RetweetLotta Hate in the Room at Fark.com

Tue, Apr 29, 2008 at 3:12:28 pm PDT

Why are they hatin’ on us so hard at Fark? They’re even posting that laughable years-old hack job by “Dr. Menlo” again (Late German Fascists — get it?) FARK.com: DNC hits rock bottom, continues to dig.

It’s amusing to see them rant and throw tantrums every time an LGF link appears there. (And due to our recent server tuneups, the traffic didn’t even make us hiccup this time...)

Charles,

given your recent tweaks and upgrades, it seems that the hamsters are hardly breaking a sweat, even under a farkstorm.

So, as any environmentally-aware lizard would conclude: your server is now using too much electric power for the job... time to downgrade to something running on a 6502 at say, 1MHZ.

Apple ][ anyone ?

Going to Kos and now Fark makes me appreciate how EASY it is to follow LGF posters comments. I find those sites to be a little confusing.

17 Silhouette  Tue, Apr 29, 2008 3:20:06pm

Dear Fark readers,

I confess I do not visit your site and have little idea of what you stand for, but I do know the other kinds of people that hate, just hate littlegreenfootballs.

You are in company with jihadists, nazis, communists and other groups associated with religious, racial, or political world domination. Any time one finds oneself with similar dislikes and goals as those people, perhaps it is time to rethink your life.

In Christ's Love,
Silhouette

I loved my dear old Apple ][. I knew what every one of its 64 kilobytes was up to at all times. And I wrote my own machine language routines, without an assembler.

Who knows what the hell computers are doing any more? I have to ask for permission to turn mine off now.

21 DesertSage  Tue, Apr 29, 2008 3:20:55pm

FARK has really taken a turn to the Left dark side.
They used to have some sensible people posting there, a little more mainstream...middle of the road.

But they've all gone nuts lately!

If the MSM isn't reporting that Bush is personally killing asthmatic orphans, but is "only" reporting that "critics say" that there are one million dead Iraqi citizens, then by their world view, that is right-leaning propaganda.

A 4 year old does have a political creed, which is strikingly similar to liberals.

Toddler's Creed

Speaking of that bozoid Al Franken:

Stuart Smalley's Daily Affirmations for the Inner Pirate

Monday:
"I'm going to rape and pillage today just for the heck of it because, gosh darn it, I deserve to have a good time."

Tuesday:
"I am not a fraud, a thief yes, but not a fraud."

Wednesday:
"I deserve all the loot and booty I can carry without feeling ashamed or being grandiose."

Thursday:
"I will express my feelings today. I will not hide them behind my eyepatch. My eyepatch is not a mask for my feelings, but rather a small swatch of leather that covers a hideous scar."

Friday:
"When I overtake that merchants vessel, I will not be playing those parent tapes in my head: "You wield a cutlass like a girl" . . . "Why can't you be more like Blackbeard's son?" . . . "Philosophy? What kind of major is that? It's useless!"

Saturday:
"Just because I indulge in wine and wenches does not mean I'm an alcoholic sex-addict like my father."

Sunday:
"If I must violently put down a mutiny today, it is not because I am a bad person or that I am not worthy of love; it is because my crew are a bunch of yellow-bellied, lily-livered sons-of-whores--and I am mean enough, ruthless enough, and dog gone it, people fear me."

Remind me to send a thank you note to Rev. Wright sometime. He has managed to be the albatross around Obama's neck. First he pissed off all the smart people, then he pissed off all the white folks, now Obama throwing him under the bus is going to piss off a lot of black folks. Overall, he has show what Obama truly is; a hack politician with little experience and a very leftest bent.

I loved my dear old Apple ][. I knew what every one of its 64 kilobytes was up to at all times. And I wrote my own machine language routines, without an assembler.

Who knows what the hell computers are doing any more? I have to ask for permission to turn mine off now.

Let's go back further. I have a PDP-8e. No peripherals. I have to toggle programs in binary on the front panel.

Too bad he didn't pick up any middle of the road fence sitters along the way. Cautious folk shy away from controversies like this. I bet a good number of them made up their minds today to vote for Hillary.

LGF: So "fascist" the fascists hate us!

(if you don't get it...see the Bill White threads)

Btw: isn't it a bit odd that they call LGF "Fascist" when we are hated by the actual fascists (Bill White), and it is the KOS/DU/HP/Lefist crowds that the actual fascists (David Duke) agree with and like?

Forget ideological whiplash...I'm getting fact whiplash.

Speaking of whiplash, are all the Obamatons that defended Rev Wright and said he was right to hate America and justified in anti-white feelings going to stick with their views, or will they suddenly be "outraged" by the “appalling”, “ridiculous”, "divisive" and "destructive" "rants"? Wright's actual threat was "around the end of the year," or something like that, right? If BHO gets the nomination, than I predict the Reverend comes down with a serious case of writer's block. That would be far too clever. Obama swam in this swamp his whole life. He's a born and bred leftist with a big dose of bitter grievance Black Liberation Theology on top. What Wright said seemed perfectly acceptable to him. After all, he sat in his pews breathing it in for 20 years. Remember how Obama defended Wright at first? He really didn't see how rotten, and damaging, the whole thing is. Only when he saw the polling numbers did he realize what happened.

Published: 04.30.08, 00:21 / Israel News
Russia could soon finish its 15-year-old bid to join the World Trade Organization and, "at the appropriate time," the White House will ask Congress to approve permanent normal trade relations, a senior US diplomat said on Tuesday.
"Right now, the priority is very much on WTO accession ... and, inshallah, that can and should happen in the near term," said Reuben Jeffery, under secretary of state for economic, energy and agricultural affairs. (Reuters)

Not so. It's to make BHO look like he is truly bringing change to the process. He is not a DIVIDER, but wants to bring ALL under his wing.

In my opinion, what a smart turn on his part. Instead of catering to Wright's shade of black politics/theology, it now appears that BHO is really a UNITER.

BHO didn't go to that church for 20 years, work on the kinds of commitees and project that he did in Chicago, and read and study so much about "social" topics just to suddenly, today, in one half hour, chuck that all out the door.

No, he's playing this for all it's worth. I'm not saying it's going to fool anyone in the long run, but let's see how this shakes out in the next few weeks.

Once again, IMHO.

I suppose "inshallah" is an allusion to this:

To complete the accession process, Russia still must reach bilateral deals with Georgia and Saudi Arabia...

I guess both the Bush adminstration and Russia are sucking up to the Saudis, in order to try to get Russia into the WTO. Fortunately the Bush administration has a massive sucking-up-to-the-Saudis apparatus already in place, so this should go pretty smoothly.

I posted this late (too) last thread. Here it is again

Three lizards and three koz kids were at the train station about to embark on a trip. After purchasing their tickets, the koz kids noticed that the lizards had bought only one ticket.
"How are all three of you lizards gonna travel on one ticket ?" they asked. "Watch and be educated." replied one of the lizards.
After boarding the train and taking seats, The koz kids witnessed the three lizards enter the rest room together. As the train left the station, the conductor proceeded through the car collecting the tickets. When he reached the rest room, he knocked on the door and said "ticket please". The door opened just a crack and a ticket protruded through. "Thank you" said the conductor as he proceeded to the next car.
That evening the two groups were back at the station for the return trip. The koz kids, having learned from the lizards, bought only one ticket but noticed that the lizards had not purchased a ticket at all.
"How are the three of you going to travel with no ticket?" the koz kids asked. "Watch and be educated." a lizard replied.
Upon boarding the train each group entered seperate rest rooms and locked the doors. After about thirty seconds had passed a lizard exited his rest room , ran to the koz kids rest room, knocked on the door and asked, "Ticket please". The door opened a crack and a ticket appeared.

re: #164 Walter L. Newton

That is an interesting theory. I think the only version of the theory I might believe is one in which BHO's focus groups assessed the reaction to his slimy Philadelphia speech, and concluded it wasn't as effective as it needed to be. Therefore, they decided, Wright needed to place himself in front of the bus, so that BHO could throw him under it.

I'm not sure I buy it though. For one thing, it seems like Obama's slimy speech actually went over pretty well. If BHO really has control over what Wright says and does, the best thing for BHO would have been to have Wright simply shut up until after the election. The strange thing about Fark is that it is supposed to be simply a funny link site filled with stories about weird sex, weird crime, weird people etc.
Whenever I post a Conservative, pro American comment (under a different name) I get accused of being a troll. I am constantly telling my accusers that Fark is not Daily Kos, it is not a Liberal political site that I am crashing with my opposing views. My views are just as valid as their views.

Anti-Evolution Film Misappropriates the Holocaust

The film Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed misappropriates the Holocaust and its imagery as a part of its political effort to discredit the scientific community which rejects so-called intelligent design theory.

Hitler did not need Darwin to devise his heinous plan to exterminate the Jewish people and Darwin and evolutionary theory cannot explain Hitler's genocidal madness.

Using the Holocaust in order to tarnish those who promote the theory of evolution is outrageous and trivializes the complex factors that led to the mass extermination of European Jewry

re: #175 Last Mohican

That is an interesting theory. I think the only version of the theory I might believe is one in which BHO's focus groups assessed the reaction to his slimy Philadelphia speech, and concluded it wasn't as effective as it needed to be. Therefore, they decided, Wright needed to place himself in front of the bus, so that BHO could throw him under it.

I'm not sure I buy it though. For one thing, it seems like Obama's slimy speech actually went over pretty well. If BHO really has control over what Wright says and does, the best thing for BHO would have been to have Wright simply shut up until after the election. Wasn't that the purpose of having Wright retire when he did?

Nope. The Pa. speech didn't stop anything. Even the MSM was still talking about Wright after BHO's first speech. I really think this was a two step plan, to be carried out, only if the public became too aware of BHO's and Wright's association in the first place.

As I have said a number of times above, I'm waiting to see the spin that the Obama-nation puts on this in the next few weeks.

Let's see, I may be wrong, even if I'm (w)right, I guess we'll never know for sure, but we can gauge the outcome.

Saw this on BotW today -- amazing story, really:

The Pakistani newspaper Dawn reports that Bahrain, a tiny Persian Gulf kingdom, "is nominating a Jewish woman as its ambassador to the United States":

Huda Nonoo, a businesswoman, was also the first Jewish woman to sit in the Bahriani Shura Council, the 40-member upper house of the bicameral legislature, replacing her uncle.

She is also the first Jewish woman to head a rights organisation, the Bahrain Human Rights Watch, as its secretary-general. . . .

Huda Nonoo belongs to a tiny Jewish community in Bahrain, dating back to the Talmudic era. Her forefathers migrated from Iraq in the late 19th century.

Amazing, a Jewish woman serving as ambassador for an Arab Muslim country. Only in America!

What anti-evolution film? There hasn't been an anti-evolution film in a long time that I'm aware of.

It's simpler than that:

Rule: The right is to be demonized, and everything said or done by the right is evil.

Rule: The left is to be exalted, and everything said or done by the left is good.

Corollary: the right is whoever we define it to be at any given moment, as dictated by the needs of the moment.

I'm a Total Farkette there (which means I pay for additional content), and while I tend to enjoy the comment threads on about 90% of the posts, I usually avoid the political ones. There are too many people on there who have drunk the Kool Aid and equate America with Nazi Germany. They know very little of sites other than the left-wing usual suspects, and they fear Christians and the "right wing" more than they do, you know, actual terrorists. Those threads also tend to be where all the international Farkers show up, too (the ones who get all their information from the BBC).

Even the threads that focus on racism or sexism, obnoxious though they can be at times, are usually still tolerable (not least because there are plenty of feisty commenters who will show up to argue with the brainless). But the political threads tend to be totally one-sided.

Hit and run post - sorry - but a surprising number of the comments at Fark (at least on the first page, didn't have the time or inclination to try to read them all) are more or less sane. That is, they say things like "it's one thing to show soldiers being blown up and dying on the nightly news, this is a political ad and it is tastless and make 'us' just as bad as them." or something to that effect.

I was also amused at the number of commenters there who said they wouldn't come to LGF OR to Kos or Huffington for the same reason: just mad dog political partisanship. Oh, and don't go to LGF cause that's going to drive up our hit count and make a ton more money for LGF.

Many of these folks are seriously disturbed people; some of them are surprisingly sane.

Great job Charles, as usual.

Wonder if any of us have the time to send this to O'Reilly, Fox News, Hannity and ABC News (which of late seems to be showing some minor signs of becoming "journalistic"). I can't unfortunately, but I hope some of you can and will.

Kind of sad. I still love Fark -- awesome headlines, but yeah, the lefties are coming in and slowly turning it into a political show. It used to be funny headlines and stories, unfortunatelt, it's become more political and is lurching to the left.

For those who don't understand why the BHO and Wright thing was done, it is a variation on the theme presented earlier.

By letting Wright out now, to make all the noise and fuss at this time, when the general election comes around, they can pull a "Clinton" and say, "That's old news. We already addressed it."

The media, sensing the teflon moment will wholeheartedly agree, KOS will say, "Yeah!" and we'll hear nothing about it after Obamessiah's christening as the new lord and savior of the godless party.

It never fails, at every lefty blog I've ever seen every time there is something about Iraq or 9/11 there's always some idiot saying bullshit like "Bush won the election by fearmongering". Tell me, what is the price of a cluebat nowadays because I'm going to break it over someones head one of these days if they don't stop with the bullshit.
