Abbas Revokes Awards to Terrorists

Thu, Apr 17, 2008 at 10:48:17 am PDT

Change! Abbas: Awards to terrorists have been revoked.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas confirmed that plans to present two female Palestinian terrorists with a medal of honor have been withdrawn.

Abbas informed Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik of the decision in a telephone call from Moscow late Wednesday.

The Al Kuds Mark of Honor, the PLO’s highest medal, was meant be given in a ceremony Thursday to two female terrorists who helped kill Israelis.

Abbas informed Itzik that the awards to the two terrorists, as well as to other Palestinians imprisoned in Israel, had been revoked.

When news of the list came out, Likud MK Gideon Sa'ar said the report was "troubling and severe" news, but added that if the report were true, it would continue a recent history of doublespeak from Abbas, which, Sa'ar said, presented different Palestinian intentions and narratives when speaking to Arab crowds and when addressing Western diplomats.

Yes, it is quite possible an Israeli tank shell killed the Reuters cameraman. However, why were the Israelis firing in his general direction. That's the part not captured on his video or screen caps. Was he traveling with a bunch of Hamas thugs who were ready to take potshots at the Israelis and the Israelis fired first? Was he working with Hamas spotters who were calling out Israeli targets and the Israelis fired in return?

We wont know for sure because the Palestinians wouldn't want to admit that they're putting journalists in the firing line - among other reasons. That, and the Israelis may have to clear video with their censors showing what went down.

This is telling.

Journalists have become casualties on numerous occasions in the Palestinian territories. Media watchdogs estimate that nine have been killed in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since 2000.

An Israeli soldier shot a Reuters photographer in the leg in Gaza in October. Two Reuters journalists were wounded by an Israeli tank shell in the enclave in 2003.

Also in 2003, one of the most widely renowned Palestinian journalists to work for Reuters, television cameraman Mazen Dana, was shot dead by a U.S. soldier in Baghdad. Six other Reuters journalists have been killed in that conflict.

The same people who had to get emergency therapy after Kerry lost, remember them?

More on dejected Kerry voters going to psychotherapists:

The L.A. Times has a story (thanks to Cathy Seipp for the pointer, and for the amusing link to the movie The Grudge). My favorite line from the L.A. Times story comes from psychologist Alan Hilfer:

"They're allowed to be angry. They're allowed to be frustrated . . .," said Hilfer. "And they should talk about it. But they need now to move on."

That's the advice many liberals would likely give to conservative friends who were complaining about "feeling helpless and paralyzed and sad" -- or traumatized, depressed, and so on -- because of a Democratic victory (and, yes, such Democratic victories have been known to happen in the past, and I'm sure they'll happen again). It seems to me that it ought to work equally well for liberals.

The whole idea of this non-country handing out medals as if it was a legitimate and recognized nation is laughable enough, and the originally proposed recipients in this case make it hysterically obscene.

Let's face it, even if a medal was given out by the "President of Palestine" to some decent and nice people , it's tantamount to me receiving the monthly "Best yard" award from my local HOA.

I got the Kuwaiti Meddle of Freedom during DS. As much money as they've got, those bastards sent us recipients some shit made of pot metal. I let my little nephew have it....

Have you all looked at The Laundry List of Obama's Lies? Way down the bottom, I found this -

Much more so than we might believe.
1. Reports emanating from Africa allege his mother was in Kenya with his ARAB Kenyan (NOT Black Kenyan) father - this is clearly shown in Kenyan Govt. Registry documents which list the father as an Arab Kenyan - at a very late term of her pregnancy and was not allowed on a flight to return to HAWAII.

She gave birth to him in Kenya, immediately got on a plane and then registered him as being born in Hawaii.

If this is true, then Obama is not eligible to be the President of the United States!

Yup, you can use coumadin. It is the blood thinner taken for a time after hip or knee repacement, or any procedure that forces you to be immobile for a time.
It helps to avoid clots that can migrate to your heart. On the down side if you cut yourself the bleedintg is brutal.

I'm not saying the IDF shouldn't use them; just that I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of them.

For those unfamiliar with them, flechettes are basically darts used in a bomb or artillery shell, as an anti-infantry or anti-personnel weapon. They will definitely ruin your day.

A "natural born citizen" is one who is born to two US citizens within the limits of the US &/or US territories. So, someone born in the Panama Canal Zone on a military base - like McCain - is natural born because that was US territory at the time.

Someone who is born overseas on a US installation but NOT within the confines of a US territory - like someone born at Ramstein Air Base or an embassy - is a naturalized at birth citizen, not a natural born citizen. These people are not eligible for the Presidency.

Someone born overseas but not in a US territory or at a US facility - someone born in Frankfurt at the local hospital for example - is a dual citizen. At the time Obama was born those children had to choose which country they wished to claim citizenship from at age 18. That has changed for younger people but it is not retroactive. These people are not eligible for the Presidency.

Interesting Response by Axelrod.

Chicago, IL - Obama Camp 'flattered' By Hamas Compliment
Chicago, IL - Barack Obama's campaign said yesterday it is "flattered" that Hamas' endorsement of the Illinois senator compared him to John F. Kennedy, though it objects to any diplomatic contact with the terrorist group.

"I like John Kennedy too," said chief Obama strategist David Axelrod. "That's about the only thing we have in common with this gentleman from Hamas. We all agree that John Kennedy was a great president, and it's flattering when anybody says that Barack Obama would follow in his footsteps."

Axelrod was reacting to comments earlier this week from Ahmed Yousuf, Hamas' top political adviser in the Gaza Strip, who said Hamas "hopes" Obama will win the presidential elections and "change" America's foreign policy.[WND]

The honoring of terrorists by Abbas is not supposed to be done when anyone from the West is watching or is aware of what is happening. It won't be permanently canceled, but will be rescheduled for a time and place when the West is not looking. This man Abbas speaks with a forked tongue, honoring terrorists when he speaks in Arabic and thinks that the West is not watching, and saying he wants peace when he speaks in English.
