100,000 Expected for LA May Day Demonstrations

Thu, May 1, 2008 at 10:08:44 am PDT

It’s difficult not to be a bit worried about this planned demonstration in Los Angeles, with more than 100,000 demonstrators expected (including a large contingent of La Raza/Aztlan agitators): It’s May Day, which means marches, and a lot of roads are closed.

UPDATE at 5/1/08 6:33:25 pm:

Thankfully, there were no disturbances.

Just walked through Union Square here in NYC. There is a huge banner that reads something like "Workers Rights are Illegal Workers Rights" and there were about 150 people waving flags. The place was FLOODED with Police, literally like a cop every 5 feet. But everything at the moment was more or less peaceful and quiet.

So, a May Day protest is to show solidarity with union workers. Unions normally represent low wage workers. The same workers who are afraid of losing their jobs to illegal immigrants. Now May Day parades are to show support for illegal immigrants.

When some figues this out, please let me know.

It's May Day- Communist Day- so what are they people really celebrating? Let's take a look:

Communist Body Count: 149,469,610

#1- China: Body Count: 73,237,000
#2- USSR:Body Count: 58,627,000
#3- Russian Soviets: Body Count: 3,284,000
#4- North Korea: Body Count: 3,163,000
#5- Cambodia: Body Count: 2,627,000

People who celebrate this ideology are celebrating mass murder.

29 CheDub  Thu, May 1, 2008 10:19:38am

I went to one of the protests last year wearing a shirt with the flag of Argentina. Suprisingly, I was not well recepted. Apparently the Mexicans have no love of Argentines, or at least for those whose ancestors came here legally.

That's why they are so angry. It's hard to balance, justify, and explain so many competing notions of means justified by the end.

When you start pulling at a single card in their ideological house of cards, they know, deep down, that allowing that single card to be removed, the whole thing collapses. They mentally are not prepared for the critical examination that would follow.

Hence the anger.

I don't think they have much conflict because they have a hierchy. Destruction of the US trumps anti-business feelings, so unlimited immigration wins.

Death trumps concern over victimized groups, so unrestricted abortion wins. Besides, concern for those groups were mostly faked to further agendas.

And the last is the easiest. They have no problem living off the fruit of capitalism while they plot its downfall.

Serious question. Just how far does the left have to push, before the middle and right start pushing back?

One of the challenges that good always faces when fighting evil is that it is in good's nature to wait too long to confront evil. Good will still persevere, but the cost is always more than it would be if confronted earlier.

One of the funniest things about these marxists is that everyone of them thinks they are in the .0001% of the population who will run things. Yes it is. Unfortunately, the majority of the good are still willing to wait in order to be certain that they are facing evil.

The cost today is higher than it was yesterday, but less than it will be if we act tomorrow. My fear is that there will be a point where we've crossed the Rubicon - and would be too outnumbered to overcome evil. I don't know where that point will be or if it exists, but that is my worry.

The root difference between the Conservatives and the Liberals of today is that Conservatives take account of the whole man, while the Liberals tend to look only at the material side of man's nature. The Conservative believes that man is, in part, an economic; an animal creature; but that he is also a spiritual creature with spiritual needs and spiritual desires. What is more, these needs and desires reflect the superior side of man's nature and thus take precedence over his economic wants. Conservatism therefore looks upon the enhancement of man's spiritual nature as the primary concern of political philosophy. Liberals, on the other hand,--in the name of a concern for "human beings"--regard the satisfaction of economic wants as the dominant mission of society. They are, moreover, in a hurry. So that their characteristic approach is to harness the society's political and economic forces into a collective effort to compel "progress." In this approach, I believe they fight against Nature.

Joe Bob responded, using his down-home persona: "I think y'all would be a lot less angy if you just shortened your names and lay together nekkid in a pile!"

Similar advice could be dispensed to today's grievance-mongers. Forget about the Cause-of-the-Week, and just celebrate the high season of Spring with a big orgy somewhere. Just not in the city streets, k?

So, what's the value added of Aztlan to anyone?

Human sacrifices and skin flaying? Of everyone ELSE, not your own group? Are they like, admitting the Aztecs were hegemonic empire-builders who ranged all over the region subduing the local tribes? With human sacrifices running into the hundreds per day on the bigh holidays, seems the Aztecs pretty much decimated the populations in the areas they ranged into, leaving few or nobody behind, force marching their captives back to (what is now) Mexico City ... meaning open land ... meaning ... what are they talking about, now?

Yup. Prohibition, and the mass-production uniformity of WWII and afterwards, ruined American beermaking for decades. Fortunately, we've spent the last 20-odd years rediscovering our brewing traditions, and now you can get all sorts of great local microbrews across the country. Bud and similar fare still seem to rule the roost, though.

I'm sure someone else has pointed this out above, but it never ceases to amaze me how the police are so casually slandered by the media. From the above article:

"While most of the attention will be focused on the marchers, the LAPD will also be under a great deal of scrutiny today after last year's mostly peaceful event ended with riot police beating journalists and demonstrators in MacArthur Park"

So, we have the implication that the police acted in a violent, fascist manner.

The very next sentence, and the only other one in the paragraph:

"The beatings, captured on television cameras, took place as the police were trying to clear the park after 20 to 30 people starting throwing rocks and bottles."

Unfriggin' believable. I've often wondered how police unions could be in the same political camp as those who loathe them so very, very much.

re: #241 redc1c4

until they added the gun..... (F4-E?)

We're both on the right track:

[Wikipedia]
The F-4's biggest weakness, as it was initially designed, was its lack of an internal cannon. For a brief period, doctrine held that turning combat would be impossible at supersonic speeds and little effort was made to teach pilots air combat maneuvering. In reality, engagements quickly became subsonic. Furthermore, the relatively new heat-seeking and radar-guided missiles at the time were frequently reported as unreliable and pilots had to use multiple shots just to hit one target. To compound the problem, rules of engagement in Vietnam precluded long-range missile attacks in most instances, as visual identification was normally required. Many pilots found themselves on the tail of an enemy aircraft but too close to fire short-range Falcons or Sidewinders. Although in 1967 USAF F-4Cs began carrying SUU-16 or SUU-23 external gunpods containing a 20 millimeter M61 Vulcan Gatling cannon, USAF cockpits were not equipped with lead-computing gunsights, virtually assuring a miss in a maneuvering fight. Some Marine Corps aircraft carried two pods for strafing. In addition to the loss of performance due to drag, combat showed the externally mounted cannon to be inaccurate, yet far more cost-effective than missiles. The lack of cannon was finally addressed by adding an internally mounted 20 millimeter M61 Vulcan on the F-4E.[40]

There's an illegal war going on and it's getting harder to lose it.
The 'undocumented' immigrants are getting held back by The Man.
People are making money from others that should get to keep it.
Barack Obama the Messiah is back sliding in the polls.
The economy is just about almost really truly in a recession.
AND IT'S ALL W's FAULT!

/Wow, it's harder to channel moonbat than I thought.

that's exactly why the AF hated it....Navy pilots hated it because the stubby wings made it hell on the flight deck..

The F-8 could fly rings around the F-4, from what I'd heard years ago, from old F-8 engineers.

Sometimes after a time at the wrong lat./lon. picking potatoes out of the peoples woods we would take 4 / 5 cases of beer from our up high area ,Monkey Mountain, down to the valley below , to the end of Da Nang Air Base, and lay down flat of our backs look up and watch the twin afterburners of the F-4's as they did the up, up, and away,

and all of it a taxfree night on the town.

Very cool, tfk.

I don't care -I am going to get an ice cream cone and eat it outside- to celebrate the beginning of warm weather. I will salute the capitalist pigs who tore down a dead zone and built a really nice "walking street" where I can get an ice cream cone, coffee, buy books, shoes, bakery items, eat lots of different food, go to the movies, and work out(ok, I don't work out there- but I could!)

My wife, at the time an Air Force Brat (17 years old), said that the Okinawans were having a protest march outside the Main Gate of Kadena, and an F4 did a low-level pass (less than 50 feet!) over the crowd's heads and then stood it on its tail and kicked in the AB's. Did a right good job of breaking up the protest...

No way on God's Green Earth they'd do that today!

Does anyone know what the word allah reallyy means ?

Yes- the word "Ilah" means god, "al" is an article akin to "the", so allah is "the god". So when you see a translation of the shahadah (La ilah illa allah) as being "there is no god but God", it is simply untrue. The shahadah should be properly translated as, "there is no god but allah". mohammed subscribed Him a name- a generic one. Here's more on the origin of "allah".

I read something the other day that the JSF is about dead in the water...I'll look for the linky. Really, I hope so. they've tried that joint fighter crap before (F-4) and everybody was pissed off...end the end no one was happy...

Nothing about that here where I work, the manufacturer of the Communications, Navigation, and Identification (CNI) systems and significant portions of the airframe for the F-35. The program is on track and currently in the Low Rate Initial Production (LRIP) phase. So at this point, killing the program means you have spent all of your development money (about half of the total program cost), have to spend more money to pay your contractual obligations to your contractors to shut down the program, and have no replacement available for at least 15 or maybe 20 years, which BTW will have to be made by the very contractors that you screwed by shutting down your current option in the first place. Restarting production on older fighters is not a cost effective option either, as you would be paying as much to do that as you would to continue with the F-35. You're going to see a lot of F-35s flying for a very long time, and my software will be on every single one of them. (At least until they replace the CNI systems in 10 or 20 years.)

They don't have parades like that here in Oklahoma. In fact, on the "Illegals Strike!" day a year or so ago, when 'undocumented workers' were not supposed to show up to work, 1 restaurant in my area was closed that day.

Within a few months, it was out of business and replaced by another restaurant.

Yes, after the first big wave of protests, where they were all waving the flags of the countries where they are legal, the reaction of the average Joe watching on his TV was different than they guessed. By the next set of protests, they had been coached to bring the US Flag.

re: #201 wanumba

So, what's the value added of Aztlan to anyone?

Human sacrifices and skin flaying? Of everyone ELSE, not your own group? Are they like, admitting the Aztecs were hegemonic empire-builders who ranged all over the region subduing the local tribes? With human sacrifices running into the hundreds per day on the bigh holidays, seems the Aztecs pretty much decimated the populations in the areas they ranged into, leaving few or nobody behind, force marching their captives back to (what is now) Mexico City ... meaning open land ... meaning ... what are they talking about, now?

The Denver Museum of Science and Nature (or is it Nature and Science?) had a huge exhibition of the indigenous people of Mexico a few years back. There were wall-sized murals of the Aztecs and the pyramids in what is now Mexico City with the human sacrifices on the top. Mexicans here had a gigantic fit trying to get the museum to take down the murals. Demonstrations, letters to the papers, the whole nine yards. They weren't denying the truth of the presentation, though. Facts are facts, much to their dismay. The museum didn't cave in. I wonder if they would today.

Here's a piece I wrote for the massive 2006 May Day Illegal Alien march. It's a bit dated by events, but completely relevant today.

Communist May Day Celebrated by Millions in American Cities

Never mind the actual issue most Americans are considering; illegal immigration. Put that aside for a moment and look instead at something in the background of Today's events. Real Power.

The demonstrations, scheduled for the first day of May, are a show of force by the still very healthy international Communists. Through groups like International A.N.S.W.E.R., the global Communist movement captures the energy of any center-to-left political faction and perverts it for the purposes of the Communists.

Why on earth would a protest about illegal immigration from Mexico be held on May first, when the fifth of May is so close? May fifth in Spanish is Cinco de Mayo, which is Mexican Independence Day. It would make much more sense for millions of people from Mexico to take the fifth as a holiday. Why would they march on the first instead?

May first is the biggest holiday of the Communist faith. It is Christmas and Hanukkah combined, and in Communist countries, there is a month-long Ramadan of feverish factory activity which consumes most of April, in preparation for "May Day", the holiday dedicated to Workers of the World. April is marked by much exhortation of the proletariat to ever-greater production, in order to have something to celebrate on May Day. Hallelujah, Comrade.

This scheduling detail regarding the first vice the fifth of May is a show of force by the Communists who run the "incubators" of supposedly grassroots movements. The very name "Common Cause" admits the co-optive nature of that organization. The "answer" in "International A.N.S.W.E.R" stands for "Act Now to Stop War and End Racism. This is a clear example of casting a wide net in order to claim a common cause.

In what I could call Phase I of the (New, Post-Soviet) COMINTERN American Operation, these incubators contact other movements and provide training and financial support. Somebody dispute me on this. The smaller movements are invited to join massive marches to show Solidarity, demonstrate Common Cause, and enjoy the publicity benefits which smaller events will not bring.

But notice that whenever a massive protest is held in America, there always seems to be an uninvited guest: Communism. Of course, the Commies are welcome at any table set by the American Left, but when was the last time you saw Communism or its financial underpinning Socialism mentioned in the publicity for any of these events? Gold Star Mothers for Peace and the Dictatorship of the Proletariat--and the Destruction of Israel. A Day Without Immigrants, or Jews for that matter, you Zio-Capitalist Pigs.

A year ago, I would have confidently surmised that we would never see Communist or Socialist sentiment expressed openly in the publicity surrounding a demonstration or other sort of mass event. Rally, even. Now however, I am grateful I said no such thing, for I feel quite certain that we will see the International Communist movement switch smoothly into Phase II of the American Operation--manifestly Communist demonstrations, and I give it one year from the date of this blog post.

We are winning the battle in Iraq, and we are losing the war at home.

Today's marches in various cities are a show of force. This is a demonstration that leadership of these organizations large and small are either populated or controlled by Communists to such a degree that they can move millions of Mexicans to stay away from work on May Day, but work straight through Cinco de Mayo.

That is real power.

I want to know why ICE does not go to these rallies and check immigration status and make arrests. It would make there job a whole lot easier and it would diminish these protests by criminals.

Would they ignore it if Al Qaeda held a protest led by OBL down nay mainstreet in any town? Would they ignore it if cartel members marche ddown the street to protest the arrests of their pusher? I don't think so. So why do they ignore illegal aliens marching on our streets demanding rights they have not earned? Just one more thing to thank the Liberals for.

298 eclectic infidel  Fri, May 2, 2008 6:59:52pm

Ah yes. I'm late in the game on this thread but I'd like to report on what I saw in San Francisco. I saw Communists, Anarchists, and a plethora of pro-Amnesty folk. Code Pink(o) was there, though in small numbers. I only saw one sign in Arabic, and it was against the Iraq war - I am assuming this mind you, I can't read Arabic but the sign had both Arabic and English and in English, it read something to the effect of "Anti-Iraq War"[sic].

The police did a great job with containment. At one point, I needed to cross the street, so I walked through the crazies to the other side and I was stopped by two officers. I simply smiled and said, "Hi. I just got off work and I'm heading home. I'm not with these crazies." I watched the muscles in their faces relax, one smiled and backed off, allowing me to cross to the other block to begin my journey home.
