Extensive buckling of the superstructure, Captain. Credibility leaks in Sections ABC, Fox, and CNN.

Not possible on an active mission, Captain. We will have to return to dock for an overhaul.

McCain is racist and so busy cling to guns and religion he's not really up to the debates, wouldn't want to embarrass the old fart.

31 Gmac  Mon, Apr 21, 2008 3:07:50pm

To bad there hasn't been a real debate yet rather than a lot of press conferences where the 'candidates' spouted a few one liners and the sos boilerplate rhetoric.

Besides, someone might offend him by asking a question he couldn't answer without damning himself. Like why he's voted against the 2nd every chance he could.

32 LanceKates  Mon, Apr 21, 2008 3:07:59pm

re: #23 savage_nation

I wonder hows he's gonna wiggle out of debating McCain if he wins the Democrat nomination....

It'll be easy then. McCain is easily made into a mean oppressor by the MSM, with no fears (like they have of pissing off the Clintons)

. . . so it could get up and just randomly say non-connected words, then wait for the msm to do the rest.

Besides... some of the msm comes down against Obama, which is hurting him. If he becomes the nominee for the Dems, only FOX will dare to speak ill of him.

Since most people don't watch the debates for any substance, but to see what 'juicy' things happen (then get the proper spin on the 'issues' from CBS the next night), there's no problems with ACTUAL performance against McCain.

(Cynical? Yeah, probably... )

Hillary should demand that the debate be held as scheduled, and an empty podium, with a suit hanging behind it (in or out of a dryclenaing bag), be placed next to hers. The American people would love it, and give those Democrat uberdelegates something to ponder.

Lizards,

I posted this a couple of days ago. If you have not read Obama's "Dreams From My Father", I urge you to do so. The book reveals Obama for what he is at the core. A Communist. Here's a snippet:

"In 1983, I decided to become a community organizer. There wasn't much detail to the idea; I didn't know anyone making a living that way. When classmates in college asked me just what it was that a community organizer did, I couldn't answer them. Instead, I'd pronounce on the need for change. Change in the White House, where Reagan and his minions were carrying on with their dirty deeds. Change in the Congress, compliant and corrupt. Change in the mood of the country, manic and self-absorbed. Change won't come from the top, I would say. Change will come from a mobilized grass roots. That's what I'll do, I'll organize black folks. At the grass roots, for change."

Lizards, 1983 was the beginning of one the longest economic booms in our history. More people were lifted out of poverty in the 1980's than ever before, worldwide. 1983 was when we started to finally destroy communism. If Obama had succeeded in change in 1983, there would still be a Soviet Union. What the f-*** is he talking about? And guess what kind of change he is referring to now. Yep, you guessed it. Communism, worldwide communism. Don't believe me? Read his books. He tells you.

This just keeps getting better. After the 'Reporting for Duty' John Effin Kerry flamed out in 04, largely because he failed to adequately address the truth and facts over his service and post-war activities, we now have Barry whinging about being swiftboated, completely unable to factually address his questionable connections and revelations of being an extreme leftist - he decides to even bail on a debate moderated by SeeBS.

I think most Democrats are now seeing that red warning light flashing consistently out of the corner of their eye warning about 08. They've gone too far to dump Barry, his baggage, and African American support. Hillary offers only a little less baggage and similar levels of polarization in the Party. At best, perhaps the party can grasp to holding Congress.....but given the performances of Reid and Pelosi there is the risk of another Congressional backlash.

Bitter? Just watch the left after election day this November.

I don't think that is true at all. I've heard various versions of this theory thrown about in several different venues, but I truly believe that the identity politics that the Dems are trying so desperately to base this campaign on (where do you think the term "dream ticket" comes from?) will not work on a national level. It plays well in the Dem primary, where the willful idiots that they pander to aren't cerebral enough to think beyond outward appearances, and it make work in some congressional races in certain regions. But, in a national election, I think the American people are smart enough to see through the flimsy facade that any "identity" candidate invariable dons.

Quite frankly, I would love to see this supposed "dream ticket." It would get destroyed faster than a Christian in Mecca, and spin backlash among the left would truly be a sight to behold.

One thing I heard about Barry from Dick Morris in passing, as a throwaway line. Morris was talking about the Million Man March, which Barry helped to organize for Farrakhan. Morris said that Clinton did not want to appear at the march, nor be around to take any criticism from the march's planners. Clinton thought the American people viewed, rightly, Farrakhan as a racist. So Clinton travelled to Alabama and gave a speech just to be clear of Washington, D.C. that day. As much as I dislike Clinton, he's a real politician with some common sense (please note: I said some). Barry has none, and doesn't want to answer for that.

The rioting is going to be inevitable this year. What we really need to be hoping for, I think, is for the rioting to actually burst it's way into the convention hall. We all know that the MSM is going to do all it can to downplay the troublemakers outside of the convention, so if it actually works it's way into the convention itself, they won't have a choice but to broadcast it nationwide. Hell, who knows? There may be actual delegates who start crap!

Soviet Union Lives on In Cyberspace

Champions of the online Soviet domain say there is still plenty of room for growth.

Some envisage the ".su" domain as a virtual venue for those who fondly recall the old Soviet Union as a place where Russian, the lingua franca of the Soviet empire, knit together a host of Asian and European ethnic groups and cultures.

On the other hand, Obama would have been baptised more recently than that. So I would think it would be easier to trace a record, a memory or a church announcement of some sort.

re: #104 reno911

I think this is going to be Dingle-Barry's Achilles heal. I still haven't heard what he did, and who was paying him to do whatever the hell it was he was doing. Hell, he couldn't even tell people at the time what he was doing. Real secret agent material.

Uh-oh...off topic but humoreous...it seems the Mullahs are a bit distressed(like that's anything new):

Deputy Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Olli Heinonen, arrived in Tehran early on Monday under the pretext of talking{it sounds more like he may have found the family jewels and would like recovery costs} with Iranian officials about the nuclear program.

The word “pretext” is being used here because Heinonen’s mission, as acknowledged by the IAEA, is outside the agency’s legal framework. Based on the subsequent verifications, the two-day mission is aimed at finalizing the joint American and Israeli hoax of fabricating yet another phony pile of documents against the Islamic Republic{ahhh gee...not that Chinese stuff?} and its non-military nuclear program, which, by the way, seems more like a ludicrous drama indeed.

Heinonen played the first act of this ludicrous theater at the meeting of IAEA Governor Generals based on the fabricated documents....

Let us now pause for a moment of Science!

The nearest thing we had to aliens from another planet, was aliens from another continent.

The consequences for the Native Americans were drastic, and back in Europe, syphilis cut a wicked swath.

We're a long ways from knowing whether there is alien life, or if there is, what it's like. About all we have to go on is some basic limits to what primitive life forms can be like. They'll need some source of energy, and sunlight only gives so much. They'll need some way to store information so the next generation can be more or less like the one that came before. But does it have to be DNA and RNA?

We have some very interesting samples of rocks that landed on Earth, on the Antarctic ice cap, after being blasted off Mars by an old asteroid impact. These have features that are consistent with bacterial-style life, and no other halfway plausible explanation has been advanced. But---maybe there's a good explanation that has nothing to do with life, only we're not smart enough to see it.

So, we need more rocks from Mars, better telescopes that can find earth-sized planets orbiting other stars and analyze the chemistry of the atmospheres of those planets, and so on. The Mars Rovers have shown that there was liquid water at work on the face of Mars, some time in the past. So far, so good, as far as life having once existed on Mars. Nothing we've learned yet has turned out to be a deal breaker.

I've been thinking for a while now that Barry has serious (double) abandonment issues, not too mention losing his mother while young. So that makes it a trifecta. A man sure of himself would not hook up with someone like Michelle, nor hang around with someone like Wright. I also read a comment (on HA) that Barry's book, Dreams of My Father, was a weird thing to write considering it was about the black father who left him, rather than about the white grandmother who raised him (basically mythologizing his blackness while denying his white heritage). Like I said, the man has issues, and, I agree, should seek a therapist and not the presidency.

He will have to. I was really surprised at the questions in the last Democrat debate. There were some tough questions and both candidates waffled on the tougher questions. The longer Hillary remains in the race, the more collateral damage to both the Democrat candidates. I hope she stays in till the convention. McCain could be the luckiest Republican around!

Yeah read that. I do not believe that he is one of us. It is a media driven con.

I am not at all convinced that he is even legally eligible to BE the President of the United States of America. There are reports (and apparently documentation) that his mother waited too long to leave Kenya and he was born there, after which she raced back to Hawai'i and registered his birth. But that makes him at best exactly what he tried to say McCain was: ineligible because he was naturalized at birth rather than natural born. (Does not apply to McCain - he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which was US territory at the time, making him a full citizen by birth rather than a naturalized citizen.)

Adults don't behave that way and will work through their differences. The thinned skinned little kids will find their way over to Kos and post.

To Senator Obama:

Chicken!

If he's the nominee, what is he going to do about debating Senator McCain? Obviously, to win, he'll need all the questioners in his corner AND debate 101 classes.

In the general election, he'll have that.

re: #342 galloping granny

I am not at all convinced that he is even legally eligible to BE the President of the United States of America. There are reports (and apparently documentation) that his mother waited too long to leave Kenya and he was born there, after which she raced back to Hawai'i and registered his birth. But that makes him at best exactly what he tried to say McCain was: ineligible because he was naturalized at birth rather than natural born. (Does not apply to McCain - he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, which was US territory at the time, making him a full citizen by birth rather than a naturalized citizen.)

No matter where he was born, he is a natural born US citizen because his mother was.

My son was born in England, and I have his Consular Report of Birth--he's "natural born."

I think his abandonment issues will lead him to seek peace with the Muslim world no matter the cost to this country. They would be the obvious stand-in for his father, who he never got to know in person, and who's approval he desperately craves but can never really get.

And of course, by 'reverting', Barry will have the love of the Ummah wash over him. That will be the affirmation "he desperately craves" -- and our Waterloo.

Goddess, you are wrong. You have his consular report of birth and he is a naturalized by birth citizen. And your son is much younger than Obama. The rules have changed. I had a child in Germany not long after Obama was born. Under the rules in effect at the time Obama was born he is at the very best naturalized by birth if he was not born inside the United States of America or in one of the territories - Puerto Rico, Guam, Panama Canal Zone, US Virgin Islands and maybe at the time the Phillipines.

Being born on an overseas military base also counts as being born "in America" and eligible to run for President.

Who is picking on zombie?
*pushes sleeves up*

Nobody is picking on Zombie.

Zombie just lost her patience. She is very thorough, always starting at the top of the thread and reading each comment, but the thread was just too long. After a couple hundred comments, I think she just gave up, because she was at a different level of understanding than some of the posters and felt frustrated.

I don't mean to belittle anyone. As Will Rogers said, "Everybody's ignorant - only on different subjects." I saw comments that made it clear that individual posters did not really understand the scientific method or what "theory" means, for example. I personally enjoy explaining things. I actually more or less do it for a living! I've found most people are very open to ideas - they are certainly not stupid. However, sometimes, you need to start with the basics.

401 Lizard by the Bay  Mon, Apr 21, 2008 5:24:41pm

I think I read it on Shrinkwrapped quite some time ago. There is a psychological connection between the loss (or abandonment) of the father that drives many male Muslims. IIRC Saddam Hussein was the prime example. I don't remember the others, but Obama's need to have a series of "mentors", i.e. substitute father figures, has been there since high school at least. The communist writer in high school, Reverend Wright after law school, and maybe others. I should really do some research before I go blathering, but I didn't want to lose the thought. Of course when there are many wives and children, but just one man, it must resemble inadequate fathering.

425 Reno911  Mon, Apr 21, 2008 7:25:39pm

re: #424 JustMyView

Of course he explicitly contradicted what he wrote in his book. He was being hammered for it politically. Do you not get that Obama is a politician and depends on the fact that people (like you) don't read his books?

Again, read the book before you tell me what I "read into" it. I, at least, read the book before commenting.

Politicians also count on people not going to the trouble to review their records. If folks did more of that, they'd write in a more Presidential choice than is currently being offered.

New Cold War Riddles Democratic Party

American Climate Catastrophy Worse Than Thought

LALALAND. In the conflict over the White House candidacy, the leader of the Democratic Party´s wacademic wing H. Clinton yesterday announced the purchase of 1.300 new Bigot-24 missiles in her campaign to stare down B. Obama, the ghetto wing´s hopeful who had announced to take his rival out of business. "If you can´t stand the freeze, stay in the kitchen" , Clinton said under the cheers of her wacademia supporters.

Obama reacted with an announcement that he would underline his determination to live up on his promise by the purchase of 1.400 new Zombie-23 rockets, which were immediately to be deployed in a deterrence circle around his opponent, who had already begun her deployment within minutes of her announcement. "You can´t make me go all Wright on you", Obama said on the sidelines of a spontaneously organised ghetto rally.

Allegations that Clinton and Obama were exchanging messages through the Swiss embassy could not be confirmed by embassy staff. Wall Street reacted with a sharp hike in defense stocks.
