'Gang of girls 'blew up house with home-made bomb over row about boy'

A gang of teenage girls may have blown up a house with a home-made liquid bomb, which killed a man in a neighbouring property, after arguing with another girl about a love rival.

Purple liquid was poured through the letterbox of the Victorian house before an explosion destroyed three houses.

Their intended victim, Charlotte Anderson, was caught in the blast and was rushed to intensive care suffering with severe burns.

Ten hours earlier Miss Anderson had phoned police to say a gang of girls aged 16 and 17 was causing trouble outside her home, in Harrow. They were directing abuse, about a boy, at Miss Anderson's ground floor flat.

Witnesses said they saw someone pouring a "purple, smelly liquid" through the letterbox of the house.

Experts say the liquid could have vaporized and caused the explosion, which killed Emad Qureshi, 26, who was at home with his parents in a neighbouring house at the time of the blast.

He was crushed to death by falling rubble.

Miss Anderson was pulled from her wrecked flat by a neighbour and she was rushed to hospital, where her condition was described as "non life-threatening".

My wife grew up in Kitchener, Ontario and there is a house up there that Al Capone owned. He used to hide out there when the G-Men raided his operations in Detroit.

I was in Philadelphia. The Wawas are collecting for the family of the murdered police officer- and almost everyone I saw put something in the big jar.

The 7-11 in Bensalem(a philly burb) had a sign on the door showing three drawings of guys in ski mask , a surgical mask and some other face covering. The sign said they could(or would) refuse service to anyone wearing any sort of face covering. No drawing of a burka or chador but I guess they can turn them away too. This was not a sign this store had but a printed one made so perhaps all the 7-11s have them. I will check mine tomorrow(far from Philly). I don't know if this is new-I haven't been to that 7-11 in some time. I also was more alert to it because of the murder and the murderers' face coverings.

And while I haven't brought this up before- can I say without being banned that I strongly believe in the death penalty?

I find eating pizza followed by ice cream can create a poisonous gas. Before Sadaam was caught, it was suggested I eat that meal and sit on the vent to his bunker.
