Terrorist Fundraisers for Obama

Wed, Apr 23, 2008 at 9:32:34 am PDT

Another big Barack Obama supporter: Hatem El-Hady, former chairman of the Toledo-based Islamic charity Kindhearts, closed by the US government in 2006 for terrorist fundraising: Terrorist Fundraisers for Obama.

El-Hady has now devoted himself to raising money for Barack Obama; he has a page at the official Obama campaign web site, with three “friends” listed on it: “Rick,” “Fatima from Toledo, Ohio,” and ... Michelle Obama.

Note: when someone is listed as a “friend,” it means they specifically chose it. In other words, Michelle Obama’s name isn’t there because El-Hady put it there — it’s there because she chose to be listed as his friend.

The Department of Justice had a very different version of events. According to the DOJ, Kindhearts assumed the role of lead terrorist fundraising in the US after the government had closed other such Islamic "charities":

"KindHearts is the progeny of Holy Land Foundation and Global Relief Foundation, which attempted to mask their support for terrorism behind the façade of charitable giving," said Stuart Levey, Treasury Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence.

Not only was Kindhearts engaged in providing funds for HAMAS in Lebanon and the West Bank, it had hired as a fundraising specialist the man identified as the designated HAMAS bag man in the US, Mohammed El-Mezain.

Ouch.

Obama’s Pastor Urged Divestment from Israel, Called Zionism, Racism

The Israelis have illegally occupied Palestinian territories for almost 40 years now. It took a divestment campaign to wake the business community up concerning the South Africa issue. Divestment has now hit the table again as a strategy to wake the business community up and to wake Americans up concerning the injustice and the racism under which the Palestinians have lived because of Zionism.
The Divestment issue will hit the floor during this month’s General Synod. Divesting dollars from businesses and banks that do business with Israel is the new strategy being proposed to wake the world up concerning the racism of Zionism. That Divestment issue won’t make the press either, however.

Hatem Elhady.

Dr. Hatem Elhady, president of Kind Hearts' board of directors, said it is still waiting.
...
Running a Muslim charity in America has become a "very risky business," Dr. Elhady said. He has gotten calls from other U.S. Muslim charities worried the government will shut them down, even if they've done nothing wrong. "They said that if this happens to Kind Hearts, and we were so strict about our money distribution, than everybody is targeted," he said.

To save Obama the trouble of issuing a response, will offer the boiler plate. As you read it, imagine Whine-O presenting it to fawning reporters.

"Once again my campaign is being asked to waste time and effort responding to these distractions. Allow me to remind people that, just because my wife is friends with a terrorist fund raiser, and just because the official blogger of my campaign is a Marxist doesn't mean that I endorse or subscribe to those views.

I happen to know a guy who drives a Hummer - that doesn't mean I endorse the eco-terrorism that he does.

We are busy trying to save the world and these silly distractions don't belong in the new politics that we practice.

By the way, did you know that Hillary is a lesbian?"

Hey Ward! Stuff like this would only be a deal-breaker for them if they cared. Which they manifestly do not.

But the GOP had better wake up real quick here: all the exit polls from yesterday's PA primary showed that the NUMBER ONE issue for 57% of the voters is the ECONOMY. Iraq was number 1 for only 22% of the voters.
The economy isn't Bush's fault. Frankly, when the economy was cookin' right along, Bush didn't deserve the credit for it either.
But will voters recognize this come November?
How can the GOP pin the economy on Congress when we're running Senator John McCain?
Methinks, as in EVERY election not held during the middle of a "real war" most voters vote their wallets and pocketbooks.

Obama's terrorist connections:

1. Nadhmi Auchi Iraqi Baath party member & Saddam crony, billionaire arms dealer. Obama attended a reception held by Tony Rezko in Auchi's honor.

2. William Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, unrepentant Weathermen bombers. Obama served on boards with Ayers, considers him a friend.

3. Rev Jeremiah Wright: Obama's pastor, he once traveled to Libya with Louis Farrakhan to receive a "humanitarian award" from dictator & terrorist supporter, Muammar Qaddafi.

4. Hatem El-Hady: currently fundraiser for Obama campaign, former chairman of Kindhearts "charity", closed by the US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its assets frozen. Kindhearts was an operation of the Holy Land Foundation (another "charity" closed for funding terrorists).

5. Mousa Abu Marzouk, as Hamas deputy political director, he acted as Jimmy Carter's host during his visit to Syria. Before he was convicted & deported from the US, Marzouk was a senior director of the Holy Land Foundation and a Hamas agent.

6. Gaza Palestinians campaign for Obama ...with Hamas' approval.

7. Carter hints at Obama endorsement While technically not a "terrorist connection", Carter's presence here does close an interesting circle.

My guess is we haven't seen all of it yet, either.

I hope there's a good repository on the net of all the dirt being dug up on Obama. Perhaps Pajamas Media may want to create something. Obama may have an excuse/dismissal for every one of these revelations, and each one by itself may mean little, but when you start putting every little thing we learn together, it paints an inescapable picture of who the man is, and more interestingly, how hard he has tried to convince everyone that he's someone else.

Yet another antisemitic Obama blogger on Obama's site:

"Why did Barack back off his positions he held recognizing the slow Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people when BLASTED by the Israel Lobby (AIPAC, et al) in early 2007? Why was Jimmy Carter savagely attacked and branded 'antisemitic' for publication of 'Palestine: Peace not Apartheid'?

Why do the Neocons - aka the 'Israel Lobby' - disallow even the most basic and elementary public education of our electorate deliniating - let alone repudiating - the warcrimes that through the Bush regime they have forced the Amercian people (including our GI's in Iraq and our men verging on an assault on Iran) to commit?

Duh - its the Israel Lobby, stupid - it's the perfect crime: Resistance to the Neocons is Antisemitic and Futile - that’s the scam the Neocons have been running. Any discussion of the Neocons or their motives is Antisemitic and therefore '3rd rail' and therefore the perfect coverup of why the Neocon Coup that is currently running America (Bush/Cheney/Abrams/Wolfowitz/Libby/Kristol/Perle/ Hadley, et al) cannot EVEN BE DISCUSSED by our media.

There's a good supply of oil and food; prices are being driven up in the futures markets. Maybe Soros buying victory for the party he fully owns?

And more antisemitism:

Speaking of this Obama dream ticket - Obama must dump Dennis Ross from any foreign policy post considerations in his adminsitration - Dennis is a NEOCON. Dennis is a Scooter Libby defender, is CURRENTLY director of the neocon warcriminals at WINEP, is a well loved AIPAC lackey, and ATTACKED Jimmy Carter's 'Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid', amongst a trove of other Israel Lobby- approved activities. This is the last guy on earth who should be warping American foreign policy in the middle east - especially since the FIRST thing America needs to do exert tremendous and overwhelming political pressure on Israel - America needs to LEAD the international effort to put this UN-violating country back in it's pre-67 box as demanded by the UN time and again rather than time and again VETOING that very pressure from the international community. Sure - conforming to these UN Sec Council Resolution 242, 194, 338, the Geneva Conventions, and International Law will be a pinch for Israel and just exactly what the DENNIS ROSS, the Israel Lobby, AIPAC, and the neocons don't want to happen

Obama will win the nomination and be judged by the company he keeps.

For the dems, the hits keep coming!

This bus wreck leading to the November disaster for them is the great teacher. the problem is they never learn the lesson. I have shown this before but let's repeat it for the hatchlings:

Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter (1976) and Clinton all ran as centrist strong-on-defense Democrats and won election.

Stevenson, Humphrey, McGovern, Carter (1980), Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerry all ran as liberals, were seen as liberals or tried to pretend they weren't liberals and lost. Most interestingly, national defense was not much of an issue in 2000, and Gore did win the majority of the popular vote; he actually got more votes than Clinton (who never got above 44%), had he won his home state of Tennessseem, he would have won, a series of damaging articles in a small town Tenn. newspaper alleging ties between Gore and some nefarious local individuals was probably the difference between winning and losing.

All of which just make the point clearer: with a centrist candidate, the Democrats can and usually do win. They won't have that problem this year.

Domestic terrorists (not the ex-souse kind, the ones that make bombs) and international terror suspects see something in Obama that gives them hope. They are close to the Obama's gravitational orbit. They are avowed unrepentant enemies of this nation and work to get THIS MAN elected.

I predict more and worse to come. For the Democrats, they should seize this news and drive Obama out before he destroys the party. He is too close to the Oval Office for my comfort. The only salvation for them is to force Hil and Barrack to the sidelines and draft Gore.

This story is a thermonuclear warhead for Republicans in the fall.

Turkey's prime minister has told Syrian President Bashar Assad that Israel would withdraw from the Golan Heights in return for peace, reports say.

The al-Watan newspaper quoted "informed sources" as saying Recep Tayyip Erdogan had telephoned Mr Assad on Tuesday morning to inform him of the offer.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has declined to comment.

re: #166 Ayatollah Ghilmeini Another good post! However I gotta tell ya that I STILL think Hillary's going to win the nomination. She has won ALL of the heavy electoral vote states popular votes; due, however, to the truly bizarre rules of the DNC, she isn't winning the majority of delegates. And a hell of a lot of Dems (think Kennedy, Kerry,Dodd et.al.) have "crossed her" (in her eyes) and are properly terrified of the payback they'd suffer should she win.
And although I used to think her negatives were way too high for her to get the nomination, what the hell is the DNC going to say when she says, legitimately, I won California, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Ohio, Florida, Michigan and Pennsylvania - if a candidate doesn't win at least 5 of those states in the general election, they won't win the election to become POTUS.
And unfortunately for us, as I indicated above, the economy was the number one issue for 57% of the voters (D's and crossover R's) in the PA. Primary and the Iraq war was only #1 to like 22% of the voters.
Obama might get the nomination (I think the ideas I've put forth above FOR nominating Hillary are gonna be hard for the DNC to resist) and, based on the Economy alone, win the POTUS cause most folks only care about their wallets and pocketbooks and Obama is less of a Washington "insider" than is McCain.
IF Hillary does get the nomination, ALL the exit polling indicated that the overwhelming majority of Black Dem's have said they won't vote for Hillary no matter what, even if Obama is the VP nominee. Hillary runs for POTUS, I think McCain has a great shot at winning. Not so hot if Obama is the nominee. And that's gonna be the pitch to the superdelegates, too.

re: #188 rawmuse

I just heard on ABC news (radio, top of the hour) that the NC state GOP was running ads calling Obama 'too radical for North Carolina". True to form, McCain immediately condemned the ads, according to ABC news. So, if you think that McCain may have the ability to pull defeat from the jaws of victory, you may be correct. McCain has a breathtaking penchant for browbeating those who are trying to help him, IMHO.

Try to consider what McCain is trying to do.

Obama got this wave of adulation because he was going to change the tone of politics in America. Most took that to mean some reform and less polarization (what it really means is leftist takeover, but that is another story). So Obama demonstrated that there is a big, fat middle in America that wants the rhetoric toned down and business to get done.

Meanwhile, Obama is locked in a battle with the Queen of Mean and his true colors (red) are showing, and he is every bit as polarizing as Clinton.

That leaves the middle for McCain, who has a track record of reform rather than just rhetoric. He gains little by polarizing anything because the left is doing all of the work for him.

Above the fray with occasional efforts (like this one) to "call off the dogs" so that he gets to claim that middle, reform minded ground when Obama is eventually declared the nominee.

Try not to let it bother you - McCain is just taking real estate from Democrats - real estate they never had a right to claim in the first place.

Last week's meeting between former US president Jimmy Carter and the exiled leader of Hamas militants did not produce any results, Palestinian foreign minister Riyad al-Malki said here Wednesday.

"President Carter came to the region thinking he could achieve something. Unfortunately president Carter left without anything concrete," he told a conference in the Spanish capital.

Just out of curiosity, why do you libs play the moral equivalency game with Hagee and Wright? There is no equivalence between accepting an endorsement, and being "intellectually intimate" with someone for twenty years. Plus, you'd be hard pressed to find people equivalent to Calypso Louie and Hamas endorsing McCain.

If you build a straw man, expect it to catch fire.

Hagee has denounced replacement theology, believing that chapters 9-11 of the book of Romans teach that the Jews have continuing favor with God by the election of grace, and as a people of the covenant, do not require belief in Jesus Christ for their salvation. He believes the Bible commands Christians to support Israel and the Jewish people. [6][7]

Because the territory of what is now Israel, Gaza and the West Bank was ruled by the Ottoman Turks prior to World War I, then controlled by the British, and later partitioned under United Nations mandate, Hagee argues that the land does not belong to the Arabs. The name Palestine (deriving from the ancient Philistines) was imposed by the Roman emperor Hadrian to punish the Jews for their revolt against Rome. Hagee maintains there is no Palestinian language, no historic Palestinian nation: most people claiming to be Palestinians immigrated from other Arab states. [8]

Hagee says that Iran will never respond favorably to diplomacy and is a threat to Western civilization.[citation needed]. To eliminate Iran's alleged nuclear programme, he supports an American-Israeli pre-emptive military strike. [9][10] Hagee supports the Conservative movement in the United States.

LA Times is heading for a bottom again

John McCain gets tax-free disability pension

The disclosure of the Navy benefit for injuries incurred as a Vietnam POW may raise fitness questions.
...
Certain types of military and veterans pensions are either partially or completely tax-exempt, depending on the seriousness of the disability. In McCain's case, the exemption is 100%.

If McCain had to pay taxes on the full amount of the pension, it would have increased his tax bill by about $18,000 based on the percentage of his income he paid to the federal government.

McCain spent 5 1/2 years as a prisoner of war in Hanoi. After he was released in 1973, he returned home on crutches and began a painful physical rehabilitation. He later regained flight status and commanded a Navy squadron before retiring from the service in 1981.

McCain would be the oldest man to enter the White House if he is elected president, and questions have been raised about his health.

McCain has twice developed melanoma, a potentially deadly form of skin cancer.

The fact that he is legally designated with a disability pension may raise further questions.

re: #255 buzzsawmonkey

The PLO was founded in 1964--the same year the Voting Rights Act was passed in the US. During the Civil Rights Movement the marchers had identified with the Israelites in bondage in Egypt, and had welcomed the participation of whites--largely Jews--in marches, organizing, voter registration drives, etc.

But as the Marxists and black separatists took the movement away from the church-based roots, the whites were increasingly less welcome. In the end, Stokely Carmichael--an open anti-semite who later converted to Islam and changed his name--told the whites to get out.

It is no coincidence that efforts were made between the Marxists and black separatists who were hijacking the civil rights movement and imploding it away from black participation in the larger society and the founders of the PLO to draw parallels between American blacks and the newly-invented "Palestinians"--and away from the movement's former identification with the Jews. The PLO had the same Marxist roots as the domestic black radicals--and many of the domestic black radicals were already playing footsie with Islam, whether in its classic form or in the form of the racist offshoot NOI.

The "sister movement" relationship between the murderous radicals of the Middle East and the race-hustlers who supplanted the principled leadership of the Civil Rights Movement's early years has been in place for over 40 years. The roots of the Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers, and Bernardine Dohrn go back to that early connection. Obama and his wife grew up marinated in this relationship.

Exemplary post! This is why I read LGF everyday.

Does anyone know of a good website that contains all the horrible things we've learned about Obama in a discrete package? Honestly, the guy has so many warts it's hard to keep track of all of them. I'd love to be able to point his supporters to a comprehensive list of all the socialist, race-baiting horrors he believes in (not that it'll do much good).

That way they're socially corruptable and able to be swayed to the socialist mantra.

That's why Hillary's win in PA is so important. The longer the Dems can hurt each other, the better. The Dem race creates a split, however slight, in the MSM.
That has allowed things like Wright's videos, "Bittergate," the Ayers friendship, etc. to see the light of day. It has also allowed most of the MSM to attack Hillary as the liar she is. Dole did not have this advantage.
I remain tentatively hopeful that the damage will last through November.

Good news on the home front. My liberal girlfriend who was so enthralled by Obama is "no longer in love." And we have had a couple riproaring fights in recent months when her infatuation has come up against my absolute distaste for the man. I have a feeling that she's not the only one out there, by a long shot.

I'm still very much scared of a Clinton-Obama ticket which could unify the clashing halves of the Dems. If any one can make the case that the Obamabots wouldn't be satisfied with the VP slot, I'd be very glad to hear it. And Barry is opportunistic enough to hitch his wagon to the Clintons.

The competitive race up to now has been a very good thing, but perhaps it's time for Operation Chaos to switch to helping put it away for Obama so that the Dems are stuck with him. And Hillary would never accept the VP position under him.

re: #364 Honorary Yooper

Looks more like Costco has a logistics problem. There's no rationing that I know of at the grocers here in Chicagoland.

The thing is a combination of how Costco works and Silicon Valley demographics.

First - Costco sells bulk items and dedicates limited space to any particular item category. Stockouts at Costco are quite common - one week there are patio heaters, next week there aren't. Furthermore, the store manager decides reorder points.

Second - Silicon Valley is flooded with educated immigrant labor because: A) our Universities find it more important to expand the numbers of graduates in fields like Women's Studies and Cultural Anthropology than it does in Engineering; and B) foreign labor is cheap, so it is easier to fly folks in from India than to open an R&D center in Michigan or Ohio, where there is a supply of engineers, but they want more money than guys from Bophal.

The Asian engineers buy lots of rice, and they want it cheap from Costco. So there is your stockout condition.

More interesting is that the press exploits this as economic woe, without questioning why the richest people in the world (the SF area "Billionaires Row" elites) finance companies that don't employ Americans in places where Americans live but fly in cheap labor instead, and then finance politicians who talk about ending free trade (which partly makes the cheap imported labor possible). Such a story would expose the grotesque hypocrisy of the Pelosi Democrats and would demonstrate why common Americans should RUN from the Democratic party.

I"m not so confident in that, although I know where it is coming from. She is arrogance distilled. Nonetheless, I think she'd be willing to take it as a stepping stone to the top.

She wouldn't be the "go to foreign funerals and stay in the background" kind of VP, though, and they'd clash to no end. She'd try to drive from the VP seat, just as she did from the First Ladies office.

Charles, why no moral outrage from you about this guy?

[Link: en.wikipedia.org...]

Who says one cannot have moral outrage against John Hagee's belief system? Is your point that Hagee and Hatem el Hady are morally equivalent? If so, you are only partly correct. Leaving aside Hady's terror sponsoring activities (and the possible next First Lady's effective co-sponsorship via her endorsement of his terror-mongering) please examine the fact that the greater religious body that surrounds Hagee is different in every possible way from the greater religious body surrounding Hatem. Hagee is surrounded by a functional Christianity - which essentially (and practically) abjures his ignorance and hate. Hatem is surrounded by Islamism, which essentially (and practically) supports his ignorance and hate. As such, Hagee's beliefs and practices are aberrant and Hatem's beliefs and practices are mainstream.

You probably refer to Hagee's association w/McCain. Don't confuse a peripheral association w/ a close association. Michelle Obama is endorsing Hatem. McCain has not endorsed Hagee; Hagee has endorsed McCain.

Big Difference.

Ya know I'm gettin' along in years now but that song still makes a tingle run down my middle leg.

It takes a great deal of courage for someone to stand up in front of a crowd of thousands of people and tell people what it really is. It's not just that, of course. The music absolutely rocks. Later versions miss that insight.

Obama could learn a much from that song.

The Waffle party was formed by dissidents from the already ultra-left NDP (New Democratic Party); they quite the NDP and formed the Waffle...(many, many years ago, I have to admit, I supported the NDP...) Hatem's "points" have dropped. In the screenshot above, he has 288 ponts, and is in 30,229th "place," and now he has 264 points, and is in 37,771st place and falling. Maybe that has to do with the little fundraising thermometer, just below where the screenshot ends. Hatem has raised $60, from two people. He still has three friends though!

This information along with the fact that Obama served with Ayers on the Board of the Woods Foundation, gives the lie to Obama’s claim that he doesn’t know Ayers very well.
