When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.

OT.

Just want to post something while changing planes at an airport...

Obama and Wright know exactly what they are doing.

Call it postmodern Potemkinism.

Wright is reiterating what he has said and then added some more (like white brain/ black brain). He has done this to give Obama a fat target to attack. Obama will follow up on the left's call to "disown" the "crazy uncle" and any further criticism of Wright will then be deemed unfair and out of bounds. Meanwhile, Wright can continue to spew his bigotry and keep Obama's Black Cred alive with a wink here and a nod here.

This is all part of "going to the center".

What is stunning about it is that people on the left will buy it. They will be swallowing a cynical propaganda ploy as an authentic event. The people who have a hard time with any assertion of "truth" but find it easy to accuse others of falsehoods will have swallowed the baited hook from their messiah.

What Obama is about to pull off is ethically far worse than anything the left has accused Carl Rove of doing. What a setup. Watch and learn.

Dad was helping me install a water heater once. He's soldering away at the copper pipes and I said, "How in the hell do you know how to do all this stuff?"

He said, "It comes from being poor. You have to learn how to do it, cause you can't afford to pay someone to do it."

What a lesson he taught me. Since that day, I have always made sure I could afford to pay someone to do it.

Love my dad.

Unfortunately for Obama, it doesn't absolve him of the decades he spent listening to Wright and not complaining.

When Sister Souljah told black people that they should stop killing each other, and should get together and kill whitey instead, Bill Clinton attacked her and successfully triangulated himself into the center by doing so. He was able to do this because he hadn't spent the previous twenty years as a Sister Souljah groupie.

And promptly became a bleeding heart liberal who took a blame America first attitude. He is unable to see how much the world has changed around him. I print nearly 5-10 articles a day for him, hoping he'll come back from the dark side. He won't. It's his religion. Funny he can't figure out why I can't see how everything is still the same.

Now, I am not going to put down Louis Farrakhan anymore than Mandela would put down Fidel Castro. Do you remember that Ted Koppel show, where Ted wanted Mandela to put down Castro because Castro was our enemy? And he said, "You don't tell me who my enemies are. You don't tell me who my friends are."

Louis Farrakhan is not my enemy. He did not put me in chains. He did not put me in slavery. And he didn't make me this color.

At that point he was also ostensibly homeless, wandering from thing to thing, doing drugs and drinking and therefore was of no help to my situation. I didn't even see him for years during that time.

He had been forced to retire from the NYPD and lost his family in the same year.

He had lost his entire identity and he was younger than I am now.
He was lost.
He never really came back from that.

Many times over the years it was always me pulling him back.
Over and over and over again. Against his will....
He consistently sinks back into the depths again.
He is not abusing any drugs or booze now... it is his state of mind that destroys him.

I don't know how he did it, but Charles just totally spooked me out. My father (z"l) died on April 29, 1991.

MY FATHER'S EYES

On my wall are framed pictures of the people who are no longer there. I have the family portrait, with my serious-looking relatives with expressions that would defy anyone to say they never existed. There is my aunt Sarah looking so cosmopolitan in her stylish hat and collar. My uncle Daniel, as handsome as any Hollywood movie star, in his army uniform. And I look at them often, knowing that if I look hard and long enough I will see my own eyes, my wide cheekbones, the wry smile.

Who do I look like? I look like them all. Sometimes when I look in the mirror I am surprised to see someone else's face. Today I'm Roslyn; tomorrow I'm Margaret, the next day I am my Aunt Irene. But there is always my father's eyes gazing back at me, clear and blue...

Every day, Popper. Every.single.day.

Not so much of a joke though, is it? Reminds me of a friend of one of my daughters during the high school years. Nice boy - then at least. Mom was a high-powered sales manager for one of the biggest car dealerships in the state, Dad was a high muckety-muck in the state police. The two boys had everything money could buy, but almost never any attention and even more rarely anything that passed for a meal outside of a restaurant. He would come for the weekend. Saturday mornings I make pancakes - all the kids can eat. Ye gods that boy could eat and eat and eat and eat. You would have thought I was feeding him gold or something. . . . .. . poor kid, the minute he got free of that house he went to hell in the proverbial hand cart in some misguided effort to rub daddy's nose in it.

The Irish are looking at the Lisbon Treaty, i.e. EU Constitution.

Ó Caoláin said that prime minister Dermot Ahern and minister of state Dick Roche had specialised in this line. Yet, he said, "France and the Netherlands rejected the EU Constitution in 2005. They didn't lose influence or standing in the EU and nor would this State if we did likewise." He added: "The purpose of a referendum is for the citizens of a member state to freely and democratically decide on the matter at hand. As democrats we must all, including our EU partners, respect the outcome of the referendum. Attempts to bully or bribe us into voting a particular way are undemocratic," then declaring: "The attempts by the political elite in Ireland and in Brussels to deceive the people have gone well beyond rhetoric."

Go Irish.

HONKY RACISM is just the other side of the same coin as BLACK RACISM

What I can't believe is him spouting that old social Darwinism crap that has been completely discredited for decades about blacks having different brains than whites do. To accept that means that many of the "injustices" of segregation have some valid basis. That very idea goes some way towards validating some of the excuses put forth for the Holocaust. Unbelievable from someone who rails against all the perceived "injustices" he claims to have had done to him.

Good morning,

The Irish are looking at the Lisbon Treaty, i.e. EU Constitution.

Go Irish.

Way to go Irish! About time somebody stood up to these unelected bureaucraps of the EU.

But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years

But if that's how our kids feel then why is it then that the older I get the less I know?

Wright has got to be at least 70% white. Self loathing plays a large part in his shtick.

Which reminds me of an old non-PC Indian joke..

The more people look at the treaty, the less they vote for it.

Very few people can stand up
Very few people will stand up
I don't care if no one stands with me.
I don't care if I am the last one.

But I am not.

I am writing you from Israel after having an emergency meeting with former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, whom I have known since he was 26 years old. I was horrified to learn that when President Bush comes to Israel for its 60th Anniversary in May, he has made the decision to mobilize Arab nations to come for a summit on the 17th &18th of May.

The purpose of this summit is to move forward with the Annapolis Road Map, the plan that will force Israel to give up a large percentage of Judea and Samaria, which they call occupied territories, and divide the Holy City of Jerusalem.

It is extremely humiliating to think this would be America’s way of honoring Israel’s 60th year of prophetic rebirth. Even more outrageous, I saw the document confirming that the plan is to have this finalized by November 12, 2008.

I am asking you to vote and let President Bush know that you oppose him organizing a summit to divide Jerusalem on Israel’s 60th Anniversary. He needs to hear from you loudly and clearly immediately.

Send this to all of your friends and ask them to do the same. God’s words say that I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee.

Your Ambassador to Jerusalem,

Mike Evans

Unfortunately, the EUnuchs are patient, which is designed to work beautifully alongside European fatalism.
