Izzadeen Guilty of Inciting Terrorism in Britain

Thu, Apr 17, 2008 at 11:48:03 am PDT

A fanatic Islamic “preacher” who’s been the subject of numerous LGF posts, Abu Izzadeen (aka Trevor Brooks) has been convicted in Britain of inciting terrorism and faces a possible sentence of life in prison.

A Muslim preacher who barracked former Home Secretary John Reid faces life in jail after he was found guilty of calling on his followers to train to be terrorists and telling them to kill non-believers to get to heaven.

Abu Izzadeen, whose real name is Trevor Brooks, 32, led a group of Islamic radicals who stormed the moderate Regents Park Mosque in central London and then forced back police who tried to evict them.

Izzadeen was found guilty of incitement to terrorism abroad along with three of his associates, Abdul Rehman Saleem, also known as Abu Yahya, the convert Simon Keeler, also known as Suliman Keeler, and Ibrahim Abdullah Hassan.

Brooks, Keeler and two other men, Shah Jalal Hussain and Abdul Muhid were found guilty of collecting money for terrorists in Iraq. Hussain skipped bail while the jury were deliberating and is now on the run.

The group delivered a series of speeches from the middle of the mosque in November 2004, which coincided with a night of the Muslim festival of Ramadan known as the “Night of Power.”

They were found on a DVD lasting nearly five hours in which Brooks told his followers: “Allah will remove all the kufr [disbelief] from the earth, and how? With dua [prayers] or with some books? No my dear Muslim brothers with jihad for the sake of Allah...So we are terrorists, terrify the enemies of Allah.”

Brooks said anybody who sought “dignity outside of shariah [Islamic law]” would be “humiliated.”

In another speech, recorded two years later in Small Heath, Birmingham, Brooks asked his audience; “Are you ready for another 7/7?” Jonathan Laidlaw QC, prosecuting, said this time Brooks was trying not to break a new terrorism law, making it illegal to “glorify terrorism.”

But he said he had “clothed” his message in the words of Mohammed Siddique Khan, one of the July 7 bombers who left behind a videoed message.

He said he was telling them “listen, absorb and follow the words of a suicide bomber.” Brooks told his audience: “These people have made a clear statement: If you stop, you’ll be saved. If you don’t stop, we’re going to kill you indiscriminately. Now, you take the bus, you take the train? You could be the next target. You could be burned alive. You prepared to die?”

Meanwhile, in this country, we can't get a Florida jury focused enough to give a verdict on the 'Liberty City Seven'!

Mistrial in Florida domestic terrorism case
MIAMI (AFP) — A US federal judge on Wednesday declared a mistrial in case of six Florida men charged with plotting to blow up buildings with help from the Al-Qaeda terror network.

Prosecutors had asked for stiff prison sentences for the defendants known as the "Liberty City Seven" -- named after the poor, predominantly African-American Miami neighborhood where they live -- who were arrested in June 2006. [Link: afp.google.com...]

Can the judge order the jurors to take 'Focus Factor?'

Suicide bombing apologist campaigning for Ken Livingstone in mayoral election

A Palestinian apologist for suicide bombing is among the leaders of a group trying to win Muslim votes for Ken Livingstone in the London mayoral election.

Dr Azzam Tamimi, a supporter of Hamas which is dedicated to the destruction of Israel, is part of a group called Muslims 4 Ken which is aiming to mobilise hundreds of thousands of Muslim voters to help re-elect Mr Livingstone for a third term on May 1.

A website set up by the group vilifies Mr Livingstone's Conservative opponent Boris Johnson, portraying him as an Islamaphobe.

But of course they are.

Hannity is all over this like I was last night when I heard B. Hussein said it.

Barry has quite the assortment of names attached to him right now. Each one more terrible than the last from Tony Rezko to Nadhmi Auchi to Bill Ayres.

Sad, but true:

Critics of modern art will at least applaud the irony. The Tate Gallery has paid £22,300 of public money for a work that is, quite literally, a load of excrement.

The canned faeces of Piero Manzoni, one of Italy's most controversial artists, have been bought by the gallery from a sale at Sotheby's. [Link: www.telegraph.co.uk...]

The "mourning" in the Third Beatitude is in Luke (6:25) opposed to laughter and similar frivolous worldly joy. Motives of mourning are not to be drawn from the miseries of a life of poverty, abjection, and subjection, which are the very blessings of verse 3, but rather from those miseries from which the pious man is suffering in himself and in others, and most of all the tremendous might of evil throughout the world. To such mourners the Lord Jesus carries the comfort of the heavenly kingdom, "the consolation of Israel" (Luke 2:25) foretold by the prophets, and especially by the Book of Consolation of Isaias (11-16). Even the later Jews knew the Messiah by the name of Menahhem, Consoler. These three blessings, poverty, abjection, and subjection are a commendation of what nowadays are called the passive virtues: abstinence and endurace,

Pope resolution passes after "life" language removed

While Pope Benedict XVI's historic visit to Washington received wall to wall coverage, Sen. Barbara Boxer briefly held up a Senate resolution welcoming the pontiff because she objected to language about how the pope values "each and every human life."

The measure later cleared the Senate Thursday afternoon after the sponsor of the resolution, Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.), dropped the reference to "human life" because some Democrats saw it as a reference to abortion. According to Republican aides, Brownback, a devout Catholic, did not want a high profile fight over the resolution, which was adopted on a voice vote. In fact, Brownback blackberried his staff from the Pope's mass at Nationals Park to direct them to drop the references to human life.

That doesn't stop the gobsmacking nuttiness from shining through among those who approved of this craziness:

Art major Juan Castillo '08 said that although he was intrigued by the creativity and beauty of her senior project, not everyone was as thrilled as he was by the concept and the means by which she attained the result.

Creativity and beauty? From engaging in abortions repeatedly to procure whatever it was that she needed? Sick stuff.

ARRRGGHHH!

I've now wasted over two hours trying to upload a single godd*amn video to YouTube, to no avail!

Anybody have a clue as to what the problem might be, and/or how I can fix it?

Problem:
Only about 1 out of every 5 videos I upload to YouTube gets "processed" properly -- the other four get uploaded fine, but after being "processed," I get a message: FAILED. And no matter how many different ways and tricks of re-doing it, I get the same message.

What is NOT causing the problem:
Video is way under the 100mb limit.
Video is in an acceptable format (QuickTime).
Video works fine and is not corrupted.
Video has an innocuous name.
Video has an innocuous "description."
Video gets uploaded to YouTube servers successfully.

Tricks I have tried:
Re-editing the video from scratch so that it has a different file size, length, and name - -i.e. it's a whole different video.
Strating a new YouTube account and trying to upload it to that.
Unplugging my cable modem and replugging it back in.
Logging out from YouTube and logging back in.
Emptying my "browser cache" while logged out.
Giving it a completely different (and totally innocuous) name each time I upload.
Various combinations of the above techniques, simultaneously.

NONE of them have worked, even when I did them ALL for one attempt.

I've now tried to upload this video at least 12 times, with zero success. I'm back at square one after two solid precious hours of trying.

What in the world is causing this? Why does no one else report the problem?

Keep in mind that I can successfully upload YouTube videos on occasion -- it's just that once a video gets rejected, there seems to be no way to get it accepted in the future.

What's the cause? Theory: I think I'm on some sort of "frustrate list" whereby 1 out of every 5 videos I upload gets accepted as normal, and the other 4 get an inexplicable and baseless "Failed" message, which drives people bananas, and makes them go away in frustration. My suspicion is that it has somehting to do with a left-wing radio station up here (KPFA) getting mad that I scooped them on a Christopher Hitchens appearance, and so wrote a letter to YouTube falsely claiming I had violated their copyright to their video of him -- even though my video appeared online days before theirs. YouTube deleted my video, and ever since I've had these mysterious problems, which I think they purposely inflict on people who have a black mark on their account. Complaining about it to them only makes things worse.

But that doesn't explain the same thing happening to my alternate accounts.

Does anybody have a clue as to why this happens? Has it happened to anybody else? And is there any way to solve it?

Racial Preference Ballots go National

With race looming as a key issue in the fall elections—perhaps a pivotal one, assuming that Barack Obama is the Democratic nominee—diehard defenders of the racial status quo are going to unprecedented lengths to prevent voters from having their say on government-sponsored racial preferences. Leftist activists are lining up to fight four state ballot initiatives that, if passed on November 4, will outlaw preferential treatment based on race, gender, and national origin in public university admissions as well as government hiring and contracting. Knowing that such anti-preference initiatives enjoy strong public support—in fact, they have already passed overwhelmingly in three of the nation’s bluest states—the activists have zero interest in waging these fights on the merits. Rather, their goal is to keep the initiatives off the ballot by any means necessary, up to and including political chicanery and outright physical intimidation.

The states where anti-preferences forces are aiming to be on the ballot are Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, and Nebraska. Leading the campaign, dubbed “Super Tuesday for Equal Rights,” is California businessman Ward Connerly, long the nation’s leading advocate for colorblind government policies.

re: #270 J.S.

Exactly. I suspect the whole thing is a hoax. Ironically, given the vile stupidity of the "thing" (that's the female "thing" and her grotesque activities), the thing does more to harm women. Clearly, it succeeds in making people become pro-life and anti-abortion...(Was that really what this wretched imbecile intended? As I laugh, I hardly think so...)

You classify her has an "imbecile" at your peril. Chances are she's fairly clever.

Most likely, she wanted to make lots of people angry and talking about her project.

That's what happened, and ergo, the project has been a smashing success.

Also, you can't entirely discount the possibility that she is actually pro-life and was hoping for an anti-abortion type backlash.

A bridge with nine feet of clearance? Maybe it's historic, but it's also dangerous. It needs to be replaced, or the road underneath needs to be lowered.

We have huge numbers of those in New England. Buses don't usually make any attempt to use those roads. My question is what a bus driver would be doing anywhere near the bridge in the first place. School bus drivers and public transport drivers are required to follow a specific route.

There's a low clearance warning before the bridge, chains hanging down, they rattle down the roof making a racket. I drive my van down that way, just before the bridge is a left and you can avoid the bridge.

Fall out from the Seattle Public School trip (15,000 students) to see the Dali Lama.

Last week, I talked with the parent of a Seattle Public School student - the mom was very upset about the school's field trip to see the Dalai Lama. She felt that the public schools would never facilitate kids going to a Christian spiritual leader - like the pope - like they did the Buddhist spiritual leader - the Dalai Lama.

That seemed to be confirmed on Monday when KIRO-TV's Essex Porter saw Superintendent of Public Instruction Terry Bergeson at a Dalai Lama event and had the following exchange:

PORTER: Would the Superintendent of Public Instruction urge schools to bring kids to the Pope?

BERGESON: Well, I probably couldn't get away with that as the Pope, Essex. But the Dalai Lama is a man of the whole world.

The Dalai Lama is a man of the whole world but the Pope is not? Isn't there a universality to both of their messages that is relevant to people of all faiths?

From what I have been able to gather a stray dog was used for the exhibit, but was given food and water, and was released after the exhibit was over. As long as the dog was not harmed/tortured in anyway I have no problem with it, but it doesn't really seem like art to me.

Not it is not. There are many women my age who are "pro-choice." Note that I specifically said pro choice not pro-abortion. Many - maybe most of us - are against abortion but feel that this is a decision that is best made between the woman, her doctor and her G_d - whoever that might be.

Good point.

More here: Abortion as art — possibly a hoax, I think.

Brave New Exhibitionism

i wouldn't be surprised to see something like this really happen in the art world. so many artists are doing anything and everything to just get attention. ridiculous stunts rather than actually learn to paint or sculpt.
i know a woman who took drugs to induce induce egg formation (the treatment an infertile woman goes thru to get pg) and she had her own eggs "harvested" and she put them in a solution in a fancy jar and billed the "exhibition" human caviar. (she used her first name for the title of the installation.)
sick.

re: #506 BabbaZee

Yeah... Zombie's (un)covering of that "fair" was quite something...Reminds me of that neologism of Lewis Carroll's "uglification" (hmmm...certain wanna-be "artistes" should be apprehended and locked up on charges of uglifying the environment, in addition to being criminal nuisances).

Speaking of Zombie -- has anyone proposed a solution for the YouTube upload problem? (I was thinking that maybe it has something to do with the format -- that is, the QuickTime format may be problematic? What i would suggest is to download one of those freebie shareware video conversion programs -- then, quickly convert video to MPEG4 -- then try uploading to a mobile device (like a cell phone) see if that upload works...if so, then try YouTube again...(?) This way, you'd at least know whether or not it's format related...so if you can upload to a cell phone but not YouTube, then it's a problem with YouTube...)

re: #303 looking closely

You classify her has an "imbecile" at your peril. Chances are she's fairly clever.

Most likely, she wanted to make lots of people angry and talking about her project.

That's what happened, and ergo, the project has been a smashing success.

Also, you can't entirely discount the possibility that she is actually pro-life and was hoping for an anti-abortion type backlash.

Methinks she's yet another raging narcissist, along the lines of the poor woman murdered in Turkey while wandering in a bridal dress. Look at me! Look at how unique/special/creative/"transgressive" I am! Just a real sick way of getting her fifteen minutes of fame.

I agree that a hoax cannot be entirely ruled out yet, but I think the possibility that's she's a crypto-pro-lifer is extremely slim.

531 Ojoe  Thu, Apr 17, 2008 3:56:01pm

Well Brits, if you give him a life sentence, and I hope you do, then after he dies in prison, at least then put Abu Izzadeen's head on a pike.

Abu Izzadeen has been convicted in Britain of inciting terrorism and faces a possible sentence of life in prison.

It might be a good day for Londoner's to park their motorcars in the garage when this POS gets sentenced and you can bet the Elites will fly away in they're Gulfstream V's and leave the regular folk to deal with the street fighting that will follow.

With 14 year old guard look-a-likes present, no wonder. Time to cuff, duct tape & stuff! Nuff said.

Stiff upper lip, my ass. They'll be calling on us too soon. I opined in the El Guardianista in '04 - "no dice chrome domes, you fired ole Winston and he's dead and buried, so who's going to do your bidding in the 11th hour this time?" When the bloodly civil/Islamic war rages in GB, we'll step in to protect the nukes. OK? Till then, rule Britannia!

I guess this solves Abu Izzadeen's dating situation. Where he's going there is going to be no shortage of willing sexual partners, for Fat Trevor. Okay - a 6 ft 6 inch Muscle Mary, might not be exactly to Trevor's taste, but Allah will provide Inshallah.

Sadly the REAL BASTARD behind the scenes and his chief henchman remain free.

Agreed but had they zapped this clown he would have used "yooman rights" legislation introduced by Blair at his wife's bidding to sue the police. This waste of flesh will get a minimal sentence. I predict no more than two years which in reality means one year. Can't go upsetting ZaNu Labour's core voters after all......

547 transferthem  Fri, Apr 18, 2008 2:03:09am

Well big deal! I bet he gets at least a year in an islamic friendly jail. Long enough to write a few stories for media keen to pour money into this scumbag.

It would be a big deal if incitement to terrorism was classed as a capital crime and he was whisked off to join sadam in the stretched neck department of hell. But western justice is more worried about criminals than victims nowadays.

548 kansas  Fri, Apr 18, 2008 7:44:46am
