racist-bigoted-socialist or a very forgetful-disconnected-doofuss. Either way, he is not qualified to be President of the United States of America.

NObama!

I saw the adulatory profile of Chris Mathews in yesterday's New York Times Magazine.

Fortunately, I was on a plane, so an airsickness bag was ready to hand.

Chris Matthews' legs get tingly thinking of going to Damascus, where many Dems have gone before, to meet HAMAS & Saddam remnants.

Really? It wasn't just a plain ol' Webley revolver?

It's referred to as a Webley-Fosbery automatic revolver. "They don't make 'em anymore," says Sam Spade to Tom Polhaus. Spade (in the novel, set in 1929) tells Polhaus he'd seen Webley-Fosberys in England during "the war," i.e., WWI.

re: #75 galloping granny

I've got to tell you, Barry seems to have a really LOUSY memory for someone who claims to be so superior and brilliant and all that. And yet he cannot remember who he has met? Not much of a schmoozer, is he? Or is it that he is lying through his teeth?

That's been well established that he seems to either have a lousy memory or he lies through his teeth. I suspect the latter since Levine is under oath, and Obama has been known not to tell the truth in the past.

I'm just trying to get the conenctions between the Iraqi-born Auchi and Obama out in the open. Auchi was a supporter of Saddam Hussein's regime. He made quite a bit of money selling weapons to Saddam. Auchi was also involved in an assassination attempt (with Saddam) on the Iraqi president back in 1959.

Automatic Revolver

I was told by a collector who had one, you need a very stiff arm for it work properly. Otherwise the recoil wouldn't complete cycling the cylinder.

Why don't you go ask JESUS if the Graf Spee is still here? Eh? See what JESUS has to say on the subject. Or maybe there's some info on the subject printed on the inside of your Red Man chewing tobacco pouch.

Nosh on a chivito, a bistec and wash it down with a Norteno. (I also know where the cathouse is near Artigas square).
