Obama Calls Bloggers Liars for Accurately Reporting His Words, Goes Back to Eating Waffle

Sat, Apr 26, 2008 at 4:15:29 pm PDT

This is an absolutely blatant attempt to rewrite history by Barack Obama, documented at ABC News Political Punch.

First, I honestly don’t care much whether a person wears a flag pin, and you can certainly be a patriot without wearing a badge proclaiming it. The issue for me: Obama’s reasons for taking off that pin.

Barack Obama on his refusal to wear a flag pin, now:

Obama then referred to the time last October, when a Cedar Rapids, Iowa, TV reporter asked him why he didn’t wear a flag pin.

“Then I was asked about this in Iowa,” Obama said. “And somebody said ‘Why don’t you wear a flag pin?’ I said, well, sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. I said, although I will say that sometimes I notice that they’re people who wear flag pins but they don’t always act patriotic. And I was specifically referring to politicians, not individuals who wear flag pins, but politicians who you see wearing flag pins and then vote against funding for veterans, saying we can’t afford it.”

Barack Obama on his refusal to wear a flag pin, then:

(What Obama said last October was: “You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest. Instead, I’m going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testimony to my patriotism.”)

Obama then proceeds, in a magnificent example of hypocritical chutzpah, to call bloggers who accurately reported his words liars.

Obama continued, saying “so I make this comment. suddenly a bunch of these, you know, TV commentators and bloggers (say) ‘Obama is disrespecting people who wear flag pins.’ Well, that’s just not true. Also, another way of saying it is, it’s a lie.”

Obama’s two radically different versions of his reasons for not wearing the pin are there for you to read. Here’s our post about it at the time. You decide who’s telling the truth.

It is not necessary for a person to wear a flag pin in order to be a patriot. However, most patriots do not make a point of NOT wearing a flag pin and then give millions of excuses for why they do NOT.

BTW - he says sometimes he wears one. Anyone have a photo of that ?

I've been collating videos and dates to make a compliation video of all Senator O's comments on the flag pin. I've put off making it, but now I have three, and possibly four sound bites, each with a different story.

I can see doing this on the Wright issue also, but I cannot bear to listen to Wright over and over and over, which you have to do when you make a video.

"Also, another way of saying it is, it’s a lie." - BHO

This is the first time that I can recall ever being aware that a (manistream?) politician ever publicly called someone (actually, a somewhat identifiable-by-name group of people) a liar.

And (ironically?), this group of people are essentially THe Media, complete with quotes, sources, videos and an activist mentality.

I think that these words will cause very many of Barak Hussein Obama's other statements and actions to come back to haunt him.

John Prine hasn't written a song about the Khmer Rouge killing fields yet, bcause he doesn't care quite as much about that particular "dirty little war."
Prine's lyric fits right in to the mindset that Obama is disseminating, that there is no reason to be proud of America because we're imperfect.
And he has a plan to fix us.

While digesting Reader’s Digest
In the back of a dirty book store
A plastic flag with gum on the back
Fell out on the floor.
Well,I picked it up and ran outside
And slapped it on my windowshield.
And If I could see ol’ Betsy Ross
I’d tell her how good I feel.

But, your flag decal won’t get you
Into Heaven anymore.
They’re already overcrowded
From your dirty little war
Now Jesus don’t like Killin’
No matter what the reasons for.
And your flag decal won’t get you into Heaven anymore.

Reagan supposedly had the "helicopter question" ... reporters would yell questions at him as he got off the helicopter and walked to the White House, and Reagan would yell back "I can't hear you!"

Obama would have "the waffle question" ... reporters would ask him questions and he would say, "Please, let me eat my waffle. And pass the syrup."

"Do you like to fill every depression on the waffle, Mr. President?"

"Would you PLEASE just let me eat my damn waffle!"

Hey Obama here is a song from the Civil War.

Oh, we'll rally round the flag, boys, we'll rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom,
We will rally from the hillside, we'll gather from the plain,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
(Chorus)
The Union forever! Hurrah, boys, hurrah!
Down with the traitor, up with the star;
While we rally round the flag, boys, rally once again,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
We are springing to the call of our brothers gone before,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
And we'll fill our vacant ranks with a million free men more,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
Chorus
We will welcome to our numbers the loyal, true and brave,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
And although he may be poor, not a man shall be a slave,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
Chorus
So we're springing to the call from the East and from the West,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!
And we'll hurl the rebel crew from the land we love best,
Shouting the battle cry of freedom!

Even his supposedly good qualities give me the willies.

She has been at it so long that she has honed her technique and become a caricature, like some stock villain in a tragi-comic play: somewhat humorous--just as long as she remains on the stage (of the Senate). Obama still wants to take himself too seriously; his stage is that of so many lefties who began their performances with idealism but are now inevitably (and in his case too prematurely) trying out for ambition. Not having yet "grown" into his role, his lies are so much more awkward and immediately annoying.

Especially when he's singing the Internationale song of kumbaya, you know he thinks America is broken and he isn't proud of our country's struggle to be the shining city on the hill.

Immigrants leave everything they have to crawl through hellish countries to get here & say God Bless America.

It's dumb not to wear your country's flag on your lapel if you're a politician on tv after 9/11 and during a global war. If as a presidential candidate you're not showing how much you love America and want to serve this country--NOT mold the country to fit your Internationale vision--WHY are you running except to re-educate us?

Obama and Clinton need to follow the advice I gave my four children many years ago as they were growing up:

“Never tell a lie and you’ll never have to remember what you said.”

Daily, we are witness to Obama and Clinton not remembering the lies they spoke in the near or distant past.

When questioned about an apparent lie, they bob, weave, and dance around such that it would make Joe Lewis and Fred Astaire proud of them.

Their retorts are equivalent to Ralf Kramden of TV's The Honey Mooners when he would sheepishly mutter: HUMANA - HUMANA - HUMANA!, when he got caught in a lie.

I would never question anyone's decision not to wear one. You can very much love America without one.

The race card thing is really annoying. Re race, I agree with Dr. King - content of character is the key - not skin color. Senator O could be green with purple stripes, for all I care - I still would not vote for him.

This man was "African American." His parents were Negro (this was a while ago, when Negro was the accepted word). He went to Negro schools. He worked in a Negro business. He was also an activist for civil rights in his day, and he was in a unique position, obviously.

His name is Walter Francis White. He said this in his autobiography: "I am a Negro. My skin is white, my eyes are blue, my hair is blond. The traits of my race are nowhere visible upon me."

Things aren't always what they seem
Milk may masquerade as cream.

I remember reading about the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Activity, after getting a crush on Julian Bond during the Georgia delegate challenge at the 1968 Dem convention (I don't have that crush any more, to say the least). In the 60s, SNCC worked to integrate businesses in Atlanta by walking in where they were not supposed to. Mr. Bond, one of the members, sometimes had to pull out his ID to prove he was Black and get arrested.

Senator Obama is darker than his mom and lighter than his dad. He did not grow up in an African American family at any time. Neither of his parents were African American. He, however, looks the part, doesn't he?

Sharpton vows to 'close this city' after officer acquittals

We strategically know how to stop the city so people stand still and realize that you do not have the right to shoot down unarmed, innocent civilians," Sharpton told an overflow crowd of several hundred people at his National Action Network office in the historically black Manhattan neighborhood. "This city is going to deal with the blood of Sean Bell."
....
The rally at Sharpton's office was followed by a 20-block march down Malcolm X Boulevard and then across 125th Street, Harlem's main business thoroughfare, where some bystanders yelled out "Kill the police!"

Spade Cooley was the Bob Wills of Southern California. His career ended suddenly when he killed his wife in 1961 and went to jail. I remember my folks discussing the case, dad was a big fan.

I was a student at Antelope Valley High School when Spade Cooley got drunk and kicked his wife to death at his ranch near Rosamund. We went around asking other students if they'd heard the Spade Cooley Stomp.

Rev. S - the king of the hissy fit.

For the curious, according to the NYT, this is what happened:

Witnesses told of chaos, screams and a barrage of gunfire near Club Kalua at 143-08 94th Avenue in Jamaica about 4:15 a.m. after Mr. Bell and his friends walked out and got into their car. Mr. Bell drove the car half a block, turned a corner and struck a black unmarked police minivan bearing several plainclothes officers.

Mr. Bell’s car then backed up onto a sidewalk, hit a storefront’s rolled-down protective gate and nearly struck an undercover officer before shooting forward and slamming into the police van again, the police said.

re: #173 infidel Alan

I was a student at Antelope Valley High School when Spade Cooley got drunk and kicked his wife to death at his ranch near Rosamund. We went around asking other students if they'd heard the Spade Cooley Stomp.

From his Wiki:

During the trial Cooley suffered a heart attack while he was delivered his prison sentence. After serving his time for a while, the state of California gave him a temporary release in order to play a benefit concert for the Deputy Sheriffs Association of Alameda County at the Paramount Theater in Oakland. After the performance, he suffered another heart attack in the backstage area. This time it was fatal.

Spade Cooley is the grandfather of Mike Cooley, singer, guitarist, song writer and founding member of the rock band Drive-By Truckers.

Referenced in one of the classic 39 Honeymooners episodes (from Art 'Ed Norton' Carney to Jackie 'Ralph Kramden' Gleason): "They wouldn't-a won that except some guy slipped in a Spade Cooley record."

You know, the truth is that right after 9/11, I had a pin. Shortly after 9/11, particularly because as we’re talking about the Iraq War, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security, I decided I won’t wear that pin on my chest.

So he DID hear Rev. Wright's GD Amerika sermon! And took it to heart.

Good for you. Sad when hippies from the 1960s like Schroeder sell out to make a zillion from Putin, another man who lived in Germany during his KGB days!

Sadly for my half German relatives living in Spain, Zapatero was re-elected recently. And today Spain's cowardly government rewarded Somali pirates to release hostage Spanish fishermen, instead of sending Spain's mighty Armada to finish off the pirates!

Spain's people accepted leftism too fast, they want to be weak and liked by those who threaten them, uber alles.

242 Harry Schell  Sat, Apr 26, 2008 6:18:00pm

Well, the issue has been dealt with above, as to who is the liar.

I could only repeat the words above in arguing my case that Barry O is a Pig from Animal Farm.

He, of all people, will understand what that means, being a tiny-minded little Marxist weenie liar bastard.

And given the grand results of Marxist economics and politics delivering "liberation and equality (of misery, is excluded, that is not what fatuous Karl promised, and even that never happened.)", who can be a Marxist and claim to tell the truth?

Can somebody, anybody, help me with this?

Explain to me how the "revolution" as defined by Marx in the mid 1800's has ever come to passand fulfilled its nominal results. And why should the same mistakes be repeated?

I don't think you can do that without being a liar beyond redemption. Unless you simply emote and ignore the results of what you do.

In that case you are either a sociopath or otherwise so detached from reality that you are a danger to society, if not yourself.

Nurse, I need a pint of Thorazine, stat. We have a beserker here...

257 Nahanni  Sun, Apr 27, 2008 3:26:04am

1. To Barak Obama USMC does not stand for the Marines, it stands for United States Marxist Communists.

2. He is falling into the typical pattern that most Moonbats do when it becomes obvious to even them that the only ones buying their shite is their tin foil hat wearing choir. He starts screeching that everyone except him is lying. The next course of action on the Moonbat flow chart is to either set up a field of strawmen for us to torch or start with their ever popular Ad Hominum attacks.

3. For the Democrats this election is no longer about the Presidency, it is about who controls the party. Already you can see the sides forming up. Howie Dean just switched sides to the Clintonistas with his comments and some in the MSM are now openly worrying about retribution from the Clintons for their worshiping at the altar of Obama.
