Farrakhan Featured on Cover of Rev. Wright's Magazine Three Times

Wed, May 14, 2008 at 1:44:04 pm PDT

Tom Blumer does more research into Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s radical newsmagazine Trumpet, and discovers that only one person has appeared on the cover of the magazine as many times as Barack Obama—Louis Farrakhan.

Here’s one:

But, but there were no cameras back then.

It's funny that the West Virginians that think that Obama is a muslim were denigrated in the press, while the so-called "Intelligent college educated" voter that has no frickin' clue what goes on in that church, does not see the blend of islam and Christianity, does not see what that reverend studied, or what NOI and islamic peeps Wright holds up for esteem, are considered the wise ones.

The closer we look, the more ties to Nation of Islam are found. This is really no surprise. For a "Christian" Church, Trinity put precious little emphasis on Christ. It put far more emphasis on race. It is not surprising that they found common ground with NoI.

It seems like the research into the Trumpet is haphazard -- whatever images and pictures people can scrounge up.

Surely, in some library somewhere, there is a complete archive of every issue.

Where?

If we can find it -- get used to the sound of President McCain.

11 WrathofG-d  Wed, May 14, 2008 1:49:15pm

This is just the tip of the iceberg. My research yesterday on the other cover thread, showed that Farrakhan was a common fixture on the Trinty landscape and often wrote articles on the "pastor's page", within the document.

dig deeper.

12 The Other Les  Wed, May 14, 2008 1:50:00pm

A proper Christian publication could show a photo of Farrakhan on the cover, but it would include the words, "warning: false prophet." Or something like that.

But what do I know? I'm just a frakking atheist.

The other thread had some discussion on Obama's Jewish supporters. I would guess that the Farrakhan association wouldn't bother them at all.

Then again these are probably the kind of "Jews" who have to ask their non-Jewish co-workers what a "yalmulke" is.

19 offendi  Wed, May 14, 2008 1:52:27pm

Well, all that goes to show is that when Obama gets the nomination
Louie Farrakhan, Rev. Wright, Teddy Kennedy, Al Sharpton, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid will all be up in the mother ship with the Messiah plotting his campaign.

Barry the Messiah's interesting association are really the gift that keeps on giving, election-wise.

Has anyone woke Johnny Maverick up yet?

P.S. Will George Clinton be performing at the democratic convention?

I forgot to add something important.

Obama's campaign will be all about race, not transcending it as he tried to sell himself earlier. It will be about the perceived race-haters and race-baiters because:

1) They don't want the public to scrutinize Obama's real lack of experience for the most powerful position in the world.

2) They don't want the public to really look at his associations because to do so would result in questioning his judgement and having people ask the question as to whether this so-called perfect candidate has a history of rank opportunism in order to advance himself.

3) They don't want the public to really think about his half-baked ideas on the economy and international affairs because they fail the common sense and smell tests, and put our country and future at risk.

Obama's campaign will be all about race. I would vote for a qualified african-american candidate, not for an un-qualified candidate because he is an african-american ( actually bi-racial ).

In a thread this morning I was telling everyone about my neighbor Lee who is a real good guy--African-American, Republican, Hardworking. I also have another neighbor across the street. A whole family of Nation of Islamers (lots of African garb and bow ties on Sunday). When they first moved in my then 9 year old daughter asked their 9 year old if she would like to play. The NOI daughter coldly stated "No, my mama don't want me playin with no white girls" Interesting neighborhood I live in eh? Oh yeah, these are exactly the kinds of people that I want the next POTUS associating with.

I'm not surprised Fuehrerkhan is one of their favorite cover subjects.
Wright did, after all, go to Libya with him, and give him an award.

And here is one big problem with Obama. If he is elected, he will legitimize this black enslavement theology, and Fuehrerkhan's NOI and its anti-Semitism.
Not that having Obama as poster idol for the MSM and the Damncrap party's presidential candiate haven't already legitimized them.

When a little anti-Semitism is legitimate, more follows.
As bad as Obama would be, if the country survives him, the next president could be far worse, and be an open anti-Semite.

PS. I was very embarrassed when I slipped and called my student-teacher "Sweetie" near the end of her time with me, but I had become rather fond of her. I apologized profusely, and she just laughed--she had gotten to know me by then.

re: #77 WrathofG-d

what is odd to me is that when you search the term "Trumpet News Magazine" you get a link to the TCOC website where they have the trumpet front page, but when you click the associated links, they go nowhere.

I don't know anything about computers but could this be the result of "dumping". Ie: removing all direct source "trumpets" because of the heat & election?

I hope someone jumps on this right now.

I'm a Southern girl at heart, and I tend to call people I like endearments such as "sweetie,: "darlin'," "sweetheart," etc. HOWEVER, I would NEVER use such an endearment in a professional, business, or formal situation. Obama wasn't sexist as much as classless.

PS. I was very embarrassed when I slipped and called my student-teacher "Sweetie" near the end of her time with me, but I had become rather fond of her. I apologized profusely, and she just laughed--she had gotten to know me by then.

As long as you didn't call her "snookums".

doesn't it make you wonder if his run was calculated? If it was Hillary in the lead, it would be a sexist, not racist, issue. The Dems always arm themselves with issues you can't criticize or beliefs you can't question.

They can't win for long. The new media is punching holes in everything.

Obama is a win-win for the democrats. Even if they lose with him they shore up their African-American base, and have the "luxury" of not running an African-American again, a la what they did with Ferraro as VP. Any women since or until Hillary?

Problem is the African-American vote, even if significant, cannot win national elections. They are and will be a secondary ethnic group to the Hispanics, losing election power and prestige over the next 10 years to the growing Hispanic demographic, which is why I say I forsee a Hispanic President now before an African-American one.

Begin any inquiries for access to LOC stacks here.

My mother researched there about twenty years ago and had a pass that allowed her access to pull from collections and carry to reading areas. You can not do this just walking in off of the street. Requests for specific volumes must be made and there is a limit to how much can be held in an area at a time. it is a very cumbersome place to work in if you don't have a pass to the stacks to physically pull continuously as you research. It is probably even more restrictive these days than it was in the eighties, electronic info management seems to do that to institutions.

re: #59 MandyManners

I mentioned the NOI connection to two people recently, both African-American women. One was a co-worker. The other was a clerk at a convenience store. Both women said they knew about it and said they were disgusted and angered. I asked them where they had learned about it and both said at church and in their neighborhoods/from friends.

Many, many years back, at a new job I asked a co-worker what he thought of the NOI (at that time I had just recently seen footage of one of Farrakhan's speeches and was shocked). Without a second of hesitation he said, and I quote verbatim, "F*ck the Nation"!

He went on to tell me about how not long after his H.S. graduation, a long-time friend and classmate of his had joined the NOI and become a "kill whitey" type. After several attempts by his friend to recruit him he had had enough of the bigoted proselytizing , and broke off the friendship. It was a heartbreaking thing for him, to see a long-time friend turn into a racist monster.

Of course, we became fast friends and drinking buddies. I guess he didn't see me as a TWP.

The "Honorable" Louis Farrakhan? What is he, a frikkin' cabinet minister or something?

In a major blow to national Republicans, a Mississippi congressional seat that once voted for President Bush by a twenty-five point margin elected a Democrat on Tuesday. Prentiss County Chancery Clerk Travis Childers beat out Republican candidate Greg Davis, the mayor of Southaven, by a 54%-46% margin, a spread that several Republican strategists on Capitol Hill characterized as a startling wake-up call for a party in dire straits.

Evrytime I see a bowtie with a beanpie selling their hate sheet on a street corner, I calmly walk up and hand them a dollar for a copy. Know thy enemy and all of that.

So, I've found a short piece (about 20 lines) written by Jeremiah Wright in 1986 through The University of Chicago Press which is included in The Journal of Religion. It's basically commentary on a few quotes from the book The Black Spiritual Movement: A Religious Response to Racism by Hans Baer. But since it's from 1986, 22 years ago, it's pretty good evidence of Wright's early anti-American values.

These sects, according to Baer, "maintain that the most direct way of achieving socially desired ends - such as financial prosperity, prestige, love and health - is by employing the various magico-religious rituals or by acquiring esoteric knowledge in order to gain spiritual power over oneself and others" (p. 9).
Unfortunately, this religious response on the part of blacks to their minority status in American society is inadequate because it "ignores the intricate relationship between racism and capitalism" (p. 179) and because "the Spiritual movement encourages its adherents and clients to accept mainstream American values and goals, such as material success and individual achievement - an orientation that unwittingly discourages critical examination of the process of victimization experienced by many Blacks in American society and often results in the objects of this process blaming themselves for their problems" (p. 160; emphasis mine).
Jeremiah Wright, Chicago Illinois

[Bold mine]
So in other words, the magico-religious rituals that were supposed to bring the blacks financial success wouldn't work because it encouraged them to be part of a system that promotes financial success and individual achievement and only something different from mainstream American values and goals would help blacks obtain "financial prosperity, prestige, love and health".

Asked if he would be joining other Hollywood A-listers in pledging support for Obama, Penn gave him a less than ringing endorsement and warned that he has an awful lot to live up to. Spicolli

I wouldn't necessarily say that in this short piece that he advocates victimization, rather he appears to be saying that the error in what the blacks were doing was allowing themselves to become "adherents and clients to accept mainstream American values and goals" which unwittingly promotes racism and "often results in the objects of this process blaming themselves for their problems". So blacks end up blaming themselves even though it's not their fault, it's capitalism's fault and the American value system's fault. So what Wright indirectly argued in favor of was something for blacks that has nothing to do with the mainstream American value system. You can fill in the blanks of whatever belief system he thinks would bring equality and prosperity to blacks.

re: #267 yochanan

IMHO - take a poor person from USA and plop them in Africa... they'd probably die.

You know, I used to say I would believe "Jews for Jesus" were Jews when there was something like "Christians for Allah".

Ya know, I still don't believe in "Jews for Jesus"....

Drudge showing Obama/Edwards.

re: #270 itellu3times

Interesting. I wonder how those who support Obama strictly for racialist reasons would react to him picking a TWP for the Veep slot.

272 rightymouse  Wed, May 14, 2008 4:50:52pm

Liberals who are pro-Obama won't be swayed by anything negative like this. Likewise, liberals who are pro-Hillary could care less about anything negative about her.

Have liberal friends/family in both camps. Their minds are made up and that's all there is to it as far as they are concerned.

Don't look for logic, reason or facts to back up their mind-sets.

And none of them are concerned/alarmed by the race/gender politics tearing up their party.

re: #202 looking closely

Again, this isn't about Wright.

Its not about Farrakhan either.

Its about Obama.

What does it say about Obama that he immersed himself into Wright's world for 20+ years and called him his "spiritual mentor"?

Liberals for Obama won't/don't care much about this. It bothers us for sane, reasonable and rational reasons. But those who are determined that Obama is their candidate of choice will ignore the warning signs and make up excuses. Fingers in ears going 'la.la.la.la".

Let's not discount just how divided Dems are this year and why. And they are really, really divided. The reasons for candidate choice are not what we, as conservatives think should be relevant.

Just throwing this out there. It's scary talking to these folks.

Have they ever shown a picture of Jesus Christ?

Surely you mean Isa (can't insult Farrakhan).

re: #262 mich-again

I knew from the first time I watched a Jeremiah Wright video clip that he was simply a Nation of Islam stooge hiding behind a cross. Actually I have more respect for Farrakhan than I do for Jeremiah Wright only because he doesn't lie about his allegiance and makes no pretense about being who he really is.

Jeremiah Wright is a lying scoundrel. He pretends to be a Christian but is actually working against it with all his black heart.

And its a joke that Obama claims he never knew the real Jeremiah. Pure bullshit pandering.

That needed repeating.
BTW. The African clothes favored by Wright and his crowd are West African derived from the Muslim conquest. They are not the clothes of the original unconquered tribal groups. They are identifiable as styles favored/influenced by the Muslims in Africa.
Wright's preferences are in plain view.

I sent an email to the Library of Congress--here's hoping for a response.

I'm hoping for a nice, tidy series of PDFs; or some links to them. I can then forward them to LGF for parsing.

If they decide to mail me paper copies...well. I have a flatbed scanner--it'll just take me a while. :)

The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan...

Minister? Uh, excuse me... L.F. is the head of the nation of islam. Wouldn't that make him a mullet?

re: #280 wanumba

Wright's preferences are in plain view.

Clearly they are. Jeremiah Wright is a Muslim representing the Nation of Islam and hiding behind the cross because there is more cash in that racket.

Jeremiah Wright's entire mission in this world is pure Taqiyya. All he has ever done is advance Islam by lying to the infidels, in his case pretending to preach the Bible. He is a piece of garbage. And Obama and Michelle are too for donating to his evil cause and pretending to not notice he was NOI all that time. Its the worst kept secret in the USA. Nation of Islam Mosques pretending to be Christian Churches.

SPIT!

As a low brass player who is constantly making fun of trumpet players, the irony of the title of this psycho's newsletter is just delicious...

Maybe it is time for some digging into the Obama-Kenya connection.
