Massive Terror Attack in West India

Tue, May 13, 2008 at 3:31:23 pm PDT

Police report 60 killed by bombs in western India.

NEW DELHI - A series of bombs exploded across the ancient city of Jaipur on Tuesday, killing at least 60 people and transforming busy markets, a jewelry bazaar and a Hindu temple into scenes of carnage.

All seven blasts were within the old walls of the western city known for its pink-hued palaces, and suspicion quickly fell on Islamic militant groups blamed for a string of attacks in India in recent years. Police said an eighth bomb was found and defused by police.

“Obviously, it’s a terrorist” attack, said A.S. Gill, the police chief of Rajasthan, the state where Jaipur is located. “The way it has been done, the attempt was to cause the maximum damage to human life.”

The explosions began around 7:30 p.m. One went off at a market near a temple dedicated to the Hindu monkey god Hanuman. Tuesday is the day of worship set aside for Hanuman, and the temple was crowded with people offering prayers on the way home from work.

Another bomb detonated near the Johari Bazaar, the city’s jewelry market that is a popular destination for tourists. The tourist season ended in March, however, and there were no immediate indication that foreigners had been caught in any of the explosions.

No, chief. It was a militant attack according to AP.

This is too well coordinated to be anybody but Al Qaida, probably working through affiliated groups. Tops on my list are:
HuJI-B or P, LeT, JeM.

Of course, it could be the same guys with a new name. They tend to call themselves different things depending on the geography and the supposed cause.

This comes on the ten year anniversary of India's N test I believe.

The more Muslim terror is directed at India, the closer their relations become with the State of Israel. Israel is now the largest supplier of high tech weapons to India.

Eight serial blasts rocked the city of Jaipur at 7:35 PM on Tuesday evening

60 dead, 200 injured

Injured taken to the Sawai Mann Singh hospital

Blasts at Manas Chowk Police Station area, Johari Bazar, Tripolia Bazar, Badi Choupal, Choti Choupal, Kotwali area

Eighth bomb diffused

The bombs exploded within a span of 12 minutes of each other

Bombs were made of iron ball bearings, alarm clock circuit

Bombs were planted in bicycles

Speculation is rife that this could be the handiwork of Lashkar-e-Toiba, SIMI

SIMI is unlikely, they are all pretty busted up and infiltrated, and mostly rookies / students. This was a veteran attack - just my humble opinion.

The below linked video of the Egyptian food riots shows again that Muslims do not truly care about the welfare of their fellow Muslim (the ummah).

Their oil rich "brethren contribute hardly nothing to preserve life (remember the pitiful amount given to aid their Muslim brothers who suffered in the tsunami?)

The Muslim will, however give generously to take life...of the non-Muslim and Muslim in the "cause of Allah"... that being killing an destruction.

This is too well coordinated for the naxalites, they are more like bandits and thugs, they come in usually with RPG's and guns, shoot up the place, rob people and run.

"The protesters strongly denounced this behavior and considered it a cowardly act and departure from the ethics and traditions of the Palestinian people," a Hamas web site reported.

Protesters accused Fatah of doubting the effectiveness of armed attacks on Israel at all times and hoped that Fatah would soon admit that questioning the place of "resistance" is futile.

Fritzl, who also has seven children with his wife Rosemarie, said he had locked up Elisabeth after she started to "break all the rules" following the onset of puberty.

She went to bars, drank alcohol and smoked, and ran away a couple of times, the 73-year-old said.

"RDX was widely used during World War II, often in explosive mixtures with TNT such as Torpex. RDX was used in one of the first plastic explosives. RDX is believed to have been used in many bomb plots including terrorist plots. It was said to have been used in the Bombay (Mumbai) serial bomb blasts of March 12, 1993 in which more than 300 people were killed and about 1,500 injured. Again, on July 11, 2006, a series of powerful explosions took place on seven suburban railway trains on Mumbai's Western Railway line killing 209 and injuring over 700. The use of RDX by the Islamic terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba in this incident was subsequently confirmed by India's state investigating agencies."

" we didn't recognize the implications of this". What, that here in the US, we love dogs and in this particular case, this was a service dog! If the Muslim student didn't like it- why not do something about him?! Why did this young man with his service dog have to go elsewhere to feel safe?

Anyone see the NYT today(got a free copy)- the cover story shows a girl, a man and something that looks like the grim reaper but with no face. A story about young women in Saudi Arabia and how they embrace their virtual enslavement. I LIKE DOGS, MUSLIMS NOT SO MUCH

The problem with the Islamic religion is that everything revolves around Islamic teachings that are taken to extremes by Islamic activists. Islam teaches dogs are unclean, and so are pigs. The Koran says to cleanse one hands if they touch a dog or pig, not persecute the dog owner. These people are going way beyond what the Koran writes as appropriate. So we see crap like this, and ham disappearing from menu's of schools, and Islamic nurse trainees refusing to wear long surgical gloves. Everything revolves around their extreme interpretation of their asinine religion. Then they threaten to kill everyone else if we don't submit to illogical and just plain crazy ideas. Then they claim how tolerant they are and how intolerant everyone else is.(CAIR) The media prints every accusation as gospel and then provides editorial analysis that the issue is western intolerance to Islam

re: #5 MandyManners

There are no Islamist "militants" in India, only terrorists.

You see, in India, there's a program that teaches women young and old in villages to defend themselves. Someone had up a series of good pictures from that. Women with everything from AKs to vintage Lee-Enfields in .303 British that they knew quite well how to use. A "militant" there would find their AK-waving jihad cut off by a .303 from an SMLE aimed carefully by a grandma.

Thus, terrorists. Against soft, unarmed targets.

183 guy_philly  Tue, May 13, 2008 5:29:50pm

i wish the media would stop admiring the skills of these "bombmakers." Honestly, it is not as if the terrorists are rocket scientists. [OK, here is a confession] I used to make rockets and explosives, and even exploding rockets, as a teen. It's no big deal. Not to give anyone any ideas, but a terrorist attaching wires to a slightly modified made-in-china kitchen product and attaching the other end to a homemade explosive that the average American teen (from my generation) could make in the name of fun and science, is not worthy of granting the title of "Chief bomb-maker."

BTW, i stopped "experimenting" with such devices when a failed experiment flew into a residential neighborhood and thankfully landed in a creek before exploding and spraying metal shrapnel in all directions. My friend and i pedaled our bikes over to make sure nobody was hurt and saw several neighborhood kids examining the scene and talking about the big explosion. We just said , "really?" I am so very thankful that did not hurt anyone!

Deadly bombings in India have "hallmarks of an al Qaeda operation"

Eight bombs were detonated today in Jaipur, India, killing at least 60 people and injuring at least 200. A ninth bomb was found and disarmed by Indian authorities.

The blasts occurred within a dozen minutes of each other, according to the Times of India. Indian authorities have said that early evidence points to the terrorist attacks being the work of the Bangladesh-based al Qaeda affiliate Harkat ul Jihad al Islami, or "HuJI-B."

The global jihad is not limited to "Jews and Crusaders". Hindus (in India) and Buddhists (in southern Thailand) have territories that are needed for the global khilafa, and these are people who are not of the Abrahamic faith and are therefore eligible to be murdered mercilessly, with 72 virgins in heaven as a reward.

If we ban the word "jihad", and if we ban all that is associated with it, we will fail to understand what is going on. We will not influence moderate Muslims by blinding ourselves to what is going on, but we will be unable to act rationally in our own interest if we are incapable of thinking appropriately about the problem.

Just for the sake of it - who came up with the moniker Stan? I know it could be a typo - you missing the a but, was that it really or is this a South Park thing? I watch it occasionally but, never saw Stan as the big D.

I am so disappointed in W. He did so good after 9/11 and the country needed that. We recovered - with little help from the dhimmies and frankly the rest of the world. Oh, they gave token assistance - the Brits the major exception but, by and large they only did the minimum they could get away with. Who is the first to help anybody else - the good ol USA and when we are kicked in the nars and need some help the assholes tell us it is our fault we were attacked and you know the rest.

We get the blame for so much evil on this earth and we all know it is just because they are jealous little bitches - you know the nasty type that made fun of you in school but, they really had nothing to crow about.

I am losing all patience with these bitches and since I cannot tolerate stupidity any more I am running out of news sources. I used to religiously watch Foxnews but, their own lib anchors - yes they mostly are screaming libs - are slanting everything. I don't think they have hired many decent conservatives - only a few token ones. Were it not for Hannity and a couple others they would look lefty yellow.

I am so disheartened by Mccains latest global warming spewage and it just makes me heartsick. I worry that we are leaving my kids and yours a very nasty mess and it is all because we trusted people to do the right thing - you know uphold the Constitution and its founding fathers goals.

/ok rant off - I still don't feel better - just vented
