"How are these rankings compiled?

Does anyone know how the weight of a link is determined?

6 Sharmuta  Sun, Apr 20, 2008 11:05:18am

That list is sh*t. LGF is far too low, with other blogs, who shall remain nameless, being ranked far too high.

OK, riddle me this, my fellow lizards:

It seems to be the case the the North Korean government has a "YouTube channel" on which they post bizarre propaganda videos (at least bizarre to our eyes -- they probably imagine their videos to be ever so effective). I (and many other people) have scrutinized this channel and their videos, and they all seem completely authentic: it does not appear to be a hoax. The people who run that channel also run this blog which seems to be an authentic North Korean government-sponsored site, full of utterly whacked-out propaganda.

Who do I mention this? Because the North Korean government -- or whoever runs these sites -- posted this video "congratulating" American progressives for fighting against the US government. And the entire video is composed of nothing but...I'm sure you've guessed by now...zombietime photos of moonbats.

What makes it especially bizarre is that it's not just any moonbats -- they seems to focus on the most insane of the insane, as if they somehow were worthy allies.

You have to see it to believe it.

So, I ask: is this as real as it seems to be? Or is it the most elaborate hoax in history?

Could the North Korean government really be so demented and childish that they beam with pride over their connection to their American moonbat pals in the zombietime Hall of Shame?

10 psaturn  Sun, Apr 20, 2008 11:07:12am

And curiously, the Corner is number one, and I never heard of it! Oh well!

There were quite a few blogs on the list I have never heard of it...and I don't think I am a luddite either.

Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups. Whereas Charles limits registration and will and has suspended the privilage of being here when a blogger doen't abide by the rules (much like an exclusive Golf Club), DKos (and HuffPo) are like a municiple golf course (anyone can come and hack away)

Boy flees Islamic school that makes beggars of African kids

In the capital of Dakar alone, at least 7,600 child beggars work the streets, according to a study released in February by the ILO, the United Nations Children's Fund and the World Bank. The children collect an average of 300 African francs a day, just 72 cents, reaping their keepers $2 million a year.

Most of the boys - 90 percent, the study found - are sent out to beg under the cover of Islam, placing the problem at the complicated intersection of greed and tradition. For among the cruelest facts of Coli's life is that he was not stolen from his family. He was brought to Dakar with their blessing to learn Islam's holy book.

In the name of religion, Coli spent two hours a day memorizing verses from the Quran and over nine hours begging to pad the pockets of the man he called his teacher.

It was getting dark. Coli had less than half the 72 cents he was told to bring back. He was afraid. He knew what happened to children who failed to meet their daily quotas.

They were stripped and doused in cold water. The older boys picked them up like hammocks by their ankles and wrists. Then the teacher whipped them with an electrical cord until the cord ate their skin.

Many people had scrutinized these videos and the channel and the blog in detail -- absolutely seamless North Korean propaganda. Most everyone is convinced it's real. If it is a hoax, it's the most perfectly executed hoax anyone's ever seen.

Eardrums to Israel? (from Zombie's Nork vid link)

Rotating title nomination?

26 Thanos  Sun, Apr 20, 2008 11:15:39am

One of the serious problems the right-wing blogosphere has is the lack of in-article linking to each other. Right wing blogs don't throw gratuitous links in posts the way Left wing blogs do.

You ever note all those "diary rescues" on DKOS? Those aren't diary rescues, they are ways to skew SEO. Conservative bloggers really need to do more "best of " and summary posts, and reciprocate links better than they do currently.

That's too funny! After looking at their other material it doesn't appear to be a hoax or a spoof of some sort. I find it hard to imagine they're serious but I don't see anything else in their videos that appears to be a satire.

re: #24 zombie

I would venture to say that the Norks are impervious to irony, so it's probably real.

31 Carl in Jerusalem  Sun, Apr 20, 2008 11:20:01am

Charles,

Happy Passover.

They sent me an email telling me I was # 546 overall and inviting me to pick up a widget. I looked at the list and sent them an email asking "What, no Little Green Footballs?" I'm astounded you're only ranked # 93 in politics. Makes me wonder how their algorithm works. But I'm glad they at least picked you up. Is Markos running Wikio? Otherwise, how can they explain that it took so long?

re: #9 zombie

Sounds crazy, but it's probably real. There's some stupid crazy stuff on that blog, though.

It is a living hell under the police state oppression where even a roof under your feet is no protection from the wickedness of the genocidal nazi international jewry and their constant lawless brawlings and jaywalking, leaving no room for joy and hope.

Obviously a Hurricane Katrina reference. I laughed at it. Does that make me joyful?

And this :

A place where children suffer harshly under sex slavery of working in the secret Texas Halliburton salt mines hidden on the Bush ranch holding Klu Klux Klan meetings to promote hate and bigotry on a daily basis.

The Trifecta ! Pass the salt.

34 JammieWearingFool  Sun, Apr 20, 2008 11:31:49am

re: #33 mikeinmd

Good grief.

I wonder.

Is it possible that this is really a product of the Norks, but maybe the guys who put it together are purposely making it look ridiculous from our point of view and the Norks can't even tell?

36 stevieray  Sun, Apr 20, 2008 11:37:21am

re: #9 zombie

Our own moonbats oft-times have tin ears... why couldn't the Norks as well? After a quick skim, I'd say its real.

re: #9 zombie

Zombie, I looked carefully at the video you linked...I see what you mean. Is that a hoax, a satire or what ? And boy, did they "borrow" your pictures! Shouldn't they at least credit you for the pictures? You know, copyright and all...I think you would have every right to ask Youtube to pull out that video for copyright infringement, as they did not CREDIT you for the pictures!

Let me get this straight. Does this mean, that every time Charles or anyone here links to KOS to show their insanities. Their ratings go up?
That would account for a lot of traffic.
