Indonesian Antisemitism Watch

Wed, May 14, 2008 at 11:34:08 am PDT

In the showcase “moderate” Islamic state of Indonesia, the speaker of parliament told an audience of Jew-haters today that Israel is committing ‘ethnic cleansing’.

JAKARTA (AFP) - Israel is carrying out “ethnic cleansing” of Palestinians, a top Indonesian politician said Wednesday in the lead up to celebrations and protests marking the Jewish state’s 60th anniversary.

“There is nearly no day without the blood of innocent people being spilled in Palestine,” Agung Laksono, the speaker of Indonesia’s parliament, told an international anti-Zionist conference here marking the anniversary. [Why are there no other reports on the news wires about this “anti-Zionist conference?” – ed.]

“Israeli soldiers, in a planned manner, murder and destroy the Palestinians. Villages are bombed, homes are destroyed and their fields and burned,” he said.

“We condemn the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians by Israel.”

If Israel is committing “ethnic cleansing,” they’re doing a really poor job of it—since the Palestinian territories have one of the fastest growing populations in the world.

That's exactly the point I made in my "Nakba-60" report.

Somehow, 6 million Palestinians have the "right of return," even though there were only a few hundred thousand there in the first place. (Almost all of whom sided with the invading Arab armies.)

How did "genocide" transform a few hundred thousand people to over 6 million?

A miracle!

Internatonal AntiZionist Conference? Do you mean the 57 islamist states are getting together to plan Israel's destruction? And making noise about Israel's "ethnic cleansing" so the world will be as prepared to write off Israel as they were the Serbs? Sure sounds like it to me.

re: #1 zombie

Do they even have Jews in Indonesia?

I asked myself the same question some time ago when we had an Indonesian "death to the Jews" hatefest at some mosque or other. It occured to me that for the average Indonesian, a "Jew" is a purely abstract concept. If you were to drive by a Baptist church in Wisconsin, and the attendees suddenly streamed out screaming "kill the Paraguayans!", you'd have to wonder what the f**k was going on in that church...

The ones who insist on ethnic cleansing are the Palestinian Arabs who demand that all Jews be expelled from their future state.

Alas, every recent American administration has supported this vile demand by deeming Jewish villages in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza to be "impediments" to "peace."

“Israeli soldiers, in a planned manner, murder and destroy the Palestinians. Villages are bombed, homes are destroyed and their fields and burned,”

Planned yes. Pinpoint targeting of known bad guys yes. Occasional death of civilians the bad guys are hiding behind, yes.

vs.

Random rockets, bombs target at women and children.

I guess the issue is that planning and precision are evil. While random is In'shallah.

Some observations:
-Even the Indonesians are jealous of Israel's democratic government and freedoms.

- One day Indonesians will find themselves with a vile corrupt government that wants to distract its citizens from domestic problems by blaming space aliens or Jews for all the world's problems.

-Wouldn't the effort spent on an anti-zionist conference in a country without Jews have been better spent on some social programs or health care?

- More Indonesians are murdered in honor killings or crimes against Islam each year than than Israel have killed in 60 years of self-protection.

I haven't read the book yet, Zombie, but I know the author, David Meir-Levi. He's given lectures, debated Hatem Bazian, and taught classes on the actual history of Israel and the Arab-Israeli conflict.

He's spectacular. His knowledge of the conflict is Encyclopedic. There was a very flattering article about him on Frontpage not so long ago. If the book is anything like his lectures, it should be good.

If Israel is committing “ethnic cleansing,” they’re doing a really poor job of it—since the Palestinian territories have one of the fastest growing populations in the world.

That's because the Israelis are doing a different type of ethnic cleansing.

Since the Jews returned to their land, the local arabs live far more hygienic lives.

They are cleaner.

Plant them, harvest a zillion tomatillos, the ones that fall to the ground and rot will create a jillion sprouts next spring. And the cycles continues forever -- self re-seeding.

You'll be eating tomatillo salsa and tomatillo stew every day!

The only problem is coming up with creative recipes for them. Mainly:

Slice them from into salads
Tomatillo green salsa
Tomatillo (+pork if you want) stew
Topping sauce for enchiladas.

“There is nearly no day without the blood of innocent people being spilled in Palestine,”

This is because of homicide bombers bomb vest going off before they can get in to Israel, from stray bullets of "palestinian" guns, and houses of homicide bomb makers blowing up.

Also, the "palestinians" teach ALL "palestinian" children to hate Jews by the age of 2.

This is the only reason there is any blood being spilled anywhere near the area.

Jakarta - House Speaker Agung Laksono urged advanced countries to allocate 0.7 percent of their Gross Domestic Product.

Agung made the appeal in a meeting of the World Inter-Parliamentary Union on the occasion of its 118th anniversary which opened on April 13, 2008 in Cape Town, South Africa, an e-mail message of the House of Representatives (DPR) said on Sunday.

"Poverty is a global phenomenon caused by a mistake of civilization," he said.

What a complete and total idiot. A 'mistake of civilization" ?

Its always about inverting the Holocaust, actually THE worst example of "ethnic cleansing" in recorded human history onto the Jews.

Of course the horrible irony is that the Muslims have always abused their Christian and Jewish minorities, and only "cleansed them a little" in occassional massacres, until pushing out most all of the Jews after 1948, and the Christians now. And if the Israelis really had done some ethnic cleansing (just push them to the border), as they would seem to have every right to do, they'd probably be a lot better off.

In fact, just wtf are these Indonesian wackos talking about - is it possible to even call it "ethnic cleansing" when Israel attacks, say, Gaza, which is a separate territory and nascent state? Not to mention the "attacks" are triggered by daily Palestinian attacks on Israeli civilians?

I'd rather talk about gardening, if you don't mind.

I have a solution:

From now on, all rockets fired by those competing groups must be labeled clearly as to their origin, including latitude, longitude, name of organization, and location and name of rocket production facility. The labels shall be constucted so as to be impervious to storage conditions, extremes of temperature and humidity, and explosions. Before firing, and after completing a 20-point prelaunch quality check, the rocket launch coordinator and the lead rocket launch team representative shall both sign and date a record of launch, to be filed in triplicate, with the azul copy going to the IDF.

Here's yet another 'Gem' from the mind of Agung Laksono

Religion should be included in the national exam.

Chairman of the parliament, DPR, Agung Laksono, says religion should be a required part of the national exam (ujian nasional (UN)) for high school students because Indonesians are still very immoral and decadent. Speaking in Sukoharjo on the 22nd:

The level of moral decadence among Indonesians still hasn’t been reduced even though religious activity is high and there are Islamic boarding schools everywhere.

Not only poor morals but Indonesians were also violent and there were even some schools, such as IPDN, which seemed devoted to training students in violent ways.

While currently the only three compulsory subjects for the national exam are Indonesian, English, and Maths, Agung said adding religious education would help improve the morality of young people and benefit the nation in the long term.

The high rate of violence and sexual crimes and other things indicates that there is something wrong with our education system.

Religious education was not given much attention by the government, he said, and this constituted discrimination.

The ones who insist on ethnic cleansing are the Palestinian Arabs who demand that all Jews be expelled from their future state.

Alas, every recent American administration has supported this vile demand by deeming Jewish villages in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza to be "impediments" to "peace."

If the "Palestinian state" is to be free of Jews, then doesn't it make sense that Israel should be free of Arabs? (I'm not saying that Israel should evict Arabs; I'm just pointing out the logical inconsistency here.)

re: #87 Opinionated

It's not contempt - it's that their rockets aren't sufficient to reach as far as Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. They would surely try on the President in a nihilistic blast of fury.

Hamas doesn't care what's going on in Jerusalem. They're fighting a war against Israel, and Israel isn't led by a prime minister who is willing to return the favor - and that restraint is translated as weakness by the terrorists, so the terrorists intensify their attacks.

I know that Israel doesn't want to occupy Gaza again, but they're going to have to reinvade Gaza (and yes, that's right folks - reinvade because they're not there now nor have they been since 2005's disengagement) to root out and thoroughly destroy the Hamas infrastructure if they want the rocket war to end. Olmert is unwilling to take that step to secure Israel's national security. He's more than willing to tolerate what we witnessed today - rocket attacks that kill and wound Israeli citizens on a daily basis.

This is way off of subject, but kind of interesting.
Campaigning for her mother today in Puerto Rico, Chelsea Clinton was denied access by the Navy to the Island of Visques.
It is the site of a former Navy bombing range. She wanted to showcase how her mother would clean it up & give land to the people

LOL, Good Memories. The islanders there were pissed about the Navy bombing range, so they bitch moaned and whined until the Navy gave in. Then since they couldn't bomb there anymore, the Navy shut down the base and the local economy went buh-bye. Of course the locals then bitched and moaned that the Navy was just being mean.

They live on the Island of Synthe in the Bay of Absynthe in the Sea of Miasma. For $25 G up front, I'll take you there. For another $25 G, we swing by El Dorado and El Camero to see the Golden King.

There is unrest in the forest,
There is trouble with the trees,
For the maples want more sunlight
And the oaks ignore their pleas.

The trouble with the maples,
(And they're quite convinced they're right)
They say the oaks are just too lofty
And they grab up all the light.
But the oaks can't help their feelings
If they like the way they're made.
And they wonder why the maples
Can't be happy in their shade.

There is trouble in the forest,
And the creatures all have fled,
As the maples scream "Oppression!"
And the oaks just shake their heads

So the maples formed a union
And demanded equal rights.
"The oaks are just too greedy;
We will make them give us light."
Now there's no more oak oppression,
For they passed a noble law,
And the trees are all kept equal
By hatchet, axe, and saw.

-Rush, The Trees

Indonesia is the world's most populous Muslim nation and has been a staunch supporter of the Palestinian struggle for nationhood. It has no diplomatic relations with Israel.
At the same time it has taken an active interest in playing a greater role in Middle East peace efforts. The country has had peacekeepers stationed in Lebanon since 2006.

They're doing a bang-up job (nevermind Hezbollah's re-arming and cancerous spread in Beirut//) and most likely would like to see their efforts lead to ethnic cleansing just south of Lebanon.
