'Why Can't I Just Eat My Waffle?'

Tue, Apr 22, 2008 at 8:00:36 am PDT

The would-be President of the United States doesn’t like answering questions about Hamas.

WASHINGTON (AFP-EJP)—-Democratic White House contender Barack Obama could not hide his irritation Monday when asked by a reporter what he thought about former president Jimmy Carter’s meeting with Hamas last week.

“Why can’t I just eat my waffle?” the Illinois senator said as he ate breakfast in Scranton, Pennsylvania, according to MSNBC television pictures.

Pressed again for an answer, he replied: “Just let me eat my waffle.”

Mrs. Butterworth comments on Barack Obama’s refusal to answer a foreign policy question in mid-waffle.

Obama told a synagogue in Philadelphia that while it was legitimate to meet with the leaders of states such as Syria or Iran, even if they were hostile to Israel, "Hamas is not a state" and did not warrant such a move.

Is he agreeing that it's okay for Carter to do so?

Caroline Glick on BHO's fascist proclivities:

Speaking in February of the man she knows better than anyone else does, Michelle Obama said that her husband, Illinois Senator and candidate for the Democratic Presidential nomination Barack Obama, is the only candidate for president who understands that before America can solve its problems, Americans have to fix their "broken souls."

She also said that her husband's unique understanding of the state of souls of the American people makes him uniquely qualified to be President. Obama can do what his opponent in the Democratic race Senator Hillary Clinton, and Senator John McCain, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, cannot do. He can heal his countrymen's broken souls. He will redeem them.

But then, saving souls is hard work, and Mrs. Obama won't place the whole burden on her husband. He'll make the Americans work for him. As she put it, "Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zone. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed."

At base, Mrs. Obama's statement is nothing less than a renunciation of democracy and an embrace of fascism. The basic idea of liberty is that people have a natural right to live their lives as usual and to be uninvolved and uninformed. And they certainly have a right to expect that their government will butt out of their souls.

IN CONTRAST, fascist societies, as Jonah Goldberg notes in the latest issue of National Review, are all about the notions of "unity" and "change" and melding our broken souls into a fixed, united will for change that Obama has made the core theme of his campaign. Goldberg compared "unity" with "patriotism," and explained that while the latter connotes the willingness to defend the moral values of a society, unity is bereft of any moral content. "The only value of unity is strength, strength in numbers - and... that is a fascist value. That's the symbolism of the fasces, the bundle of sticks that in combination are invincible."...

Another thing fascist societies have in common: charismatic leaders.

Waffle (speech)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The term waffle, particularly outside of the U.S., denotes language without meaning; blathering, babbling, droning. One might waffle throughout an essay or a presentation, when not having enough material or needing to fill in time. Etymologists say the term was derived from waff, a 17th-century onomatopoeia for the sound a barking dog makes, similar to the modern woof. Although the relationship between a dog's bark and indecisiveness is not entirely clear, the speculation is that the words of a waffler have no more meaning than a dog barking.[citation needed]

Waffling can also be used as a derogatory term to describe a candidate or politician who is said to easily switch sides on issues to curry political favor, as an easily-flipped breakfast food with the same name. A waffle was famously used to represent President Bill Clinton in the Doonesbury comic strip.

Heh.

May 3, 2010.

Lizard Press Seattle -- As Los Angeles lies in smoking ruins with the body count approaching 1.25 million. The sequence of events in the Obama White House is coming to lights.

Pres. Obama had sat down to breakfast when National Security Advisor Medea Benjamin contacted the President with a flash alert from Military forces in the Persian Gulf. Obama told Benjamin it could wait till after breakfast.

When NORAD issued a launch alert, Obama's Cheif of Staff Ayers told the Military Attache to hold the matter until he was finished. Finally ignoring the orders the Attache forced his way into the private White House quarters and informed Obama that a warhead was being tracked and the target was LA. He was also informed the the DDG-56 USS John S. McCain was off the coast of California and could intercept the warhead.

Obama the screamed at the Attache.

Nothing short of a messianic complex.....these people think they're G_d!

.......they can see into our souls and know that they are broken.......AND heal them....

There aren't words.....

If the phone rings at 3am, he is ready. If it rings during waffle breakfast, they will just have to call back after coffee.

re: #102 adragonknowsbest

Waffling around questions, backing out of debates in North Carolina, whining about getting asked tough questions, bowling a 37 (I still can't get over that 37...it's such a pathetic score!)...can BO come across anymore like a pandsy? Hillary will play up BO's pandsy factor big time....

You are forgetting the arugula and the $99.99 a pound ham. (I paid $9 a pound for sea scallops on sale for Sunday dinner and thought I was blowing the food budget for the entire year!)

I haven't read the thread, so I' may be going against the grain, or echoing the prevalent attitude, but I'm not that upset with the man over this. Upset at him for a million other things: surrender, socialism, racist viewpoints, anti-American, communist mentors, etc. But wanting one minute to finish his breakfast? Eh.

OTOH, if he'd answer the questions when he is "on duty", they leave him alone off duty.

BIG WAFFLES ARE RIPPING US OFF!

A play in one act:

VP William Ayers: President Obama, the North Koreans are firing missles at us......

President BHO: Can't you see I am eating a Belgian waffle? With whip creme and stawberries? Won't you just let me eat my waffle? Talk to me after lunch, I'll be having a savory truffled mousse terrine compote of baby quail, and will be in a much better place to talk....

End scene.

Obama triumphs over The Man by eating Aunt Jemima waffles, an historic symbol of racist oppression.

I wouldn't want to be talking about Hamas either if I were Obama. Waffling at the Waffle House is just what he's done. He first said that Carter's trip was as a private citizen and it didn't trouble him.

Then, he must have had one of his more astute politicos whisper in his ear that Carter's trip would have a deleterious effect on the PA Jewish vote, because Carter's nothing but a useful idiot for Hamas.

So, he said that it was a bad idea.

Never mind that Obama has said that he wouldn't rule out meeting with Ahmadinejad, whose own views are identical to that of Hamas when it comes to jihad and Israel.

And Carter's policy people are working for Obama's campaign, and Carter's repeatedly said that he and his people think the world of Obama, and the world wants to see an Obama presidency.

Of course, the world that Carter thinks wants to see Obama as president are the likes of Hamas, the terror masters in the Middle East, and everyone else who thinks that a political neophyte like Obama will be a pushover and that the dictators, despots, and terrorists will have a field day at the expense of the US and its allies.
