Dirty Tricks and Gutter Politics

Thu, May 15, 2008 at 8:42:58 am PDT

Get ready for gutter politics at its lowest, as lunatic preachers attack: The Trinity of Hell.

Just so nobody thinks I’m approving this message: this guy is completely off his rocker.

Ojoe, on the surface this is salacious, and everyone slows down when there is an automobile accident.

This will in no way, serve any positive purpose for people who disagree with Obama, or make people think twice intellectually about changing their vote for him.

This is the inverse of Wright. It is Springer politics, a critical aspect of world timing devolving into outrageous sound bites, and insults.

It has no merit, especially when put up to the test of facing rogue nuclear proliferation.

It takes that off the table as an argument.

87 Zach_the_Lizard  Thu, May 15, 2008 9:01:54am

This guy is in the same vein as Wright in his whole "White women should boycott Oprah" spiel. He is just as racialist, and should be condemned for this and some of his other unfounded accusations. Why is skin color so important? Just because some of her viewers are white doesn't mean she must support the white candidate.

He goes on to mention George Soros, so he gets points for that, I guess. He speaks very oddly, I think. I'd hate to be in his church.

Just another crazy preacher the media will likely pick up on and parade around. It also gives the Koskidz ammo when we get Lizards supporting his insanity.

88 J.S.  Thu, May 15, 2008 9:01:58am

Now I believe we're clearly into defamation lawsuit time. It just so clearly crosses the line. It's libelous. All three parties (Oprah, Wright and Obama) have been libeled. (Oprah, btw, quit the Trinity church after figuring out that it was bad news...)

A pastor alleges that Oprah W. is a "whore" and has betrayed "white folk" for aligning herself with Trinity Church and supporting Obama. The Rev Wright is characterized as a homosexual (along with Obama). Then, you get a litany of others in the Black community (I won't name them) who are characterized as "pimps" for Obama. etc. That's the gist.

Oprah has already paid for her endorsement of Obama.

IMO entertainers should stay out of politics, unless they intend to run for office themselves.

re: #87 Zach_the_Lizard

This guy is in the same vein as Wright in his whole "White women should boycott Oprah" spiel. He is just as racialist, and should be condemned for this and some of his other unfounded accusations. Why is skin color so important? Just because some of her viewers are white doesn't mean she must support the white candidate.

He goes on to mention George Soros, so he gets points for that, I guess. He speaks very oddly, I think. I'd hate to be in his church.

Just another crazy preacher the media will likely pick up on and parade around. It also gives the Koskidz ammo when we get Lizards supporting his insanity.

Right, he's not opposing Oprah for practicing identity politics; he's just pissed that she chose the wrong identity group.

I thought I was the only one to have caught the reference to George Soros and Moveon. Props to you for that one.

I see a few facts, plus some wild speculation, plus the mandatory claim of being a direct conduit for the word of God. I imagine that if one could go back in time, and hear Mohammed preach, that he'd sound something like this. Notice how he ends his spiel with "Peace be Unto You." To be clear, I'm not saying he's a closet Islamist; it's the style that I remark upon.

What does that have to do with anything. It has no relavance in the Black Community. Rev. Wright is just as bad or worse, and they have a great influence.

OK, the rant is a little bit insane, but relatively speaking, this is nowhere near the level of insanity directed daily at the Bush administration from all over the place.

re: #118 {littleoldlady}
Hi there lol! I think it's more than possible that Oprah, whom Fortune or Forbes listed as one of the top 50 wealthiest people in America (sorry, can't find the damn link) figured she had enough money to have "power" regardless of the popularity of her talk show. And I think she really did believe Obama was the best candidate (his being Black no doubt helped her too and don't forget they both went to Rev Jerimiah Wright's church for a while).
In other words, I think Oprah came out for Obama because she LIKES him and thinks he'd be a good POTUS.
Which just goes to show that no matter how much money and "entertainment" value a person has, doesn't mean they have ANY effin' idea of what's real in the political world.
I never cared much, one way or another for Oprah and can't stand Obama, but I did respect Oprah for running the "chance" at losing a lot of support with the public for coming out for her friend and former co-congregationalist. And since she apparently left Wright's congregation after being there only briefly made me feel even better about her as a person, not a pundit or political scientist.

These two Guys (Manning and Wright) are NOT crazy, nor stupid. They know what works in their world, and this works. You can sneer and make fun all you want and it won't change a thing. They are taken seriously in their community, just because we don't take them seriously just means we are incapable of detecting a threat or an asset when it stares us in the face.

re: #141 maddogg The fact that "this" works in their world is no reason for us not to sneer at them or call them nuts.
Ya know, especially 25 some odd years ago, people like Albert Anastasia and his bosses had something going for them in "their" world as well. That was no reason to not call them what they were, which was psychopaths.
I'm not saying that any of the Rev's rise to the level of Mafia hit men or crime family leaders, just pointing out that because something works for someone in "their" world doesn't mean the rest of the world can't or shouldn't sneer at them and call them crazy.

I have no way of knowing how much of what he says is accurate, but I know he will have many, many people believe him. This gives him power, that same power made a complete unknown the Democratic candidate for POTUS. We can laugh at him, call him nuts, call him crazy. It makes us feel moral and superior. But Obama may have the last laugh in the end, and superior or not, we are screwed. A lot of the crap that people hinted at about Billary has turned out to be pretty solid, I say lets see if the Rev. can back up any of his assertions before we dismiss him. Are the statements he made that we CAN check accurate? Especially about George Soros, whom I would put nothing past.

No doubt there's a "father-son" relationship between the race-baiting Jeremiah Wright and Obama, no doubt Obama is impersonating Jesus, no doubt George Soros is a sinister financier of the left, and no doubt Oprah is shilling for Obama, but this preacher has his theology wrong.

This rumble is between the Clintons and the Kennedys for control of the Democrat Party. And the Democrat Party is well on its way to hell, with the GOP not far behind.
